Hi,
I have the following problem with my Razr:
When i play the music over bluetooth it seems like i was using a old cd player without antiskip and hit him, is just a little jump but only happen on bluetooth, on headphones or speaker works great
Any idea of this issue? should i go a ask for warranty?
thanks
I get the same thing but it really seems to happen when I click something on the screen and the phone places the sound for clicking on an app or widget or something. Occasionally it'll happen randomly. Probably something that needs to get updated by Moto, I don't think it's anything wrong with your individual phone. Of course I have the Verizon Droid Razr but I'd imagine it's similar.

Yes i already went to my Cellphone dealer and that's what they told me, i'll wait until some fix get out.
A temporary solve for this issue is move all the music to the internal storage
Thanks for the help
I made more testing and it does not mater if you put the music on the internal or external memory the problem is the same we will need to wait for an update or custom rom without the problem
Thanks

Turning off wifi doesn't help. I had my Razr playing through my Kenwood DNX7140 head unit all day today and it was skipping a whole lot

same on my mw600.... I am experiencing dropouts during the playback... Its very annoying...
Same issues with my maxx on the latest update.
Haven't tried the wifi "off" option yet.
I use a satechi bluetooth fm transmitter.... the older one with the slide down front face and red digit display. Every other phone works great, even my bionic and SGN, and even slightly older phones.
Oddly I want to report the opposite, the Bluetooth on this works much better and has better range than my previous phone (Droid Incredible). Of course I've only tested it with a Samsung HM3700.
It fails with wifi off, does the every few second stop playing music, then start, then stop.... grrrrr

That's what I have.
droid razr bluetooth skip work around
I picked up a droid razr in feb 2012, and I the same skipping issue right out of the box. It only happend while playing through bluetooth. I found that mine skipped every time the data, 3g or 4g lte, sent or received. This happens randomly based on activity on the phone. I used an app called tasker to turn off my mobile data automatically, only when I was connected to bluetooth and my music app was running. This keeps it from skipping, but it prevents my from using pandora or streaming through google music. I've had many smart phones over the years and I have occasionally had this same issue with wifi, but never with 3g before. This leads me to believe that it's an issue with either with the hardware or software of this particular phone. Hopefully motorola fixes it. Hope this helps anyone out there with the same issue.

I need data on, hence the term streaming music
Can't remember if I flogged it here, but I opened 2 tickets with moto, they were closed with no reason, ugh.
Protocols match between devices, and one is even a Moto T505. I just hard wire in the car now.
What's up with that? Even with headphones plugged in the notification sounds go through the external speaker?
Silliness.
Buuuuuuump no one?

I would like to know the answer to this as well, my previous HTC when headphones are plugged in all sounds including notifications went through them, yet the S3 sends notifications to the external speaker, surely this is a bug?
It's absurd and not the only Samsung phone that does it. The thing that strikes me as odd is there aren't many people that seem to care about it. Google searches hardly brings up **** and this thread has gotten like 60 views but 1 response...which is you with the same question.

That's ok, but when your phone is in your pocket how do you know if you have a text/email unless you put it on vibrate?
On the top screen of your phone you will see a small i which stands for notification, i dont know whats it called but the settings menu on top of your phone drag it down and click notifications then the letter i will disappear now all notifications will alert you normally via sound like call and texts.

oops i meant i put it to vibrate. however if u do this there will be a slight pause in the music when a notification comes in(i think it only applies to certain functions like sms. whatsapp nofs dont pause my music)
I can't believe no one cares about this... I still want to hear my notifications over my headphones... Work email, personal email, specific ringtones for individual calls and texts... the list goes on. I've owned Mostly HTC, but even my Palm Pre and older Sanyo phones were smart enough to mute the external speaker when connecting headphones.
Bizarre.
I don't know if this has been explained prior to my response. Notifications work fine over blue tooth.

The issue was never Bluetooth. The problem is, you can have you headphones plugged in while sitting in the library, and if you get a notification, it will blast the entire room. Similarly, if you are in your car, the notifications don't make it to your aux port, and also, if you use the aux port, Bluetooth will not play the audio simultaneously. That's crap. On CM-based ROMs this works just fine. Definitely not a hardware issue. Sure sucks for people who use hands free kits in their cars
Same issue here with the external speaker not being muted when earphones plugged in, and unlike previous comments, issue persists when using bluetooth. Currently using Omega v32.1.
This problem affects my Galaxy Note 2 as well. Wow. How does no one else care about this? I don't understand why people would put their phone on silent just because they are listening to music. CM10 sort of fixed this issue on my GS3, but I can't use that on the gn2 because of all the custom stylus integration.
It's definitely an android thing and I can't believe that in almost 2 years since it's been logged, no traction appears to have been made.
Did a quick search through the developer forums to see if anyone has made a mod, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know, if one the many talented developers on XDA, have done anything here?
EDIT: Turns out there is an app already out there to solve this, but interesting that it's not standard in the OS.

You could try SoundAbout, but as ScrapMaker states, it may cause issues with the sound cutting in/out using just the earpiece.
I wasn't going to try using it, but have over the last few days and it seems to work ok for me. Give it a go and see if it works (as I haven't been able to find anything else on the play store yet)...
I just got the galaxy note 2 yestersay and noticed the headphine issue today while working on the motorcycle. With the headohines on I can't hear the phone ring or notificationsn. what I hear instead is the music I'm listening to go mute the length of the ringing while anyone around me hears my ringing which comes off a little rude on my part and a bit annoying that it doesn't just ring through the headset.
I'm going over the settings and searching the Web like crazy but not finding an actual solution just work arounds about muting the ringer and/our putting it on vibe, neither of which is what I'm wanting or works for me.
Has any one noticed poor Bluetooth quality on the AT&T version? i picked my one X + up on Friday, when i connect to a speaker i hear cracking in the speakers, i did not have this issue with my vivid on Thursday.
I was just coming here to start a thread for the exact same reason. Bluetooth quality sucks! BIG-TIME! My new BT headset is unusable.

Yes I hear some crackling with the HOX+ in my car if connected via BT. I got today a replacement HOX+ because of a gap between the glass and the polycarbonate shell in my first device. I will test tomorrow the replacement in my car.
same problem here audio from musics great until i make a phone call...
I haven't found that much of a difference between my Samsung Galaxy SkyRocket & HOX+. However the new Alpine systems in the 2013 Jeeps isn't all that stealer. So I guess it depends what you are pumping it through.
Damn same here! I was thinking maybe I just got a bad Bluetooth device as this phone has Bluetooth 4.0 on it? I do believe though the problem is Beats audio enabled. Try disabling it and test.
My music sounds great through sync, but phone calls are horrible. Can barely hear the person on the other end and if crackles just as it dies on my Plantronics headset. I'll return the phone if it doesn't get fixed soon.
Tested without Beats enabled and it made no difference.

Unlock key as in from the HTCdev website or unlock as in carrier unlocking? Sorry new to this stuff, rather be safe than sorry if what you say becomes true, thanks
I got a hold of HTC for support, and this is what they sent me to solve the Bluetooth problem. Didn't work for me, but thought I'd pass it along. Sending mine back to att tomorrow.
Thank you for contacting HTC Customer Support Center regarding your Bluetooth connection.
We apologize for any inconvenience this could have caused; this is not the experience we want you to have as part of the HTC family. Please follow the next steps to fix this issue:
1. If possible, check for compatibility with the accessory manufacturer and what profiles the device uses.
2. Unpair the accessory from the phone.
- Go to: Menu > Settings > Bluetooth. Tap the icon next to the device name you are connected to and select Unpair.
3. Soft reset the phone by powering it off and turning it back on.
4. Turn Bluetooth on, on the phone.
5. Tap on : Menu > Settings > Bluetooth
6. Place the Bluetooth device you want to connect to in discoverable/pairing mode. (Please see the manufacturer's user guide or quick start guide on how to do this.)
You can also try to do the following:
1. Please go to Menu> Settings > Apps > All.
2. Select Bluetooth Share and tap Clear Data.
Tried today my replacement HOX+ with BT in my Mazda 3 2010. Music streaming was very good with very little interference (crackling). Much better than my GNex and GSII before. I haven't tested taking a call yet. I would say it is better than my first HOX+ but I think the first phone was a dud in general.

I was wondering about this too. My call sounded like crap! And the person on the other end said I sounded just fine. So there's clearly something going on here...
Swapped mine out twice yesterday and had the same issue with the new units.
I have the same issue with the BT on my One X+. Before and after I rooted.
I have a 2012 Jeep with unconnect. Audio on my end sounds all muffled. The other end is fine apparently.
4 Phones - Same problem
Just a follow-up to this problem. I have exchanged my HOX+ 4 times at AT&T, and the quality of bluetooth on phone calls is terrible on all 4. Here is the response from HTC, needless to say they believe the bluetooth devices (all of them) are the problem and NOT their phone; even though my SG3, Nokia 920 and iphone5 all sound great on the same bluetooth devices.
At this point since the HTC One X+ is such a recent device, it’s likely to present errors when trying to use Bluetooth; this is due to the fact that the compatibility is from the Bluetooth device to the phone.
For the reason stated above is why HTC will not be able to look further into this issue, the software of the phone has been developed for the phone to pair and work with Bluetooth, but the compatibility is up to the Bluetooth manufacturer.
My suggestion is for you to contact the Bluetooth manufacturer to verify if they can provide you with direct assistance.
Thank you so much for your interest in HTC.
I like to invite you to participate in our customer satisfaction survey about your experience with HTC Technical support, you will need to close your ticket with us and you should receive a pop-up asking if you would like to take the survey.
I do thank you once more for taking the time to contact us and have a great day!
When streaming audio to Audi MMI, in my 2012 A1, the music seems to randomly stop and start again - sounds as if I have hit pause then play. Sometimes it can do it multiple times - consecutively and other times just once every now and then. The car has been in and out of the garage numerous times and Audi have now effectively washed their hands with my problem. Blaming the phone... :banghead:
Audi have highlighted that their website mentions that this an issue with the phone....im currently on 4.1.2 MC2 which is newer than the version audi has shown to have tested - 4.0.4 LG8, but im still encountering this problem - running the latest version of audi bluetooth software too.
I've also tried a few different music player apps to make sure it wasnt app related but still no joy. I'm using neutron mp now - really like the EQ and SQ settings. I really dont want to have to use and SD card or dare i say it, buy an ipod just so I can listen to music without interruption - topped off by using either of these other options I won't have the same control of the EQ and SQ settings
Any ideas what could be causing this? And why seems to be phone specific? The garage tested with an iphone and couldnt replicate the issue - it's my understanding that bluetooth is a 'wireless standard' so I cant really get my head around why some phones are ok but the i9300 has this issue.
Anyone here know what could be causing this and / or what I could try to resolve this issue?
Could it be a buffer issue? Or the i9300's proprietary bluetooth drivers?
Cheers in advance!!

Update:-
It was particularly bad today in one journey....
The thing that gets me is there seems to be no reason for the music hiccuping the way it is. The phone can be in my pocket and everything is fine one journey. Then the next journey it could hiccup maybe once or more or maybe even almost continuesly . Other times I sit my phone directly beneath the headunit - behind the gearstick - and i can get the same results as if it were in my pocket! So it doesn't seem to be signal strength issue.
Audi have tested their hardware and have insisted there are no fault codes being recorded so cannot replace the unit. The service manager has said that I am not alone in this situation and it's down to the phone's bluetooth compatibility with audi's hardware
The gs2 supposedly has the same issue along with a number of other android devices by looking at audi's website.
Frustrating to say at least. :what:

Hmm...yesterday I encountered a new version of this...
...while streaming music and after a couple of the hiccups. The music stopped completely on its own accord on two occasions - both times when I picked the phone up I had to hit play again.

Alright, so I recently decided to upgrade my AT&T HTC ONE X+'s firmware to the latest 1.19.502.1 update. Ever since I got this phone, I've never really been 100% happy with it, so as soon as I saw an official update being rolled out I jumped at the chance! I re-flashed the original recovery, re-locked the bootloader and ran the HTC RUU pc executable, effectively putting my phone in a 100% stock state and fully updated.
So far I can say that the phone experiences less general app crashes than before. The Bluetooth Call audio quality issue is 100% fixed. It would also seem like the Google contacts syncing issue is gone too. AT&T Address Book app now works (I don't like it, I don't actively use it, but at least now it's a functioning app). And Power management & Battery life seemed to have improved ever so slightly.
On the other hand, the phone does seem a bit slower (apps take longer to load, some phone functions take a little bit longer to react, stuff like that). The distorted streaming via Bluetooth (A2DP) bug (not the same issue as the call audio) is still un-addressed. I've always experienced random Bluetooth connection interruptions, and with the update this hasn't changed. Another thing I was hopeful they would fix with the update and they didn't is the Automatic Time Zone option in the Date & Time settings menu (It will often not recognize my time zone - GMT -4:00 - forcing me to set it manually... no big deal, but still a bug none the less). There were no GUI/UI changes or improvements whatsoever. Also, I like to use Nova Launcher Prime, and for whatever reason I've found myself pressing the "back" button to exit some apps and it would return me to the Sense home instead of the Nova Launcher home (which is set as my default launcher). That last one is no big deal, but thought I should mention it just in case.
What about you guys? What has been your experience with it? Did you update OTA or through the RUU? Share your experiences here!
the only thing i needed from the update was fixing BT A2DP audio. Like you said, it is still broken. Highly disappointed. Hopefully a ROM will fix it soon.
The update broke a bunch of apps for me. Chrome, Google Search, and Google Drive no longer work, they crash on startup.
Other people have similar complaints, here: forums.att.com/t5/Android-Discussion-and-Support/HTC-One-X-update/td-p/3469653
This is a stock phone. So far the phone is pretty unusable without those apps.
Really annoying. AT&T hasn't said anything about it yet. Maybe I should contact HTC directly?

You can try to contact HTC directly, but from what I've read around in the forums, they aren't much help. Allow me to suggest you try running the RUU on your phone (you can download it from http://www.htc.com/us/support/news.aspx?p_id=529&p_name=htc-one-x-plus-att ). It'll fully wipe it, so make a backup of all your important stuff (contacts if they aren't cloud synced, pictures, Angry Birds scores, etc) and then run the RUU. After the initial setup, re-download/install all your main apps and see how that goes. If you do get to do this, please post here if there was a difference in your phone's behavior. (Hope that helps)
I really honestly haven't had any issues with my phone since the OTA update... I still lag on playing a simple 2D game Drag Racing" but runs butter smooth when playing 3D games.. WTH?.. Really annoying to me... but then again, it lags even when I'm using my Nexus 7, yet runs lag-free and smooth on my Pantech Burst? Explain that one.. lol..
But all in all I've noticed a lot of small enhancements with the update. Now if they can just fix the game play of Drag Racing app.. lol..
I haven't noticed anything significant either way. If I didn't do the update myself, I don't think I would know there had been one. I do have to say that I never experienced problems playing music over BT, and I use it in my car, at home, and with BT earbuds. Maybe it's because I'm using PowerAmp.

The problem is still there with poweramp. It is a bitpool setting for connection between the phone and BT speaker devices. Some people just don't hear it even though it is there. I have a few friends who are now on JB thanks to recent updates and they have the same issues but they don't seem to hear it. I can hear it plainly though. One of them I could get to hear it but he doesn't care and thinks it sounds good enough for him.

Disappointing feedback. I work from home and have a Plantronics Savi 700 series headset. My HOX+ is connected to the Savi via Bluetooth, and if I make/receive a call on my HOX+ the call skips/distorts for the first 5 seconds or so before stabilising. Is that a known issue?
EDIT: to clarify, I am not using the headset when making/receiving the call in my example.. it's merely just connected via Bluetooth at the time I use my cell phone.

That hasn't been my experience receiving calls (although making them, the first ring does sound louder and coarser than the rest) but there have been some posts here on the forum from people describing a similar issue (since way before the update). Apparently it's either an inconsistent issue, a bug that only affected a few handsets, or an accessory hardware specific issue (eg. compatibility issue with specific bluetooth devices).

When u say BT audio A2DP that to ke means audio controls over BT. Well this has always worked from the start for me on stock and now custom roms. Now if I use a "wired" headset then no, audio controls do not work. All I can do is deal with phone calls and play/pause music. Cannot turn volume up or down or change tracks while using a wired headset. This from my understanding is a "hardware" issue. Now as far as actual BT is concerned, every aspect has worked perfect for me since Steve007 has fixed it for us. Also it has been claimed the new ATT update fixes this BT audio quality issue to an even higher degree than what Steve did so ultimate BT fix now on new ATT update.
So what is the BT audio problem now still not working?

Now as far as actual BT is concerned, every aspect has worked perfect for me since Steve007 has fixed it for us. Also it has been claimed the new ATT update fixes this BT audio quality issue to an even higher degree than what Steve did so ultimate BT fix now on new ATT update.
So what is the BT audio problem now still not working?

What you're referring to are Media and Call control over bluetooth (First part of your statement) and Bluetooth Call Audio specifically (second part of your statement. This is what Steve007's fix addresses and the new update fixes). The bug badtlc and I mentioned is specifically when streaming Music or Video Audio through bluetooth (basically any type or audio that isn't phone call related). The audio streams just fine, but with a nasty distortion in the high frequencies. Many people just don't seem to mind the distorted sound because they just don't seem to identify it. If you compare the Bluetooth audio quality vs the direct audio quality (like with an Aux cable) you will hear a noticeable difference.
bluetooth volume level issue after upgrade
I've been having the issue of too low volume on bluetooth calls in my car since the upgrade to 1.19.502.1 I used the RUU from HTC site to do the upgrade and reinstalled everything. I have to literally turn up the bluetooth volume all the way up in my car and the people on the other end complain that I'm not loud enough. Did anyone else notice anything like this?
The first time I did the OTA on a stock, locked, not rooted HOX+ I noticed some improvments, I'm not really sure might have been placebo effect, but it did break my Wi-Fi. It would stay stuck on "Turning on Wi-Fi" the slider would be slid to the on side, but say off and be grey and unaccessable. Well I had to get it replaced under warranty, the headset speaker was dead too but that happened before the update, and it came with 1.15 and I want to know how common of a problem my experience was I know of at least a couple people who have had the same thing and I'm not sure I want to try the update again on this one and have to go through replacing it again.
i dont see any updated
i am using ATT HTC onex+ on pay as you go service, my phone never saw any updates, tried to change date as many have suggested, tried *#*#checkin#*#*, tried to look up for update manually from settings, but none seem to work, my phone is in stock condition with no root/unlock etc.
any ideas?

The official updates from HTC never wipe anything from the device. They just UpDate the OS. There might brake an app and very rarely, but that's just when changing the SW version, due to app incompatibility with the new OS vers. That's just my experience with HTC over the last few years and the last few devices.
Best of luck.
