[Q] Problem with WiFi after update to 2.2 - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having problems with my T-Mobile Vibrant after update to froyo 2.2, now the wifi is horrible and very slow, i can't download anything, i tried to fix it using this app "FXR WiFi fix and rescue" but nothing happens.

Man, I haven't run froyo in at least a year and a half. Pull up the sticky threads, get root and cwm recovery, then blast PA 2.54-360 on that sumbitch!
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

but do you think the wifi problem can be fixed installing a custom rom ?

Hope I'm not being paranoid...

So I noticed that my 3G wasn't connecting all day on my fascinate. I was running Evil Fascinate 3.3.2 with the nemesis ED01 kernel and the ED01 modem. So I flashed the EC01 modem. No 3G. So I completely wipe everything after a nandroid backup and installed stock DL09. Bam, 3G is back. I allow it to update itself to Froyo OTA. 3G working great. I wipe the phone and install the new Community Rom from scratch. 3G is gone again. I wipe the phone and I flash EF 3.4. 3G still gone.
So I'm back on stock Froyo. I'll do more testing later to see if rooting makes 3G go away again, but at this time I'm suitably freaked out.

Looks like smilepak had the same issue. see here also
Just a suggestion for when I get random bugs that others don't seem to get. I re-download the file i tried to flash, from a different link if i can get it. A lot of times it's a bad download
I think the piece of code in the unknown tethering module is phone home code. I think it's a combination of the phone home not happening, and high 3g usage triggering a disconnect on the other end. I can't prove it yet, but I'm trying to figure out a way to get tcpdumps for wireshark. I know my usage is very high right now.
This seems to be a problem alright..see this thresd: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051543
Mine is low. For me, going to ed01 started the whole mess. Eve going back to dl09, didn't solve anything. The 3#g shows up and random disconnect every five minutes. Remind me of old modem days of bad handshake and reconnect loop. That is basically what it is doing. Once connected, hell of slow tried speed test and the result was horrible.
Looked through all settings values, factory reset, tried several different radio and from. All no such luck.

[Q] X10: Can't download Apps from Market using Wifi

Hi all,
First I have realized this question has been asked many times. But mine is a bit specific. So I post my situation here:
I am using a X10i on baseband .54, running Froyo ROMs from the great DEVs here in XDA.
I have been on rendeiro's [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] with the camera fix and everything runs great! Downloading Apps from Market were perfectly fine using both Wifi (at work and home) and 3G.
Then I decided to give other ROMs a try, such as rendeiro's scamble_v01.2[CM6.1.3] and Wolf's CM 6.1.3 [V006]. I flashed the ROMs through the step-by-step instructions given by the DEVs. However, I have experienced the same problem: I can access Market using both 3G and Wifi, however, downloading from Market only works using 3G but never Wifi. It stucked at the "starting to download".
I have tried all the suggestions I could find here such as clearing the data and cache for the gapps, etc. But nothing worked.
Now I am back to rendeiro's [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] and everything works well again. Luckily I have made a backup using Xrec.
I would still want to find out the root cause for this Wifi issue so that I can try other ROMs in the future with a peace of mind.
Thanks!

Anyone else have trouble using Update All in the market?

I can't seem to get Update All to work. I am rooted on cyanogen mod 7, running 2.3. When I click Update All most of the downloads/installs fail. and the eris is dog slow. Do I need to go back to updating one app at a time?
My Eris just hung then rebooted trying to use Update All. Oh well.
You don't say which ROM.
I had that problem with GSB, but I do not with CondemnedSoul's CM7 ROM. (Though, to be fair, GSB would eventually all update if I just kept doing it.)

[Q] Wifi and 3g issues

I have just flashed cm7 (stable) onto my phone (was using liteningrom before)
It all works fine except wifi / 3g. I cannot seem to download apps without 4/5 reboots and messing around with settings. Is this a common issue? could not see anyone with this issue for this build.
I was also thinking the change of rom may be the culprit so are there any settings in clockwork recovery that I should have done or do I need to hook phone up to kies to update the KE thing?
Sorry, I am still pretty new to SGS2 custom roms.

[Q] GPS don't get fix

Hello to all,
I've been looking on this forum, searched for everything I wanted, and always get an answer, but this time I need to ask some experts here. As the title says the gps don;t want to get fix even on clear sky and without any building around. I used many programs one of it is "gps status" where are shown 0/11 fix, basicaly there are 11 satelites available I believe. I have tried almost all the roms available in the development section but none of them worked, even the cm7. Used another firmware and there is fix to this. If I use the original samsung rom untouched the gps is working normaly. Please let me know what I doing wrong?
Thanks,

Well for some reason my gps is working now, what I've done is flashing with odin a multiple file (my chose was a froyo firmware) the I flash with odin the latest ks9 one package file, working great even with cm7.2, got fix in 19 sec for me is great (also using the gps config from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320626
Thanks
Guys before you change the base band and all try Faster fix from the market.. worked for me.. now the gps gets locked in few seconds.. really useful app.. and also I recommend maps v5.8.. most of the time other versions gave me force closes when using navigation.. Hope this helps..
