Jammed myself up using Toolkit - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my phone back following a repair for a faulty USB port. Before I sent it away I unrooted/reset flash counter.
Just tried to root using Galaxy S3 Toolkit v5.0, which is how I did it months ago, but the phone now refuses to boot and instead I get "Samsung" splash screen for a second, followed by a blank screen with a red exclamation mark in the top left corner and solid blue LED.
I can boot into download mode, so thought I'd flash a stock ROM and start again but Odin is not communicating with the phone (yellow box in ID:COM, instead of blue). I can also boot into recovery. Not sure what's gone wrong here, so I don't want to start flashing ROMs from there in case it makes things worse.
Anyone enlighten me? I'm guessing the carrier has updated the software on my phone without telling me, and I didn't check, so is this some new hurdle Samsung has built in?
EDIT: Looks like ODIN is playing ball after all....
EDIT: Looks like I'm still screwed. I've flashed my carrier's stock ROM with ODIN, but the phone won't boot fully. I get the carrier splash screen, then the Samsung splash just stays on the screen, pulsing.

After flashing with odin, try go into recovery and factory reset.

[Q] Phone wont boot past Samsung logo

Greetings All,
So I was using DarkyRom at one point and then I decided to go to MIUI. Tried it for awhile, did not enjoy it so I wanted to go back to Darky. So I went to flash the kernel and when the phone rebooted it went past the logo screen and straight into a pitch black screen. So I left it for ~ 10 minutes and nothing happened. stayed at the black screen. So I pulled the battery out and now the only part of the phone I can access is the Download mode (had to pull the battery out to get out of that as well, would not switch off). So how do I fix this? Is it a boot loop? I have Odin but this PC has never had KIES or the Samsung drivers installed on it so I am not sure if that will cause a problem. Also I was using a KI3 build, can I flash stock KH3 (from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) with Odin and will the phone still work?
Any assistance (or reassurance that its fixable) would be greatly appreciated.
Probably fixable flash a stock rom from the stock rom thread as first step.

Using Odin? And can the stock be a KH3 ROM?
*edit*
Found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348374&highlight=black+screen+after+boot+logo Would this work for me? Even though I was using a MIUI ROM?
Agreed, try wiping cache/data and flash stock ROM with bootloader.

Cant access Recovery Mode to wipe cache/data, only download mode.

[Q] Bricked after flashing?

Hey guys! I just tried to flash my S2 i9100. I forgot to enable USB debugging, went to ODIN and started the flash. It went all the way to "PASS" and when it should have rebooted, it stuck to the start-up screen. It had a new picture of a yellow triangle with an "!" inside it. I can access download mode, but i cannot access recovery. I suppose this means NAND corruption? I've tried everything, flashing a new kernel did not work (it would not even flash anything but the one i first tried). I also got through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 , but still nothing. Is it time to say goodbye to my S2 witch i bought 2 months ago :/
Kind regards,
pudipaa
You should always leave USB debugging on it wouldn't hurt to do so. Did you try flashing a boot loader like in the thread?

Yellow triangle is no problem. You can reset the counter any time later.
Did you flash a boot loader?
Don't lose hope, there is always hope with xda around.
Wtf u mean by saying bye? There's still alot hope.... PM me i have a solution... Maybe

Hey you can flash stock rom for your mobile specific to your computer country from sammobile.com Since you can access download mode

I have tried to flash the original, i have tried to flash bootloader. But nothing happens. It wont flash them. Odin just freezes when im trying to flash bootloader/rescue package/original rom
Try reinstall samsungs drivers on PC and you have to flash rom by other ver. of Odin. Or you try do it on other PC.

Help...I think my YGP got bricked -_-

I was reflashing back to stock firmware gingerbread 2.3.6 from eryigits due to its massive slowdown from its initial install. But then after flashing the stock firmware it boot looped so i thought maybe there was something wrong with the partitions and loaded what I got from another thread. But then the progress bar in Odin wasn't moving at all so I terminated odin and opened another instance similarly it didn't progressed. I plugged off my ygp and rebooted only meet a cellphone logo and a computer logo with an exclamation mark unpleasantly called black screen of death. Is this what they call a brick? Should I follow the guide on hardbrick recovery ie http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496360?
Yeah use the unbrickable reserector

No, this screen is the forced download mode also called lucky brick. So while you are on this screen the player should be detected as it is in download mode. So you should be able to flash your rom.
Just flash the rom in odin again see post above me
if it bootloops again format the device in recovery mode
There is a way to fix this.
I was flashing STOCK GB 2.3.6, because i didn't like Erygit's rom, and i got the bootloop too.
The bootloop was caused by the fact i didnt do a Factory data reset, and when i did it, i rebooted from Recovery and the Stock ROM booted.
Just do a factory reset from recovery, it should work.
Thanks for the swift replies and sorry for my late reply as well! Thanks alot for your recommendations. I haven't been able to touch my ygp for awhile due to school. But I'll surely try out everything suggested. Btw I kind of already reflashed the stock gb rom it bootlooped after so I pretty much didn't have a cwm recovery. But I'll try flashing it in a while! Thanks again! ^_^

International (UK) S3 stuck in reboot loop

So I was using an app on the phone and it rebooted.
It now just loops around the initial splash screen, only pulling the battery stops it.
I can get to the recovery menu and did a factory reset but it made no difference.
Not rooted / stock ROM.
I checked the power button and that operates normally.
Is there anything else I can try ?
Thanks
flash a stock rom
If you are not rooted you will have to use Odin and a stock rom for your device.

thanks, I'll go and read up on odin.
I'd love to know what killed the OS, seems bizarre. I was only doing a crossword
I flashed the correct ROM via odin and its still doing the same thing, splash screen appears about every 5 seconds.
Any more ideas or is it going on a trip to the repair centre ?
non root apps cant really kill the os.
what fw we're you on? that app could have used the exynos exploit if your kernel is one of the older ones.
The FW is Vodafone UK, last had an update at the end of last month.
When it died there was nothing downloading etc, was just running an app I've had on there since I got the phone.

have you done a factory reset from recovery after reflashing the stock ROM?
if yes, send it to Samsung
You my good sir have a brick bug only the great Sammy can help
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Have you tried a custom recovery ie TWRP or Clockwork Mod, and then a custom ROM? Seeing that you did even have it rooted it probably isn't an option but it is an idea.

[Q] Factory reset after Rooting phone

Recently I factory reset my rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 without really thinking. Now on reboot, it seems to be stuck on the ' Samsung GALAXY SII GT-19100' start up screen (with the yellow triangle). I realized after I did the factory reset that it was a bad idea so any help would be greatly appreciated
If it helps, I am rooted with Jeboo Kernel
I've done a number of factory resets.....in both the android menu and cwm........
All it does is wipe any user installed apps and user settings.....it doesn't even get rid of photos taken using the phones camera......so it doesn't affect whether your phone boots or not.......

So, how do I fix this problem. Cannot even turn off the phone as it goes black and then straight into this screen. Can get into download screen though.
OK....so you can't boot the phone....
And I'm guessing you can't access CWM?
In that case, you only really have one option......flash a stock firmware via Odin and re root.......
