Just doing a reliability poll to see how everyone else is getting on with their phone so far. if you vote other please specify the problem so it can be added to the poll.
No way to delete emails from am IMAP emailaccount with stock samsung software. Emails always just reappear after next sync.
Random reboots
I voted 'Other'.
I get very occasional reboots. I've only had 3 or 4. Thinking about it, they seem to happen mainly after installing apps. It's not really a problem as the phone seems to works flawlessly after the reboot.
I also voted other. Wifi seems unreliable, often dropping out when selecting links in web pages. To gte it to work requires the wifi to be turned off and back on again. It's not browser specific as I've had it happen with both the stock browser and Dolphin HD. My router is set to G and the signal is strong enough according to Wifi analyser. I've tried changing channels but it seems to have made no difference.
Other than that the phone has exceeded my expectations.
My Sms and 3g crashed out the other night, but the phone gave no indication of it happening. This is unnerving as I'm a system administrator and rely upon sms to know when our servers are down.

I've had a few lockups and phone reboots.
I also had the phone get very hot due to SyncmIDS taking 96% CPU and running the battery down quickly...
Finally the audio keeps disappearing - no sounds of any sort and the only way to get it working again is to reboot...
This is the latest ROM (as of today) running TouchWiz and no attempts at root.
I also have occasional wifi problems where it sticks at getting an IP, so you have a wifi symbol but it doesn't connect, stays using 3G.
Apart from when it got hot, the battery life is no worse than the Galaxy S... but the hot battery run down has happened a few times now.
So it's not bad for beta software shame it's claimed to be release software
USB OTG is a nice feature.
Much faster than my Galaxy S though and brilliant screen.
More issues...
Must have crashed and shutdown (black screen - had to press and hold the power button).
It just decided to reboot while it was sitting on the desk (screen off), as I heard the boot music.
My phone occasionally turns off on its own. Very annoying. I'm thinking of getting a replacement in case it's a bad apple.
Mine's fine - great in fact. I've only had it a week though
I have been using the phone for 2 days now and I observed the following problems:
1. The WiFi signal is weak. I mean in the areas where my HTC Desire or iPhone 4 has one signal bar, the RAZR XT910 has no signal
2. The device does not wake-up sometimes. I have to press the power button several times. I guess this is lag from the android OS.
3. I have got some lags and errors from the android OS these two days. Hope some updates will come.
Please reply if you have similar issues with your device, especially the first two points.
Any 3G/UMTS problems?
I cant connect to 3G only EDGE.
I cant see 3G networks.

Agreed. I have an Australian Razr and have found the same issue. Haven't noticed an issue with speed but the signal strength indicator is definitely on average a bar down on my Galaxy.

Agreed too. Just happened then but instead of eventually waking it restarted. Has also happened once before but did eventually wake.

Despite the above still loving the phone.

This might be caused by in pocket detection. Disable it, might help.

I have an optus razr
I have none of the issues you are experiencing. The 'low' wifi signal strength is probably caused because you are connected to a wireless-g router. The razr is capable of wireless-n . I always get full signal bars connected to my 'n' router and 2-3 bars on my 'g' router.
No issues using the power button to turn the phone on/off. No lag in the interface. Miss my optical trackpad from my desire though
My router is wireless-n. I have just checked with the router and it have the weakest from all my mobiles.
Anyone else with this problem?
Try to set your router to support a/b/g + n WiFi. Sometimes WiFi chips can behave very strange.
the router is set to support a/b/g + n WiFi. I have htc desire with g Wi-Fi. the problem comes from the razr wifi.
okay so, I'm back on XDA Developers after owning an iPhone 3, 3Gs and 4 for a couple years (after I moved on from my old Nexus One) and I've had the RAZR for a couple days..
an issue I ran into on the first day of owning it, was constant rebooting when the phone was put to sleep.. I couldn't figure out what the issue was apart from that it only occurred when I was connected to wifi at home (didn't happen when I was connected to wifi anywhere else or when wifi was switched off)... so I went back to the store I got it from for a replacement.. hoping that the phone wasn't going to encouter the same rebooting issues, to my bad luck, it kept happening.. so I thought that maybe it wasn't just because I got myself a dud (both times)...
so today I did some diagnosing the issue which I localised to being my router settings... and luckily enough, it WAS the configuration of my router... I tried to see what the differences were between my configurations at home, and that of the wifi routers at work...
So apparently, the RAZR doesn't like the following (could be just one of them, or a combination of both):
- SSID Not Broadcasting (i.e. Hidden SSID's)
- MAC Address Filtering.
So I unhid my SSID and now it's broadcasting, and I also turned off MAC Address Filtering and using WPA security instead.. Now the phone doesn't constantly reboot. Just odd that the phone doesn't like those settings. Anyways, just happy the phone doesn't constantly reboot when put to sleep.
Hopefully these details help anyone else who ends up running into the rebooting issues when put to sleep.
Have a same problems with my RAZR. But all my wi-fi network is hidden and wpa2 personal secured, but phone randomly rebooting only at work.
home router - time capsule (apple)
work router - d-link DIR320.
P.S. if i disable wifi on phone- no rebooting at all.
Raze phone issues
I have a Razr sourced from Mobicity in Australia, bought from them to avoid the Optus bloat. I love this phone it is a gorgeous piece of kit, big beautiful screen, fast etc. BUT twice in the last two days I have received phone calls, answered them, and the caller was unable to hear me. And ultimately I need this to be a reliable phone first and a gorgeous bit of kit second.
Anybody else suffering similar problems. I hav had to revert back to my iphone4 because I have to have a reliable phone for work. I'd love to find the issue and am open to any suggestions. I am on Telstra by the way.
Ok. Problems I have encountered the 2 days I have used the phone:
Constant freeze. The first hour I used the phone it froze and rebooted 7 or 8 times.
Missing SocialLocation.apk. This caused a problem for the GPS in smart actions to work at all. Rooted phone and installed the app, and problem disappeared.
Tried to hard reset the phone because of all the rebooting problems. Guess what, on the first menu coming up where you can choose language, the phone froze and rebooted again. Now still it is constantly freezing and rebooting.
The freezing issues does not really have one specific app causing it. It can happen whenever doing whatever!
Anyone got a solution for this? Maybe a OTA update for Norwegian model?
For anyone mentioning the loss of WiFi signal, i think its suffering from what the iPhone 4 did, its dependant on where you hold the phone, i think the WiFi receiver on the phone is right about where youd hold the phone (in the middle at the back of the phone)
I noticed i was getting the dropping of signal bars, so decided to test it out, holding the phone normally the bars would drop 1 maybe 2 (in my living room where my desire gets full bars) then held it around the edges of the phone and instantly got full bars again.
I cant say this IS the problem you lot are having, but i definitely find holding the phone a little differently from what i normally do makes a huge difference for me.
Anyway just my 2 pence, hope this helps some of you guys.

I have problem 1 and 2 and weak wi-fi even when the phone is on my desk (not touching it with my hands that is)
1、yes, the wifi is weak
2、when the phone is being charging, sometimes I press the power button it wakes but go dark quickly, and I have to press the button again
I'm on my second Razr right now. My first had the blotches on the screen when using a black background. My second Razr has an unresponsive touchscreen a few times a day. I used to assume that my phone was locking up, but it went to sleep when I pressed the power button, and woke up with a working touchscreen. It will also respond to volume and screen rotation, just no touchscreen until you sleep/wake it.

Maybe you have pocket detection enabled, and when you put your hands in front of the sensor the phone screen shuts off, you don't even need to put your hands in front of the screen, sometimes all you need is to make a shadow in front of the sensors and you will see the phone screen shut off.
Happened to me sometimes, but i knew right away it was pocket detection shutting off the screen.
Thank God i have no complains at all about my phone, maybe a the wifi weakness problem, but for me it still have a very good speed at home on wifi, so don't care about the bars at all.
Alright, so this phone is becoming extremely frustrating.
The very first day i got the rezound I had it for literally five hours right from the store and I figured i would restart it to freshen things up after messing around with setting up my home screens.
Upon my phone turning back on, it booted up to the lockscreen... froze... turned itself on and then restarted itself and it LOOPS... it does NOT get past this point it bootloops the process
So I pulled the battery a few times, then did a factory reset in hboot and the problem fixed itself, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it was just a fluke so i reset everything back up... now three days later... I restarted the phone... upon turning it back on... SAME THING... BOOTLOOPING for no reason
I have never tried to temp root my phone or do anything whatsoever. This is a 100% legit phone but its becoming extremely annoying. Im returning this thing to VZW tonight and exchanging it for another one but im torn between exchanging it for a different rezound or just straight up returning it and waiting for the nexus december 8th to come out.
There have been ALOT of reported problems with this phone from my bootlooping... dead pixels... horrible battery life... etc
Dont reboot it anymore. There is an app in the market called fast reboot.when you need to freshen the phone just push the icon and it wiill get all the free memory in about 10-15 seconds.

im supose to be locked into a phone for the next 2 years that i cant reboot because it bootloops?
I have seen several people with boot-looping issues.
I'm not one of them and I don't think it is rampant with this phone. As for dead pixels and horrible battery life - those issues are even fewer and far between.
I wouldn't say there have been ALOT; probably a normal percentage of definite defective units mixed with people being unfamiliar with "how things work" on a phone like this.
..... my $.02
yeah im returning it at VZW tonight for a new unit... if the second one has any issues at all that have been described on this forum so sorry i gave them two chances... returning and waiting for nexus
You also gotta realize your hearing about a ton of issues with the phone, because only people with issues are posting about it. The other 90% that dont have issues arent posting.
Anytime a new phone comes out about 10% of them are duds with the same problems you are describing. When the nexus comes out their forum will be full of threads about problems with that phone. Read thru the android forums and no matter what the phone, you will see complaints about the phone. i have been reading them for years.

I had the phone for about 7 hours three have been fighting loops. My temporary solution is to disable LTE and put my standard size battery in the device ? I don't know why, but I have a hunch that my specific device may be verry sensitive to heat issues.
I called Verizon and they show the boot cycling a known issue and that it was submitted to HTC.
The phone does not seem overly hot to Me so my hunch could be wrong

Well my first Rez was a dud. It got as hot as 130F at one point! Returned it, now this second one will boot to a certain point then bootlop!! My evo never did this ****!!

Ok here's what I did. I shut down, removed the 4G sim and rebooted. It fully booted with no cell service of course. I went into the LTE switch and set it to CDMA auto. I shut down, re-inserted sim, booted up and it's working. Not sure if all that was necessary, but that's what I did...

Bootloops = Heat
In my experience, Bootloops are a result of heat. The phone heats up (or the radio heats up), the phone reboots on the thermal warning, but the bootup time is not nearly long enough to cool down a phone that hot, so once the OS (or kernel) loads to the point where it starts checking for thermals, it sees a heat issue, and reboots.
I have this on my DInc which I was hoping to replace with a Rezound because of these bootloops, but of course I am going to have sit and see if this subsides (or what the Nexus people say) because ...
... you are right, you do NOT want a phone for 2 years which bootloops when you use it for 15 minutes. It is hell.
What is causing all the heat on your phone ??

I asked and called Verizon again. I found someone with a little more info.
it seems that an above average amount of devices where sent out with a corrupted OS.
The corrupt Rom is having issues with its signal acquisition and causing issues.
its heating up from consistently trying to cycle thru signal acquisition etc etc.
I kinda believe they have nailed the issue- as we booted up the device with no back cover on,and bam!- a perfect phone that functions without the reboots ( Obviously no signal),but it works.
I have a replacement coming Tuesday.
Hmmm i think mine has something like that. BUT i dont do it so much.
Had the same issue with mine last night. Removed Sim disabled all network services and replaced Sim and it worked when I enabled networks again. Mine has been set to cdma only also. I think it might be an issue when authenticating with Verizon that somehow crashes the phone.

Let's hope that is the problem since I haven't had it and would hate to see it be a hardware problem. That is something that can be fixed with an update. I think phones are getting to thin for their own good. Cases problem don't help either.
For what it is worth, my phone is charging, streaming music, and I'm on the internet with auto brightness on. The temp is reading 100F. When I first got it, I was trying to kill the battery so I streamed Netflix over 4g and it got warm but never rebooted. Hope they figure this out for y'all.

I got stuck bootlooping related to the fb chat widget. As soon as it would load, sense would restart and after 10-20 the phone started rebooting.
Non stop. I got it to boot with battery cover off (no reception).
Cover on, it would restart as soon as the lock screen was up.
Battery pull, no help.
So I did a battery pull, guessed volume down +power and choose factory reset.
No fb chat widget and no issues so far

struggling radio = heat = reboot = still hot = reboot ...
Same as I currently have on my incredible.
They may be able to do something in software, but it is really hardware. the radio struggling to get a signal is not a software issue.

I just got my new DNA yesterday for a whopping $1.00 through my workplace, and a few hours after activating I started getting completely random hard reboots. The screen would lock up, go black, and commence restarting on its own. These became increasingly frequent but are still hard to reproduce and are frequent but random. No rhyme or reason. I did multiple factory resets, have unlocked the boot loader, flashed a new Rom, and am going to try an aftermarket kernel, but so far nothing has fixed it. They're still persistent and irritating, making the phone nearly unusable as a daily driver. Im more than likely going to have to exchange the phone, but does anyone have a clue what could be causing this? I'm so far beyond disappointed. I love the phone but this is unacceptable. If I can fix this without having to wait another half a week or more to get a replacement I would be more than happy to.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
And to elaborate on my issue, when it freezes up, tgeres typically white flickering "tears" on the screen before it reboots. Whatever is currently on the phone freezes there and then it looks like tearing artifacts in the screen start to show up in a few spots before it reboots. I'm completely lost here.
Also, flashing a new kernel didn't help st all, so I'm out of options.

My phone is completely stock and some apps can lock up the device and cause a reboot. I can replicate it everytime. Walmart app is the worst one, evrrytime I set the store and return to the main screen, boom! It is exactly what you describe, looks like a jarbled mess or random tears.

Sounds like a problem with the phone. I don't think the stock ROM on the DNA suffers from random reboots. I would just exchange it.
That said, my wife's DNA (although not mine) did reboot a couple of times in over a month. She has all sorts of funky live wallpapers and other stuff running though.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately mine isn't simply app related. I put in an order for a replacement device so hopefully that will take care of it. It's gotten progressively worse over time and it was to the point that it would lock up on reboot instantly and would start running incredibly hot while frozen up. I'm positive there's a serious hardware defect in mine at this point. Hopefully the replacement fixes all this.
Has anyone started or has had issues with the V10 becoming progressively non-responsive?
My wife and I both have the V10, mine being recently replaced due to what looked like memory corruption as icons started showing as grey blocks randomly even after a restore from my pc. Hers is starting to exhibit multiple of the same issues plus more even after a restore from pc:
Not powering on requiring battery pull
No longer accepting double tap to wake/sleep
Icons starting to become grey blocks
slowness to responses
Phone calls are not coming through at times
Verizon has replaced my phone but the fact that hers is starting to show the exact same issues has me wondering if there is a bigger issue to these phones. My new phone has started to show the issues of double tap not responding, there is not an app that is causing wakelock or draining battery. I don't have unusual apps loaded on either phones and have tried going a few days fully stock and it is still exhibiting the issues.
If there is, is there anyway to get Verizon to move us out of these phones if it continues as I'm not going to have a phone that is going to constantly have issues.
after they replace it 3 times you can generally negotiate a different model.
My family's two V10s are starting to show their age. Okay, my wife's crapped out last week so it is definitely aged. The phone got really hot, drained the battery, and kept rebooting. Then it got locked into an eternal bootloop. The only way I got it to boot was to put it in the freezer. I had connected a cable to it and was able to get most of the data off running the cable out of the freezer to a laptop. I still have some other stuff to recover. Hopefully the freezer trick works again.
But now my V10 is having radio issues. It switches between 4G, 3G, and 1x constantly. I'll be in a location that I know has a 4G signal and pull out my phone only to see 1x. The other day it wouldn't find the GPS signal if it was plugged in. Time to backup my data and see if Vz will replace it.
Sad thing is that I declined the insurance coverage. So once my 1 year warranty is up I'll have to buy a new phone. Easy come, easy go.
You can still add insurance to the lines it's never to late. When one customer service rep says no hang up and call again and it doesn't hurt to play stupid and nice. For some reason they do what you ask if they feel smarter then you and I.

My v10 started running hotter than normal and my battery drain was more. I replaced the old battery with a new one and the problem seems to have gone away. In my case I think the battery was getting too hot and was making the phone run hot and unresponsive.
