I mean i know what sysscope.apk does, that is look if your phone has been modified, to post the status in the about device screen.
But if i factory reset, wont the system need the file to recheck the status of the phone? or i will just get the modified status again?
Or since the root just disabled it, wont it cause problems if i factory reset and the root wants to disable it again?

You'll get the modified status back. Factory reset just puts your phone back to well factory lol. It'll be safe to delete though

[Q] Galaxy S2 frozen at logo screen... help ???

Hi all,
My sister has a galaxy s2 and her little son tried to break into it by breaking te pattern.
But after a lot of tries it didnt work so u get at the part where u have to enter your google play/gmail account.
At that moment he turned down the phone and now it is every time stuck at the loading screen, or boot screen? (Where u see the Galaxy s2 text)
It doesnt shut down or loop to.
Phone is not rooted or a custom rom. Just a stock rom.
She got also realy important data on her phone so a hard reset is something i realy want to try to avoid.
I searched also on google but i just found solutions for a hard reset but as i said i realy want to avoid that.
Anyone got a other solution that i can try ?
Uhm... Im not really good at this, you still have warranty?
The simplest way is to go to there and they fix it for you, cause you guys are clearly not really good with software etc.

At first thank you for your reply
She still got warranty but as today she got no time to go to the mall to go to the shop where she got it.
And tomorrow and the day after that its christmas here so everything is closed.
At second i realy don't want to be rude or anything but you are kinda wrong..
i know how to work with software.....I rooted and do custom roms on my own galaxy s3. without any problems.
Its just that i dont how to solve this.
Go to recovery mode and wipe cache if not work try to flash stock rom and don't tick factory reset only pda flash...
Merry christmas and Happy new year

Okay i understand, im good with rooting/roms but thats it, just helped a guy fix his soft-brick.
But its possible if you root it and put a custom ROM on it it works, cause you get a new boot animation, im 99% it works after that.

What app did you download? And was it from the play store, or a direct download?
Also, what firmware are you on? If its 4.0.4, factory reset is out of the question, read about the emmc brickbug. If you're not on 4.0.4, then a factory reset will be ok. Before you do that, you can try to fix it by flashing a stock ROM using Odin directly over the top of your current setup. Go to Samfirmware.com, download the firmware you're on, and flash it. I really would think you're gonna have to factory reset, but give it a go.

You said me about Flashing a stock ROM.
here can u say what this method actually do?
is it delete all my important data,apps,contacts,messages...?
or it just repair the frozen firmware and leave all my data?

Alright, you need to do some reading before you attempt to fix it. The situation you're in is easily fixed. As MistahBungle said, you'll in all likelihood have to do a factory reset. That will wipe your data, but it's probably the only way to fix. As far as your data goes, it won't wipe anything saved on an internal/external sd card, but it will wipe all apps, and messages. Contacts are easily recovered assuming you have them synced with your Google account. Search how to factory reset from recovery.
To answer your question, flashing the same stock ROM on top of your old one with Odin will not wipe data. It is also very unlikely to fix your situation. You'll have to factory reset.

I don't know how else to say it. Factory reset will wipe everything that's not on internal/external sd. Contacts sync back through a google account. The rest you lose. As your phone isn't rooted, there's no backups for you to restore.

You can sit there wringing your hands for however long you want at the prospect of maybe losing some data which you should have backed up in the first place, or you can fix your phone.

[Q] Big need for help, seriously (See post)!

As the topic states, I am in a big need for some seriously help with my S3 and that ASAP!
I flashed the InsertCoin ROM for our lovely Galaxy S3 some days ago and the installation / flash procedure went fine, and today, I did an hell of a serious failed mistake..
The thing is that I played around with the application ES Filemanager (ticked ROOT access, ofc) and deleted every folder on internal SD card. And I was so stupid that I also tried to delete the folders above the SD card (where you can find folders like system, etc and the build.prop) and after that - my phone started to act strange and rebooted itself and that gived me some serious panic and my first thought was that the phone was killed for good. Well, it was bootable but the booting was failed when the screen arrived on launcher / home screen and everything was force closed etc etc.
My first solution was to re-flash stock, untouched Samsung firmware and that worked fine like butter. I also accessed stock recovery after this procedure to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache, that worked fine too. But when booting the phone at last again - I got this weird picture on screen and my signal is killed (only Emergncy Mode-calls is possible), and I am in a panic at the moment because the Galaxy S3 is the only phone I have that supports micro-SIM cards..
Please, can someone help me ASAP - you guys would save my day! :/ see attached picture below for more information on my problem...

I didn't find any good solution at all :crying:
for solution I went to efs / factoryapp / factorymode and changed the text inside to ON from OFF)
Do you happen to have an EFS backup, perchance?
If everything in / was getting recursively deleted, then /efs (which would be before etc, alphabetically) would most likely have been hit also, IMO
EDIT: If it is your EFS, the log inside /efs will tell you if it's been regenerated (and if so, check your IMEI as if it's not correct, then it would explain your inability to connect to networks)
Please check your IMEI number. if it is starting from "00" than your IMEI number is screwed and you can fix that only if you have EFS folder backup...

If you have no backup, then the only way that I am aware of to get your IMEI back is to send it to Samsung :/

[Q] S3 I9300 bootloop after backup and restoring efs using Nitrality

Hi
I'm having a problem where my S3 go into bootloop after backing up and restoring efs using Nitrality
I can go into recovery mode and download mode
I have tried Factory Reset, delete cache and flashing stock rom 4.1.2 using Odin, it was succesfull but my S3 still go into bootloop
Any tips?
Thanks
are you sure you flashed the correct rom? are you sure it's the i9300?
if you flashed a stock rom, did a factory reset, and it's not working, send it in
I forgot to mention that I've also restore my backup through recovery mode and the bootloop problem still exist
I'm thinking about bringing my phone to Samsung Service Center but I can't because my binary counter aren't zero
Is there anyway using triangle away through recovery mode or Odin?
I think I've flashed the correct rom because I've used it before
Thanks
Just did a quick search and came across this. It says its a solution, i guess you have nothing else to loose.

I'm afraid i don't, a long shot but you could try flashing a 4.0.4 official firmware to see if that does anything. i had the same problem with my Tab 2 (not saying that this will work on the I9300) and i flashed back to 4.0.4 let it boot, then rooted it and flashed up to 4.1.2.
Good luck.

As i said above, my problem was with my Galaxy Tab 2 P3110 not my Galaxy s3 I9300 so which Rom i was using would be irrelevant to you. I was however running 4.1.2.

I know that, it's just that I heard Samsung blacklist old bootloader on 4.1.2 update so you can't install older bootloader
that's why I'm kinda afraid this trick wouldn't work because of it
Thanks for your help
Well, I was using the sungsonic rom on my Tab 2. With my S3 I did run 4.2.1 and my bluetooth and wifi AP didn't work which I read was possibly a bootloader issue and the fix was to flash back to 4.0.4 with odin and rooted then flashed to 4.1.2 and that fixed it for me.
Give it a go and let us know how you get on.
I've just flash my phone using ICS stock ROM and it work again
but now I have a new problem
1.my stock lockscreen doesn't work
2.when I press the power button it turn off my phone instead of giving me an option to turn off, restart, go into plan mode etc
3.I can't use my sim card because the phone doesn't start the program where I have to insert my simcard pin
Any idea what I should do now?
not sure about those. but for the sim have you gone to settings - security - sim card lock and had a look at the options there?

but I've managed to do it by using my other phone

Thanks you've been a great help to me :good:

kingroot 4.8.0 does work. it worked for me. I too got that frp lock before, but the latest kingroot can root the device. the first time it may say root unavailable, but on second attempt it should root your device, however it will trip your knox counter
