Hey u guys, I have 2.60 SPL Olipro (it gave an error when installing it on the 100%, but in bootloader mode its what appears so i guess it is installed ). Either way Im trying to update my Radio ROM and i cant seem do it. Ive got the radio rom file and the custom RUU, although everytime i try to update it gives an error at 7% an the PDA gets stuck in the bootloader and the only solution is to install the orginal HTC ROM. in addition, the phone is not Super CID or something, it is unlocked by factory...
Geez nobody here can tell me how to flash a radio rom? i have superCID, hard spl 2.10... I already have the radio rom i want and a custom ruu, but it always gives me a "flash write" error.
I have been searching and googling for over 2 hours straight and cant find any solution to my problem:
I was going to install the Custom HD2 Android. But my radio was to old. so I decided to update it with the newest rom.
I Installed the HSPL thingy, did the whole renaming and placement of LEOIMG.nbh
and tried to install it via bootloader. But it stopped at 9% telling me: "00028002 Not allowed"
So now I cant get passed a screen:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again
USB
I'm starting to believe there is nothing I can do.. Cant access my sd card when plugged to the pc or nothing..
Is there ANYTHING someone can help me with?
I believe your problem lies with SPL 3.03. I don't think even the latest HSPL will work. I think what you have to do is flash an older stock ROM in order for your SPL to revert to 2.10. Then use HSPL3 to HSPL your device. Then you can flash any ROM you want.

won't work on none tmous phone because spl 3 won't let itself downgrade to spl1. just like spl2 wouldn't downgrade to 1.
the tmous users CAN downgrade from 3 to 2, but there are no spl2 roms for none tmous users.
@OP
if you have a tmous phone then flash a stock tmous rom from sd card.
if you have a normal hd2 then you are stuck on spl3 until hspl gets updated.
EDIT - my answer was incorrect, I was being wary until someone confirmed the spl CAN be downgraded by flashing a correct stock rom for your phone (USB is fine), or by using a goldcard.

you flashed the 3.x rom from sd card. the first thing an sd card flash does is remove hspl, and replace it with stock spl. next, the rom checks that the phone matches the rom, which in your case it doesn't, so it stops and fails.
you could try forcing an spl 2.08.0000 tmous rom on it using goldcard, in the hope it will then allow you to run hspl2.
But all of this requires me to have access to my sd card? I don't have that :\
ah ok.then its time to wait for the next hspl version to support spl3.x
Would it be too much to ask if you could send me a pm or a mail at [email protected] whenever that happens? Probably going back to a good old Sony Ericsson in the meantime, hehe
i'd like to say yes, but it could be several weeks, and i can barely remember to feed myself from one day to the next, so..... heh.
however When it does come out, it will be hard not to notice, just skim the latest thread titles every day or two.
edit - oh, and don't give up just yet, I could be mistaken, its not unusual!. i haven't touched the 3.x rom/spl yet, so i could be wrong.
this thread, for instance,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814838
suggests that the spl CAN be downgraded. reports are still confused.
you could for instance try flashing the 3.x rom over usb using SSPL, and then you'd at least have a working phone.
EDIT - MY RESPONSES IN THIS THREAD WERE NOT BASED ON ALL THE INFORMATION WE NOW HAVE REGARDING SPL 3.03
THE 3.03 SPL CAN BE DOWNGRADED EASILY BY USING THE CORRECT STOCK ROM FOR YOUR PHONE, FLASHED EITHER USB OR SD CARD.
Hi all, I've been running HSPL and Stock ROM 3.14.405.2 on my UK T-Mobile HD2. I needed HSPL as its a generic ROM.
I decided to try a cooked ROM (Artemis), which required the removal of HSPL. I extracted "RUU_signed.nbh" from the 3.14 ROM, renamed it to "leoimg.nbh" and stuck it on my SD Card, before resetting and pressing the down volume. It rebooted, asked if i wanted to continue with the installation, and then reset halfway through.
I'm now getting "Upgrade ROM code error. Please Try Again" and sometimes a grey screen with red numbers "00028002" at the top.
I've tried installing a standard 3.14 ROM again, and a 1.66 ROM, but both say they are unable to communicate to the phone.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated please - I'm gonna have to crack out my Nokia N70 back up soon!!
What haoppened is that when you ran the 3.14 update from sd card, because HSPl was installed it allowed it to start flashing even though its not for your phone. (As hspl should indeed do).
Problem is that step 1 of the update process is to replace the spl(hspl) and instal spl 3.03.0000. The phone then reboots into the new 3.03.0000 bootloader and flashing continues. Except it doesn't, because hspl is no longer there, so your phone rejects the 3.14 rom and you get rom update error and are left with spl 3.03.0000 and no way to apply a 3.14 rom.
Had you tried to flash that rom without hspl, it would have simply failed and done nothing.
The 1.66 rom didnt work because it is an unbranded rom, and you have a branded phone.
You need a t mo uk rom, and you dont need to use sd card, you can flash over usb from bootloader and it will downgrade spl from 3.03.0000 and hspl2 will again work.
Only way, the ONLY way, you can get a 3.14 rom onto your branded hd2 is goldcard. running it as you did with hspl causes instability and only 200 and odd meg ram, with only 50 meg free.
if you would read the install instructions on the first post of the Artemis ROM;
1) you didn't need this thread.
2) you saw the step by step guide on how to do it (available in 3 language!!)

Thanks for the response - I thought something along those lines had happened, so I've gotten TMobile 1.72 from the HTC site.
Ive extraced RUU_signed and renamed it to leoimg, and stuck it on the SD Card. My problem is now, when i boot with the volume held down, It just says "Upgrade ROM code error. Please Try Again" still. It doesnt seem to boot from the SD. Am i missing something or is it totally ballsed?
EDIT: After formatting a different card and trying again, it's working. Wiping now....
As for this goldcard stuff, i assume there's plenty of threads to do that?

Ahhhhhh, that'd explain why performance with 3.14 has been totally rubbish. I had no idea hspl had an overhead like that. Goldcard it is then......if i ever get it working
its not hspl with the overhead, its an incompatibility between the rom and the spl. If you put 3.14 rom on there and then remove hspl leaving say 1.66.0000, you still get the same issues.
As for goldcard, theres a goldcard request thread in rom dev section, post a cid there and ill make a batch of images up later this evening.

All valid points, but not very helpful seeing as this is a thread requesting.....help.
Hi, i have an HTC HD2 with ROM version 1.72.161.3 and Flash 512 MB and need to flash it russian. I also have russian rom file 1.66.411.2 and have HSPL2 also. I need to know if i can run HSPL2 on this phone and flash with this russian file? Thanks in advance.
Yea. Hspl first,, then flash over USB.
Boot into bootloader and look to see what SPL version you have. If it is one of the below SPL versions then you can flash HSPL 2 to youe HD2.
SPL 1.42.0000
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
Hi, i flashed it to RUU_Leo_HTC_RUS_1.66.411.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe and now i have "Your OS ROM isnt customized for your hardware". Forgot to mention my phone is vodafone. Help
That means you can not use that ROM on your HD2 as it did not come from the area of the world that HD2s that used that ROM were shipped to. Official ROMs are very much area or country specific. If you can find a official ROM from htc.com that is for your HD2 that says WWE in the name it will more than likely have Russian in it, you will just have to go into settings and set it to Russian. Use your serial number on the HTC site to get a list of official ROMs that are for your HD2 Look behimd your battery for your serial number.
Well, i switched on the phone and flashed it, didnt go to bootloader berfore flashing. Could that be the problem?

Naw if you had a ActiveSynce connection you are good. I suggest you always manually put your phone into bopotloader because it will save you some time and it keeps you bootloader from timing out because the RUU takes to long to start the flash for some reason. Plus it bypasses some of the checks the Ruu runs that might keep you from flashing.
Did you hspl first? If yes, did you make the noob error of choosing a x.xx.0000 instead of x.xx.hspl?
Also, you can't flash from SD card in this situation.
Region shouldn't be a problem, but in the past I have seen occasional (rare) mention that Russian is the one region that can cause issue.
Go back to working rom, use psas to get a cid for an SD card, send it me with an email address and ill make you a goldcard. (Assuming re trying hspl doesn't do it)
Thanks everybody for your help...i downloaded RUU_Leo_Vodafone_UK_1.72.161.3 file and repaired the phone. I also gave the phone back to my friend as i dont want to brick the phone.
Alright guys so I'm trying to install a custom rom but I' m stuck because I cannot even get hspl installed.
I have an AT&T Titan and am using a selfmade y- cable and to gold card. I flashed the OSPL 2.5 via goldcard and it worked with success, next I ran HSPL Wizard and it said that hspl installed correctly but when the device rebooted hspl wasn't installed.(Picture 1)
So I'd tried reflashing the stock Rom"IMG_Eternity_Cingular_US_1.10.502.04_Radio_16.23.02.26_A_16.27.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE" to redowngrade the Spl and it flashed with success!(Picture 2)
The problem now is that even after flashing the stock rom the spl is still "2.5" when it should be "1.10"(Picture 3)
So my question to you fine gentelmen is, "Does anyone know of a way to get my spl to change?"
Thank you all in Advance!
Also now when I try to gold card anything other than a signed Cingular rom my device shows loading... the card reader flashes a few times, and then it jumps staight back to the spl loader mode?(like pic 1 and 3)
I haven't done it yet, but I am when my cables get here, but I have read the ENTIRE thread of Gold Card and DFT's HSPL for 2nd Gen devices, so I'll take a stab at it first.
you said I flashed the OSPL 2.5 via goldcard and it worked with success,, the OSPL is the original SPL when you need to bring it back to stock for warranty reasons. But that doesn't explain as to why your pics say that you SPL is 2.05 either. From my reading, if your SPL is now 2.05, you can flash HSPL and custom ROMS.
I would flash the SPL again, using the SPL not OSPL.
I'm sure you did that initially and just typed it wrong or I'm misunderstanding you.
Yeah I actually meant just the spl that came with dft's hspl.
i'm in the process of rewiring my y-cable and trying to start fresh!
Will post the results!
Thanks for replying though man!
I managed to get back my spl to 1.10 from 2.6 (from the recent HTC update), by flashing the stock rom twice. This was coincidental, while I trying to get the internet sharing to work with my att titan 1 (there is a thread for this in this forum)- This how I did it: flash stock cingular rom, then forced cab update to 8107; booted phone then reset while booting up switched it again to spl mode to reflash stock cingular rom second time then forced update cab update again to 8107, following this i did a factory reset. After all this long drawn process I didn't get the internet sharing to work but for some reason it did downgrade spl from 2.6 to the original 1.10
BTW, my att titan is now unbranded, flashed with european stock rom using goldcard with spl 2.5
Same Issue here.. except I'm on the 2.5 that came with DFT's folder.. I can only flash the AT&T .nbh nothing else
I can't even get to 2.6 (HTC update). stuck on 2.5

I reflashed the stock rom, and tried cab update to 8107 but when I run cab sender tool it finishes "restarting your phone..Error: System.Exception: Firmware Device is null at wm7update.Program.UpdateDevice(IDeviceInfo deviceInfo, List' 1 updates, UpdateType type)
at wm7update.Program.Main(String[] args)"
Never used cab sender so I have no idea what this means.
Sorry mate, I can't help you with that error. I haven't had any problem with cab sender with stock cingular rom. Try to search the other forum re cab sender. I wonder if this is to do with the DFT 2.5 spl. Why not try to debrand your att titan using the goldcard method? this might be the long process if you can't get the cab update going.
Now I'm stuck on 7720 .. CabSender Doesn't work (null Firmware)... Can't Flash Europe 2.05 rom using GoldCard... I'm stuck with 2.5(DFT) SPL even when i try flashing the SPL 2.6 from HTC or the HSPL from DFT.... Whatever SPL they made or got it from..... It won't upgrade/downgrade.
This is Nice...

I believe it has something to do with language cabs being sent with update cabs.

I'm just throwing this out there...but it seems that ATT Titans seem to be getting half brick issues more compared to unbranded devices.
Did you guys stay at stock SPL 1.10 (never upgraded the bootloader from the HTC website) when you tried installing the HSPL through goldcard?
OR
Did you upgrade the bootloader (off the HTC website) to upgrade the SPL to 2.6 before trying the goldcard?
I have not tried anything yet with my phone, but I was curious because half of the Titans have SPL 2.6 already from HTC while all/most ATT users are stuck at 1.10. -Would this have anything to do with the problems we are having?

I had SPL 1.10 ... Then I made a GoldCard with the 2.05 SPL within the DFT folder and flashed... The Bootloader then read 2.5.XXXXX ... So I assumed all went well and ran the HSPL Install program.. It continued successfully and claimed HSPL was installed.. I restarted the phone and the bootloader still read 2.5.XXXX

Even without the Language cab it fails... And the phone does not stay in the Zune Update Screen for long... If I restart the phone and manually enter the Zune Screen (Vol-) it restarts after 2~ seconds.
----
I tried flashing the Cingular 1.10 rom twice via GoldCard and RUU both flashed successively but kept the SPL at 2.5
habnzrot .. From what i assume did not attempt HSPL, merely updated to HTC 2.6 SPL then unbranded the titan by flashing Europe ... essentially going from 2.6 > 2.05 > 1.10
Whatever is going DFT SPL2.05 is preventing it from being rewritten up or down
Back on 8107 ... Run the Cabsender and while the phone is restarting for the first time.. Pull the Battery and then Power on the phone while holding (vol-)
The downgrade happened when I was on stock Cingular rom with spl 2.6 (upgraded through HTC recent bootloader update) as I said previously it was a pure coincidence whille I was trying to get my internet sharing to work. When I unbranded my titan though goldcard, I first upgraded it using the HTC update so I was back to spl 2.6 ATM I have not tried to flash the HSPL.
This is very interesting...on the DFT thread on the Windows forum, it seems very few people with ATT Titans have the HSPL and actually flashed a custom rom.
So Tachi, just for confirmation your phone actually had "HSPL" 2.5.xxxx after goldcard? or just SPL 2.5.xxxx??? I think the OP had just "SPL" 2.5.xxxx after trying to goldcard with HSPL.
It would be very interesting if this has to do with the original SPL number on the phone. When you upgrade to SPL 2.05 (which is basically the same/modified HTC's 2.5 SPL?) it's possible that it doesn't "successfully" upgrade when we have SPL 1.10 even if it does say "successful."
Now going back to your problem...and once again I am throwing this out there...
Have you tried reflashing the stock OS with with Advanced RUU?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637294
I am not entirely sure if what this does as it may be just another way to flash through RUU, but I remember Task 29 on WinMobile where it practically wiped the phone before you could install the a new/stock OS/SPL.

I had 1.10 then I used the GoldCard to flash DFT 2.05 SPL ... Thats when It showed 2.5 ... I attempted afterwards to flash HSPL but the SPL remained at 2.5 ..
I tried using the Advanced RUU but its the same.
task28 stops task29 which formats the Partition where the UserData is stored... It leaves the radio/SPL untouched. Now task00 stops task28 from taking place keeping UserData, but it fails when i try doing a task00/28 with the 2.05 SPL DFT provided.

No.. cabs work only on things that deal with the OS. Bootloader, Radio, SPL are too low level actions.
Have anybody fixed this cabsender error: "system.exception: firmware device is null"? I still can't upload language pack. What I'm doing wrong?
