i747 vs i9300 Purely Audio Comparison - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I picked up the i747 knowing the audio quality would be subpar. I really didn't expect it to be this far under par. I wouldn't mind switching over to the i9300 and losing LTE (with a 2 GB data cap who cares really?).
Question: How MUCH better will the sound be on the i9300 vs the i747. Any comparisons that people have tried?
Playing flac's- through Shure SE 420.
Thanks.

bump - or the i9305?

I went ahead and bought the i9305. The sound quality is much better than the i747. This is using the "Ac!d" audio engine on the pandorium ROM for the i9305. Over much clearer and defined sound!

[Q] Note better Audio Quality than Galaxy SII?

Just read the Gsmarena review of the Note and noticed that it had significantly better audio quality than the SGS 2, so there may yet be hope that we'll see this transferred to our own beloved handset.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_n7000-review-676p8.php
Could this mean that Samsung fixed the faulty audio codec that went into our SGS2s?
Hmmm interesting. Wonder if there are any differences in drivers or configuration.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with the sound in the SGSII especially since the 2.3.5 upgrade which was a substantial improvement.

Haha, I am using the latest 2.3.6. You should find and run a frequency sweep file on the phone to understand what it is capable of (you would know how much of IMD, THD and noise it is CAPABLE of generating!). Even without voodoo, none of these issues exist on SGS1 or SGR!

[Q] Galaxy s2 vs galaxy nexus :future update, camera, screen

I know this have been discussed numerous times but i dig into different forums but i don't find what i need.
I want to know which is better between the two in performance. I know that galaxy nexus has lower specs but is optimized for ICS and galaxy s2 Have higher specs and will get ICS but i want to know who will perform better in the future OS (android 5.0,6.0 etc....) may be it is a rom or official one and will handle games smoothly?(
I had seen a video on youtube- a comparison between GS2 and GN on gaming. Asphalt 6 is the game and the GN is able to run the games a little smoother than GS2. knowing that gs2 has more powerful gpu how is that possible?
How well does the GN's camera compete with GS2's camera? is the difference really huge in quality and details with GS2?
Lastly, I know the GN's screen is HD but a pentile one and the s2 is not pentile. Does the screen in the GN is obviously better than GS2 (like on the picture and watching movie that on GN's screen difference with s2 is very noticeable?) or does the difference is not that noticeable unless you look at it very near?
i know it's a bit long but i will say thank you in advance for clarifying these to me.
Wait for Galaxy S3, its coming in May 3rd.
performance... i think when do you want more performance, you should choose galaxy nexus.

Reason?
Korean Galaxy s2 -Why did you choose GN even though it has a lower specs?
OK I'll take a minute. I have the Gnex and my wife the S2.
OK for sure the s2 has a bit faster CPU and gpu. But to be honest nobody notices the difference. Both are fast and smooth. I put aokp on my wife's s2 yesterday and it's fast as hell. Just like the Gnex. What really sucks is that the Gnex doesn't have a micro SD slot.
But the main difference and the biggest is the screen and the camera. The super AMOLED HD screen is absolutely amazing the colors and definition are the best. The camera from the s2 has 8MP but the fotos and videos from the Gnex are just better. Fotos and videos on the s2 just look a bit weak compared to the gnex .
And for the future I think that the Gnex will handle the updates just a bit better because of the plain vanilla

[Q] i9100 v. 19100g - audio DAC affect call quality?

I'm looking to purchase an S2, debating whether or not to get the i9100 or the i9100g. Overall, they seem pretty even, given that they both have pros and cons.
This is a phone after all which means I'll be placing and receiving calls and maximizing call quality is important to me. Reportedly, the i9100g has a better audio DAC.
My question is, does the audio DAC affect call quality at all (I mean native calls, not via apps like Skype)? Or does this only affect other types of sound, like music, sound effects, etc? If the audio DAC has nothing to do with native call quality, then theoretically, neither version is better or worse than the other.
Thanks in advance.
i9100G is inferior and has poor rom development .

i am sure i posted here
who deleted it :/
i9100 is way better
better chipset/camera/ screen everything
Thanks but I'm looking for the answer to my specific question - does audio dac affect voice quality (both mine and other party) in calls? It's a fact that the TI chipset has a different dac than the exynos.
Those generic responses don't help as I've stated that I already looked into the pros/cons of both models already.
Thanks.
Talked to someone at work. In layman terms, he said that since voice calling quality is relatively low fidelity compared to listening to high quality MP3s, the difference in the DACs probably won't be noticed during phone conversations.
Anyone agree/disagree?
Also, the G doesn't seem to be necessarily inferior according to some people. From what I've read, non-G has faster GPU, more community support, little smoother. The G has slightly better battery life, no color banding, less heat. It seems like personal preference to me. So back to my original question - if the answer was yes the DAC affects call quality, I probably would go with the G since call quality is important to me. Otherwise, it's a coin toss for me. I'm not a hardcore modder, the most I'll probably do is root the phone lol.

Should I upgrade to the S3 from my Galaxy Note?

Is it worth it? I wanna hear what you guys have to say

The phone is beautiful, the screen is gorgeous, performance is top notch. Is it however worth upgrading from the Note? I don't think so. From an older device like the Desire which I had.. sure, but there's just no point if you already have a note
edit: also, look at this
oops nm he posted the link above

If note is doing the job and you're using the spen, prefer the bigger screen then don't get s3.
Sent from my Xperia S
For me, as an owner of both, and author of the internet's best Note review, reasons to upgrade to the S3 from the Note would be:
If the screen size is not very important to you
If you really value SQ - between the Wolfson,Apt-X, and limited USB DAC support the S3 completely outdoes the Note
If you're an avid gamer and can really benefit from the much improved GPU
If you value smoothness of operation very highly, the S3 significantly outperforms the Note here
If NFC/Android Beam would be very valuable to you
If full exFAT support is important to you
If the S-pen isn't a drawcard at all
It isn't the most clear cut decision in my books, depends on what experiences you value most in the phone.

S3 Audio Quality

Hey all!
Just wanted to share my opinion ...
I personally think after using S3 for about a Week now, that S3's Audio Quality "is far superior in Comparison to an iPhone or hTc Beats".
I've used these both.
Does someone else thinks the same, or is it my Love for S3 which makes me believe this ???

As per other SGS3 audio posts try reading them many say not loud enough .
Personally i will not disagree with your viewpoint .

I love the quality but don't think it goes loud enough; its noticeably more quiet than my S2.

You could give franco's kernel a try, he has boosted the volume significantly and it sounds great without impacting the audio quality.
Highly recommend it, and the bonus of better battery life too

Like I've said before, listen to a Nokia N95 speaker or headphones and you'll realise how poor S3 really is.
