Phone: XT910 Razr Maxx
State: Brand new
I'd soft bricked my phone and used Eternity Project's EU Final ICS Fastboot files to restore back to normal using a Factory Cable.
The problem is that when plugged in, the phones shows 100% charged and as soon as I unplug the phone, the battery meter becomes 0% and powers off! When I keep it charging overnight, it retains charge for a little while longer, but stills powers off randomly. When I place it on charge, it shows 100% again, but becomes 0% as soon as it is unplugged! I cannot access stock recovery as it shows the 'dead android robot' image! What can I do?
Tried all the following:
- Safestrap and Custom ROMs (same result)
- BMM and Custom ROMs (same result)
Any ideas?
When you see the dead Android simply push & hold vol + and vol - at the same time. From there it should take you to stock recovery

Hey thanks! That did the trick. I did a data/cache wipe and rebooted. Still facing the battery drain problem. Any idea what the battery problem is all about? When plugged in, it shows 100%, when unplugged, it just dies out on me!
If you still have bmm you can wipe battery stats - but i doubt that will do much for your problem. Fingers crossed your battery isn't stuffed

I know the title is slightly confusing, but is there any way to make my phone not going into that charging mode when you restart and the battery shows up? I know I can have it go into recovery, but I don't want it to do either,I just want it to go straight into booting up, just like my OG Droid used to do, any help would be greatly appreciated

In other words, if your phone battery dies you want it to boot when you plug it back in instead of going to the charge animation?

YES! EXACTLY! It's a feature i used to hate because of battery calibration issues, but i miss it so much!
Nope you can't (and shouldn't if you could), with the GB update however, once it's in charge mode you can turn the phone off now by pressing the button.

Sadly you can't boot until there is enough charge in the battery.... meaning you have to connect it, then remember to come back and turn it on so you don't miss calls, etc.

On froyo you had to wait 5 minutes, unplug then boot then plug back in. With gingerbread you can boot up right away from charge mode.

You just need to plug it in to a wall charger
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA Premium App
okay i figured it out. Pull the battery from the phone. Press and hold the down volume buttom while plugging the phone into a wall charger. You should see "fastboot" at the top. Then very quickly almost simultaneously press volume down then volume up it should quickly reboot into clockwork if done right.

It sounds like your battery needs to be charged. Get an external charger, or charge it in another phone. Once it is charged, you may need to do a hard reset.
I can't go to bootloader so I can't flashing RSD
battery is full, after charger with dekstop charger
If you can't get into bootloader with volume up and power, or with volume down and power button, then I think you have a brick.

maybe my photon have short-circuit.
because it was hot on the screen and the battery.
but I don't know! how to fix?
pls help me how to fix short-circuit on motorola photon
Take battery out, cut a usb cable(any kind), red wire to positive and black wire to negative. Plug cable into changer. Wait 30 minutes. Unplug and try again

If you have a brick....you're kinda outta luck. But.....there should be a stock file to flash via SBF if you can still get to that part. Not sure if you can......
I had the same looking problem. But my screen and battary was cool. When I tried to turn it on, nothing happend, even when I connected a charged, led showed nothing.
To make it work I did such things:
-firsty take the battery out for a while, then put in
-connect via USB to PC and push power button
-without disconnecting it from UBS, take out the battery for a second and put it in again.(then it turnes on by it selfe, without pushing a poer button. If it not pappens try to push it.)
I repeated this a lot of times, but at the end it turned on)))
thanks for all solution
I will try one by one
I will tell again the result
Also, pull battery, let both cool down, freeze battery, then charge phone. Had to do it with a Sony Erricson x10a

Did you calibrate your battery? You are supposed to everytime you install a new rom. Charge to 100 percent, boot to recovery, wipe battery stats, drain the battery down till phone powers off, plug it in and boot to android, charge to 100 again without break.

If you let the phone power down by itself, when you plug it in it will boot to the charge only screen. If you hold the power button as you plug it in and keep it held it will skip that screen and boot straight to android. And yeah, try not to use the phone while its charging.

Whats not working? The holding the power button thing? Thats ok, it doesnt screw up the process of calibrating. It will let you hold the power button and boot to android from the charging screen once it registers anything more than 0 percent. It also takes a few days of use after the calibration to really see a change. Youre just reading a little too far into it. Just boot to 100, wipe bat stats, drain it to 0, boot it back up and let it charge to 100. Use your phone normally for a few days after that and youll notice the difference.

I tried the USB cable. The charger also but nothing is working.
I don't know how to start it.
Any type of help will be very appreciated.
Phone does not turn on when battery is <5%. Charge your phone using the original Motorola charger, preferably use wall charger for say 30 mins at least. If it does not work, try different plug point.

I just had this issue last night. The phone wouldn't turn on but the notification light was bright white and wouldn't go out. I just left it plugged into the computer overnight and by the time I woke up, the phone was on and had a 61 percent charge this was over a period of about 7 hours.

But in my case its a bit different, the notification light is no more blinking or something. It's just the black screen. Not turning on at all.
Tonight I will leave my phone on charge for more than 7 hours for sure. I really hope it starts.
Thanks for the reply.

I have ordered for a factory cable. I am gonna try putting up a new ROM on the phone. Let's see if that works.
I recalled one more thing, before my phone got bricked, the day prior to that I used battery calibration application on my phone. Do you think that would have affected my phone?
