Xperia U FXP CM9 problem - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, i just installed FXP 150 on my Xperia U(ST25a, unlocked BL) and everything was fine until I restored my apps using titanium backup. After a reboot everything started to FC and I went to recovery did a wipe and rebooted. Here is the problem: In the robot animation it started to randomly freeze and it refused to boot up completely, I still can go to recovery but after several wipes and flashes I just don't know what to do.
I also used flashtool to flash stock ICS, It booted once, did a lot of FC's and died... Flashed again FXP 150 using fastboot and recovery...
Do you have any ideas about what is happening to my phone?

Wrong kernel maybe
Most probably you have not flashed the CM kernel. Extract and Flash the "boot.img" in the cm9 zip using flashtool.
To flash a kernel-
1. Turn off phone
2. Open flashtool
3. Click on thunder icon
4. Select fastboot mode
5. Once fastboot toolbar opens up, connect your phone with volume up pressed(blue LED should ight up)
6. Select "flash kernel"
7. Chose the CM boot.img and flash.
Reboot again and when the initial logo appears, keep presseing Vol UP to reach recovery and flash the CM9 ZIP again.
Hope I helped.....
PS- Make sure you have bootloader unlock

Thanks but I already did that, and as stated before I have unlocked BL. I believe that something has gone wrong with the flash...

try this .
make sure you have a way move data to your phone from recovery ( i dont know how to do this i dont have a u only a go with sd)
follow the instructions in post 2
then boot to recovery go to mounts
mount /system , /cashe
format both of them
go back to main cwm screen
advanced
wipe davik
then run fxp flash the rom zip
clear cashe
wipe davik again
reboot and just leave it for 5

Ok, this has gone from bad to pretty messed up... Now the phone won't enter flash mode or fastboot mode(no button combination works!). The only thing that works is the small notification led on top of the phone that goes red every time I charge the phone or I plug it to my PC. Any ideas?

Pull the battery out and put it back after a few secs. Load up a stock Rom on flashtool. Start flash and connect your phone by the flashmode button combination when prompted. This should start flashing
Tapatalked !

if yout try to power on the phone do you get blinking led if you do this means theres not enouh charge so give it 10 mins on charge then do a hard reboot hold (vol+ and power or vol- and power)
then try to enter fastboot or flashboot

I think this recovery.img was not walid... I did that with my phone too, and nothing appear in screen. U have to flash another kernel (i suggest, the doomlords kernel). After that turn on the phone, and press the volume up, when doomlord logo appears.
hope it helps.
How are you getting on is your phone back on?

If you tried the methods above with no joy it obviously isn't installed. With the cwm you are trying is there a .bat file in the download on your computer. If so while your phone is plugged into PC run the bat file and follow onscreen instructions. Then try launching cwm again. If you havnt managed it yet leave a message and I'll find it.

I am posting here as I am facing the same problem.
I have been following this guide to flash my phone with CM10 from ICS stock rom.
h#ttp#://androidlegend.com/xperia-s-update-to-android-4-1-jelly-bean-with-cyanogenmod-10/
I have successfully followed everything done previously, including Unlocking the bootloader, getting root access, installing busybox, using RecoverX to install CWM.
I copied the FXP150-cm-10.1-20121209-UNOFFICIAL-mint.zip to sdcard, is it this that is required to flash to ROM or the boot.img that is inside the zip?
And I am stuck on that part where I have to reboot into recovery mode. I have tried
a) Connecting my phone and opening fastboot mode and then try to keep the vol up pressed to open recovery mode.
b) Without connecting, powering my phone on and pressing volume up. But there is no blue LED
c) Without connecting, powering my phone on and continuously tapping on sony logo. After that Xperia logo.
But I can not enter the recovery mode.
A little guidance please?
Flashing CM needed a seperate kernel. Keep following the instructions to use fastboot to flash the boot.img
Power the phone off. Hold vol + then plug the USB cable in. There should be a blue light.
Poorly written tutorial IMO. Should be flashing kernel first then the rom to save some panic.
I asked the Sony-Support, they say that there is no recovery-mode.(for Xperia U, but they are the "same")

Guys, dont ask Sony cause stock ROM doesnt have recovery.
If you want to flash CM you must fastboot the boot.img inside the zip file, before that put the ROM into your phone memory, power on the phone and keep pressing vol up, enter into CM recovery and flash rom from phone memory. Wipe before and after.
Agree, stock ROM doesn't have Recovery Mode. When you turn your phone with VOL_UP, nothing happens :cyclops:

try flashing it again, maybe your first flash had an error.
Met the same problem and here what I did:
-Take off the battery in 10 minutes and put it back
-Plug the charger into the phone and do the logging in CWM steps (press and hold the volumme up, press the power button).
Finally it worked, hope this can help

[Q] Xperia Sola not booting to recovery mode?

So right now i don't know if i bricked my phone already or what coz i'm really new to this flashing and i just want to flash my phone coz it is slow as hell, i just have basic google apps install on the stock sony ROM but still is slow. What i did in order is this:
1. Unlocked the bootloader [success]
2. Downloaded the Cyanogenmod 10-pepper and uploaded it to the sdcard together with gApps [success]
3. Copied the boot.img to fastboot folder [success]
4. Boot to fastboot [success]
5. Using fastboot --> fastboot flash boot boot.img [success]
6. Using fastboot --> fastboot reboot [success]
This is where the problem occurs, from what i've followed, after reboot i will see the boot screen (which i did, the FreeXperia boot screen displayed) and i should press the volume+ to enter the recovery screen, but nothing happens, screen just goes black.
I re-flash the boot.img again and reboot but still it's not booting to recovery.
What did i miss here? I hope you can help me and be a little not harsh coz really, i just woke-up this morning got tired of my phone and researched all afternoon and then now i just don't know what happened. Thanks and much appreciated in advance.
@kurliyon
Use volume down button. Press it several times when your phone boots and you will enter in cwm.
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache( from advanced menu/.
Flash cm10 amd gapps.
Enjoy

[Q] sola doesn't boot after flashing a zip (soft-bricked?)

i was using some jelly bean sony rom by divaksh (it had cwm touch) and i wanted to try the new cm10.2 rom by munjeni
i downloaded the cm10.2, put it on my external sd card through a usb micro-sd reader and then put the µsd back in the phone
i selected "reboot to recovery" from the phone's power menu (i had an xposed module for more power menu options)
then i noticed that the phone didn't reboot, but it had turned off completely
i held the power button and the phone vibrated but didn't power on
it powered on on the second try, i then went to the cwm recovery by tapping the volume down key
(i was going to make a backup of the current system, but i forgot it lol)
i flashed the cm10.2 zip (cm10.2_pepper-ota-eng.root_Build.1.zip) without doing any wipes, because i wanted to get to the correct version of cwm recovery
(i would've properly done the wipes/formats from the cwm recovery that is in the cm10.2 kernel)
it finished flashing the zip and i rebooted my phone, but then it didn't power on anymore
now when i hold down the power button, the phone makes a short vibration but nothing else
.
if i plug the phone to a charger, the led lights up (red) for approximately a second and then turns off
if i hold down "volume-down" and the power button, the phone vibrates once and flashes the led (green)
i've tried going into flashmode and fastboot mode but the light doesn't stay on for long and sony mobile flasher doesn't even notice the phone even though the drivers are installed
the "hold down power button and vol-up"-thing also works but it doesn't seem to do anything else than vibrate
what should i do?
Is your bootloader unlocked?

what?
Is it unlocked?
When I bricked my xperia p I flashed a custom kernel which allowed me to enter Cwm and then flashed the stock rom. I am new to this flashing thing so I recommend that you ask someone experienced what to do. I just shared my experience of recovering from a softbrick. Don't flash new things blindly but ask someone experienced before doing so.

the bootloader is unlocked, and i'm not new to this "flashing thing"
anyone? the phone still hasn't woken up
download firmware for your p and flash using flashtool...

Have you used flashtool to flash firmware before on that PC?
Have you installed flashtool and it's drivers (sola, flash & fastboot mode).?
Make sure the phobe is off, press power + volume up untill you feel 1 + 3 vibrations and see if it stay in flash mode longer.
Just Flash stock
i have nearly the same problem
my xperia u was running with 4.1 then i restored my ta backup its mine not for someone else then i pressed reboot instead of power off then my phone is dead no vibration no led except the one when i plug it to charger just one red led then nothing

how? the phone doesn't boot and flashtool doesn't recognize it
Same problem here, I think that Munjeni's post is bad written.
Ok, I fixed it, follow my instructions as they goes. You have to flash the .img kernel that CM10.2.zip comes from.
For flashing it, go as follows...
First try to install the following drivers, with Flashtool. The executable is in C:\\Flashtool\drivers
Run as adminsitrator and follow screen instructions, allow any driver install.
When it's ready, try to plug in the phone in fastboot mode (turn off, hold power and vol up and release power button, led has to turn blue/violet/pink, whatever, a color like that)
Run flashtool.
Flashtool will recognize the phone as the log says, if its not try to install drivers mannually.
If it's recognized then click the black lightning button and select fast boot mode.
At the right side click "Select kernel to flash" and browse the kernel that comes in the .zip. (in the file you've downloaded you have to extract a boot.ini because is the main kernel to make the ROM work, so you have to put somewhere else, I prefer desktop)
When selected, log writes all the procedure until it show an "OKAY[time]" message.
Finally click "Reboot device into system" in the center side and wait until boots.
It should be working now, I spent a lot of hours investigating, but finally I fixed, hope it works for you too!
If there's an error or some question, feel free to post.

That was "the long run" for windows-guys.
For Linux - no drivers needed anyways - just download fastboot from anywhere and look for kernel. Put them in a personal directory. Open and run in a terminal (some have to be login as su) "fastboot flash boot kernel.img" (or whatever kernel is called...), plug phone in usb, while press and hold power and volume-up buttons. Blue LED comes shining and terminal tell you the flashing.
Unplug or type "fastboot reboot" to re-start phone.
Sure, you also can use FlashTool, too. But for only flashing a kernel it is not needed. Only for flashing stockrom ftf. But this is another story.

Hi ! Dont worry u r not the first to face this problem i also face this problem yesterday.. my phone was on JB 4.1.2 i download custom ICS rom and install it through CWM Recovery mode, when my new custom Rom starts it stucks on Boot screen and then nothing happens i tried but my phone was in danger... i was worried then i install flash tool and downlaod ICS Rom for Flastool and install that after severals trys i was now ion ICS v4.0.4..

If I wrote for Windows 8 there will be more than that, believe me. Managing Android with Linux is a lot easier, from flashing to programming.
But, face it, Windows is the standard here.

CWM Stuck on logo sk17i (mango, CM11)

Hi, today i decided to bring back the phone ROM from CM13 to CM11 so i started to flash the boot.img.
After that i tried to access the recovery menu to install GAPPs but i was not able to to that.
I'm stuck in cwm logo where it says
"CWM-base Recovery v6.0.5.1
Swipe up/down to change selections.
Swipe to the right for enter.
Swipe to the left for back."
The only thing i can do is to unplug the battery, to reset the phone.
It's a bit strange because is not the first time that i change a rom.
The rom i have downloaded is the CM11 from the XperiaLegacy site, i have installed the same version just one or two month ago!
I also tried with the latest one. Nothing changed.
This is what i have done to flash kernel and install the rom
1. I've connect phone to usb while pressing vol. up (fastboot)
2. I've opened Flashtool and I've clicked the bolt icon (driver already installed).
3. I've clicked on fastboot mode
4. on the right, I've clicked "select flash kernel" button
5. I've selected the boot.img previously extracted from the rom.zip
6. I've unpluged usb, and while continuously pressing vol. down key, I've powered it on.
So my question is, why today my phone decided to stop working? I think the steps are correct, aren't they?
What i can do to fix it?

moto e dont let me enter in fastboot . no brick

My phone has problems after calibrating the battery with an app I think that was the beginning, the phone when I turn it off is stuck on the power off does not let me enter fastboot or recovery mode. It does not turn on with just pressing the button I have to press it several times or for several seconds to start it, when the same restart is left off it does not restart only, I try to restore it from the system and it does not stay off, I have a rom 6.0.1 The truth is that I do not want to reinstall the stock rom but I can not get into fastboot mode because of the problem and it always costs me to turn it on, everything started when installing a program for. Calibrate battery.
The phone is not brick i used al day long but i have this problem..

This solve mi problem to enter in fastboot mode i flash the firmware KitKat 4.4.4 un evereything OK put when i turn of the phone the same problem don't restart the phone i need to pulse for many time the button for my moto e turn on why this happen even if i reinstal the firmware don't solvet
Try to erase cache from fast boot itself, ( fastboot erase cache) and remove the recovery (fastboot erase recovery) then flash the latest twrp again( google the procedure if u don't know)
Then again wipe ALL partitions except the SD card where u have put the custom ROM( I recommend using a custom ROM like lineage os(stable)(latest nightly) instead of stock)
Also don't restore any previously backed up data from twrp, and after successfully flashing the ROM let it boot. It might take time( 15 mins). Also ensure that your phone is charged > 50%
@norbertoramones You can have a look at my XDA DevDB project: Unbrick hard bricked Motorola Moto E - Aravind V. Nair (XDA)
It might be of help. If you can get fastboot to work, use the 'Fastboot Unbrick.bat' script I have made and everything will be back to normal. ARe you able to boot to the OS?
