Hi
Newbie question - I saw a Sumvision Cyclone Media Player Slim Plus online running Android 4.0 which seemed to offer 1Gb ROM and 2 GB SD,,,,when delivered Android seemed to report 502Mb for Internal Storage and 236Mb for SD.....I read this as 512Mb and 256Mb but this did not match what I expected.
After contacting Sumvision they insisted that the label for the device "M3" was a 1Gb model - they said the above was shown because Android does not show a true ROM size. They said a 3rd party app may show true storage.
I tried 6 different storage managers from Play Store...all showed 502Mb/236Mb.
I don't know if the story from Sumvision is baloney.....please could someone advise me......on top of all that I don't know ROM/RAM differentiation on Android ??
Thanks

This has been touched upon in the forums. OS seems to be the verdict.
Search previous threads for better details.
Sorry to be so curt, just noticed the number of views and lack of replies...

Click to collapse
The 16 GB (or 32 GB) are split off into internal memory and an sdcard memory and when you connect the device you only see the last one.
But the internal memory exists also and is used for the OS and all APPs (the pre-installed and the once you installed). Also all data like mails, contacts etc. are stored in the internal memory. This is the way Android is build.
And this means also that the 7.3 GB also contains free memory!
Just got my x7 today its really good however it stated on the sellers ebay add that its 16gb nand flash storage built in which is the storage side of it i think? but im only showing in settings/storage/total space - 3.94GB, available - 3.35gb, apps - 285mb, cached data - 95.87mb.
am i reading somthing wrong or have i been sold the 4gb model if there is one? If someone could help explain plz i would appreciate it.
Ok just messed about with the x7 and found that 4gb is partial storage of the whole 16gb i scrolled down more and saw all the details in regards to the namd flash
I would like to be able to make an Image of the SD card in my Kdlinks A200. The unit runs Jellybean 4.2.2
I have already tried making an image with Win32Diskimager and several others I could find. But when I copy the image to a new card the unit will not boot or do anything.
I was wondering there is some special way this has to be done ?
Here is the units system specs
State of the Art Technology: New Cortex A9 Solution with Mali-400MP2 GPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 4GB T-Flash; 4000+ DMIPS Computing Power; Android 4.2.2 Pre-Installed. Support Dolby Digital 5.1/7.1, TrueHD 5.1/7.1, DTS-MA and DTS-HD.
I attached a zip file with a photo of the system board.
I would really appreciate any help I can get with this
Derek.
I guess there's not much point asking a question here !
Hello everybody,
I bought an android tv stick but i noticed that the space to install applications was pretty low 500 mb which is not enough, but the space to store the files was 5 gb!
My question is is there a way to increase the memory to install applications, or to make as samsung use the space to store the files and applications at the same time? Give me all possible solutions ...
thanks for reading
