[Q] Opening clickable addresses in Nokia Drive - Nokia Lumia 920

Hey Guys, I haven't figured this one out:
How do you open addresses (from contacts or in emails) in Nokia Drive?
I want to be able to click on an address and get directions from current location.
Currently, when I click on an address, it opens in Nokia maps and I can get directions but I'd like GPS directions in Nokia Drive.
Is there a way to do it?

I'm not sure it can be directly opened in drive, but when it opens in the standard maps app, and you tap directions, it will automatically start up Nokia drive...very convenient

Ok, got it! Actually, when I click directions in the map app, there is a small arrow at the bottom which says "Drive". When I click that, it opens the Nokia Drive app.
Thanks!

[Q] Location field in calendar app

I previously had a Milestone and in the calendar app there any address I entered into the location field would be clickable and offer an option to open maps or navigate to it. In the samsung app I can add a location but it is not clickable. I have seen that you can open the map from the edit screen but this seems only to let you get a single map image rather than giving full functionality. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?
Edit: I tried installing Jorte calendar and that has clickable address links working. When viewing the same event in both only Jorte allows me to click through.
Looking into this it seems the feature is simply missing from the samsung app rather than not activated and has been since the original galaxy. Is this something that can easily be modded?
I am needing this feature as well. When I had my captivate, stock did not have this but with the cognition rom it seemed to work. I don't know how it was modded to work. However, when I updated my captivate to the 2.2 stock firmware I897UCKB1, it had this feature. Now that I have a SGS2 its very disappointing that it doesn't have this again. I use the Clickable address location in calendar every day to get to appointments. It is so frustrating to have to open the appointment, edit the appointment, copy the address from location, hit home, open maps, hit search, paste the address, and hit search again while driving. This could all be done with one click if the location was clickable. I am willing to donate $15 to anyone able to give a solution using the SGS2 stock calendar app. Thanks.

The best i could think of is to do a search of the location before hand copy then copy the link to the description part on the calender entry. Also add the location snapshot (this is just a picture as you might have aready noticed). Now when the appointment pops up, just click the link(set it up to open with maps). This way you can getting the navigation running from the appointment itself.
add another one to the list of people who really need this feature.
i have just come from a year with a htc desire and its something i really miss.
This is a silly oversight. Something that other apps on the market implement without issue. I'm disappointed!

[Q] Send location / directions to someone?

Is there any way to send your current gps location or directions to your gps locaton to someone?
I used to be able to this on my Galaxy Note but I can't seem to find a way on the Lumia.
If you drop a pin on, say, Caring Cross Road, in Maps and click it and choose send via text or email, the email just says something like "checkout Charing Cross Road" and not contain map reference to your exact location!
Is there any way to do these things?
I'm using Whatsapp to send my location. Also there are some Apps that use Google Latitude gMaps is one of them. Also with gMaps you can share the exact coordinates if you prefer this way of sharing.
There is an app echoecho available in the marketplace. I've never used it, but it seems to be made exactly for this job...

[Q] Google Maps directions - send to e-mail or save for offline?

I've got a Nexus 7, which means no data connection. Which means that I can get directions when I'm at home, but unless I do it immediately before leaving the house and make sure that it stays in the Maps app, navigation is useless.
Is there no way to send direction via e-mail from inside the Google Maps app? Right now I have to go to my desktop and get directions there in order to send them.
That can't make sense. I must be missing something. Right?

[Q] Question about Transfer

Hi all,
I have a question,
Im using a smartphone Galaxy Alpha and also Tablet Galaxy Tab S both Connected on LTE.
Im a courier and i wanted to see if this would be possible somehow.
I have a list of orders where to go in my Gmail which is being send every morning.
Im currently using my tablet only so i open Gmail , open the email and click Navigate which opens a link http google maps, but i have it default so it opens a Route 66 Instead of google maps.
i was wondering if its possible somehow to open the Gmail or any email client on my smartfone and send the link to the tablet somehow so it opens a new navigation on the tablet as everytime i have to press recent key, click on gmail and click on the order in the email to open new navigation and its just pain in the but where if i would have my phone with the list of it , it would be open all the time and i would just click Navigate and it would send it to the tablet.
Thanks for helping.

I'm not understanding the exact problem you're presenting.
You use your phone to open the email and want to be able to open the navigation to your tablet without any extra work?

yes, in phone i open gmail, in the gmail email i have a list of postcodes with Navigate button, when i click on it it opens http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=51.87603,-2.21719 which is maps but in android you can select which programs open it so i have it as default route 66 but thats not the issue.
i want to send this link to my tablet thru bluetooth. example,
on my phone i click navigate and it sends the link to my tablet and opens a navigation.

Have you tried NFC? You can touch two phones together and share certain things.
PM me so I can have you forward me an email so I can test out some methods to get that to work. You can delete personal stuff when you forward it just leave the link for the maps.

I thought about nfc as well but they have to touch each other and the phone and tablet will be next to each other. my tablet is build in the car dash and the phone is in a phone holder right next to it.
i will forward you the email but i just need you to pm me the email.

I sent the PM. After I get the email and try a few things I will post my solution here so others can benefit.

I could not get route 66 to run so I used Google maps.
Pair your devices via bluetooth.
- Open the directions in Maps
- Click the route you want to take
- Hit the three dots in the top right corner
- Hit share directions
- Hit bluetooth and select the other device
On the other device you have to accept it but you should be able to check "Always allow".
After it transfers, click on the notification, then the file and now it should load it on the tablet. It does seem lengthy but after you get used to it and use it for more than a day you'll be able to do it seemlessly.
Hope this helped.

Stock Calendar Map issue

In EMUI 9, stock Calendar app added "Map" button when creating a new appointment, to find the location.
However in order to work properly you need to press that button and find the location by scrolling and moving the map to the correct place. There is no search option to search for the location you want.
In addition, if you simply type the location you want and save the appointment, the "Show on Map" button in the event opens another app (amap) which does not work in Europe, so you cannot navigate there.
Does anyone have the same issue? Any solution to this, apart from using another app?
I have tested right now:
- I can create a new task without entering the location
- if I write the place name manually, I can't open it in the map, nothing is happening after pressing the location button
- if I select the place on the map, I can open it later in Firefox and Google Maps
IMO, stock Calendar app works good.
A pain in the ass work around is manually typing address in, then when you want to view it on map, click and long hold the address and it will open Google maps and search the address.
It sucks that it won't do it by default, but the weather information on the calendar/schedule needs the location set properly to pull weather data
But the Europe address seems to work for me

Thank you very much for your reply. Indeed your suggestion works, with one small tradeoff, the address should be put in English. If I put the address in Greek (my native language) it will not work. But for sure is better than nothing. Thank you very much

Correct, this is how it works, I would prefer though to have a search option on the map, instead of selecting it. But we will have to wait for Huawei to improve stock Calendar app for it. Thank you
