CWM Stuck on logo sk17i (mango, CM11) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi, today i decided to bring back the phone ROM from CM13 to CM11 so i started to flash the boot.img.
After that i tried to access the recovery menu to install GAPPs but i was not able to to that.
I'm stuck in cwm logo where it says
"CWM-base Recovery v6.0.5.1
Swipe up/down to change selections.
Swipe to the right for enter.
Swipe to the left for back."
The only thing i can do is to unplug the battery, to reset the phone.
It's a bit strange because is not the first time that i change a rom.
The rom i have downloaded is the CM11 from the XperiaLegacy site, i have installed the same version just one or two month ago!
I also tried with the latest one. Nothing changed.
This is what i have done to flash kernel and install the rom
1. I've connect phone to usb while pressing vol. up (fastboot)
2. I've opened Flashtool and I've clicked the bolt icon (driver already installed).
3. I've clicked on fastboot mode
4. on the right, I've clicked "select flash kernel" button
5. I've selected the boot.img previously extracted from the rom.zip
6. I've unpluged usb, and while continuously pressing vol. down key, I've powered it on.
So my question is, why today my phone decided to stop working? I think the steps are correct, aren't they?
What i can do to fix it?

Xperia U FXP CM9 problem

Hi, i just installed FXP 150 on my Xperia U(ST25a, unlocked BL) and everything was fine until I restored my apps using titanium backup. After a reboot everything started to FC and I went to recovery did a wipe and rebooted. Here is the problem: In the robot animation it started to randomly freeze and it refused to boot up completely, I still can go to recovery but after several wipes and flashes I just don't know what to do.
I also used flashtool to flash stock ICS, It booted once, did a lot of FC's and died... Flashed again FXP 150 using fastboot and recovery...
Do you have any ideas about what is happening to my phone?
Wrong kernel maybe
Most probably you have not flashed the CM kernel. Extract and Flash the "boot.img" in the cm9 zip using flashtool.
To flash a kernel-
1. Turn off phone
2. Open flashtool
3. Click on thunder icon
4. Select fastboot mode
5. Once fastboot toolbar opens up, connect your phone with volume up pressed(blue LED should ight up)
6. Select "flash kernel"
7. Chose the CM boot.img and flash.
Reboot again and when the initial logo appears, keep presseing Vol UP to reach recovery and flash the CM9 ZIP again.
Hope I helped.....
PS- Make sure you have bootloader unlock
Thanks but I already did that, and as stated before I have unlocked BL. I believe that something has gone wrong with the flash...
try this .
make sure you have a way move data to your phone from recovery ( i dont know how to do this i dont have a u only a go with sd)
follow the instructions in post 2
then boot to recovery go to mounts
mount /system , /cashe
format both of them
go back to main cwm screen
advanced
wipe davik
then run fxp flash the rom zip
clear cashe
wipe davik again
reboot and just leave it for 5
Ok, this has gone from bad to pretty messed up... Now the phone won't enter flash mode or fastboot mode(no button combination works!). The only thing that works is the small notification led on top of the phone that goes red every time I charge the phone or I plug it to my PC. Any ideas?
Pull the battery out and put it back after a few secs. Load up a stock Rom on flashtool. Start flash and connect your phone by the flashmode button combination when prompted. This should start flashing
Tapatalked !
if yout try to power on the phone do you get blinking led if you do this means theres not enouh charge so give it 10 mins on charge then do a hard reboot hold (vol+ and power or vol- and power)
then try to enter fastboot or flashboot

[Q] sola doesn't boot after flashing a zip (soft-bricked?)

i was using some jelly bean sony rom by divaksh (it had cwm touch) and i wanted to try the new cm10.2 rom by munjeni
i downloaded the cm10.2, put it on my external sd card through a usb micro-sd reader and then put the µsd back in the phone
i selected "reboot to recovery" from the phone's power menu (i had an xposed module for more power menu options)
then i noticed that the phone didn't reboot, but it had turned off completely
i held the power button and the phone vibrated but didn't power on
it powered on on the second try, i then went to the cwm recovery by tapping the volume down key
(i was going to make a backup of the current system, but i forgot it lol)
i flashed the cm10.2 zip (cm10.2_pepper-ota-eng.root_Build.1.zip) without doing any wipes, because i wanted to get to the correct version of cwm recovery
(i would've properly done the wipes/formats from the cwm recovery that is in the cm10.2 kernel)
it finished flashing the zip and i rebooted my phone, but then it didn't power on anymore
now when i hold down the power button, the phone makes a short vibration but nothing else
.
if i plug the phone to a charger, the led lights up (red) for approximately a second and then turns off
if i hold down "volume-down" and the power button, the phone vibrates once and flashes the led (green)
i've tried going into flashmode and fastboot mode but the light doesn't stay on for long and sony mobile flasher doesn't even notice the phone even though the drivers are installed
the "hold down power button and vol-up"-thing also works but it doesn't seem to do anything else than vibrate
what should i do?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
If yes then flahs

what?
Is it unlocked?
When I bricked my xperia p I flashed a custom kernel which allowed me to enter Cwm and then flashed the stock rom. I am new to this flashing thing so I recommend that you ask someone experienced what to do. I just shared my experience of recovering from a softbrick. Don't flash new things blindly but ask someone experienced before doing so.

the bootloader is unlocked, and i'm not new to this "flashing thing"
anyone? the phone still hasn't woken up
download firmware for your p and flash using flashtool...

Have you used flashtool to flash firmware before on that PC?
Have you installed flashtool and it's drivers (sola, flash & fastboot mode).?
Make sure the phobe is off, press power + volume up untill you feel 1 + 3 vibrations and see if it stay in flash mode longer.
Just Flash stock
i have nearly the same problem
my xperia u was running with 4.1 then i restored my ta backup its mine not for someone else then i pressed reboot instead of power off then my phone is dead no vibration no led except the one when i plug it to charger just one red led then nothing

how? the phone doesn't boot and flashtool doesn't recognize it
Same problem here, I think that Munjeni's post is bad written.
Ok, I fixed it, follow my instructions as they goes. You have to flash the .img kernel that CM10.2.zip comes from.
For flashing it, go as follows...
First try to install the following drivers, with Flashtool. The executable is in C:\\Flashtool\drivers
Run as adminsitrator and follow screen instructions, allow any driver install.
When it's ready, try to plug in the phone in fastboot mode (turn off, hold power and vol up and release power button, led has to turn blue/violet/pink, whatever, a color like that)
Run flashtool.
Flashtool will recognize the phone as the log says, if its not try to install drivers mannually.
If it's recognized then click the black lightning button and select fast boot mode.
At the right side click "Select kernel to flash" and browse the kernel that comes in the .zip. (in the file you've downloaded you have to extract a boot.ini because is the main kernel to make the ROM work, so you have to put somewhere else, I prefer desktop)
When selected, log writes all the procedure until it show an "OKAY[time]" message.
Finally click "Reboot device into system" in the center side and wait until boots.
It should be working now, I spent a lot of hours investigating, but finally I fixed, hope it works for you too!
If there's an error or some question, feel free to post.

That was "the long run" for windows-guys.
For Linux - no drivers needed anyways - just download fastboot from anywhere and look for kernel. Put them in a personal directory. Open and run in a terminal (some have to be login as su) "fastboot flash boot kernel.img" (or whatever kernel is called...), plug phone in usb, while press and hold power and volume-up buttons. Blue LED comes shining and terminal tell you the flashing.
Unplug or type "fastboot reboot" to re-start phone.
Sure, you also can use FlashTool, too. But for only flashing a kernel it is not needed. Only for flashing stockrom ftf. But this is another story.

If I wrote for Windows 8 there will be more than that, believe me. Managing Android with Linux is a lot easier, from flashing to programming.
But, face it, Windows is the standard here.

Can't install recovery after Stagefright update

My Rogers S6 edge W8 got an OTA OG2 yesturday so I went back to stock to get the new update. Now I want to root back but somehow the previous method of installing TWRP in odin, then flash SU and nosleep fix just doesnt work...actually only the recovery doesnt want to install. Odin tells me everything was a success, the phone seems to have installed TWRP but when I boot into recovery, it goes back to stock again.
Any ideas what could have gone wrong?
Also please dont suggest usuing CF-Auto root because it brick my phone every single time.
Here are the instructions I followed, the first time the process went without a hitch.
1. Download ODIN v 3.10.6 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2711451 and extract it to a folder.
2. Download TWRP v2 by eousphoros (Odin Flashable Version) from https://mega.co.nz/#!aQhTnQRR!k-M-j9...swZO3CWYi0mMtI
3. Download the latest SuperSu Beta from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps...v2-05-t2868133 and transfer it to your internal storage on the phone.
4. Download Deep-Sleep flashable fix from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7&postcount=56 and transfer it ot your internal storage on the phone.
5. Put your phone into Download Mode. Power Off, then hold Power+Home+VolDown. At the warning press VolUp to continue.
6. Connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable.
7. Launch ODIN.
8. You will see the text Added! in the status panel (left side).
9. Checkmark the box beside AP and then click on AP.
10. Browse to the TWRP tar.md5 file you downloaded earlier and select it.
11. Wait a few seconds for MD5 check to finish successfully.
12. Press Start. You will see the progress bar at the top and when it's complete status window will have message "All Threads Complete (Succeed 1, Failed 0)".
13. Boot into TWRP (Button combination Power+Home+VolUp) and then flash/sideload SuperSu beta zip and then the deep sleep fix zip that you have on internal storage.
14. Reboot to system. Congratulations, your phone is now rooted.

Did you uncheck Auto Reboot when you flash the recovery in Odin?
There is no such option with the newer odin
Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
I have heard that this update also breaks ping-pong root. We'll have to wait and see if those are updated
Ok, i found a fix. The problem was when i flashed recovery with odin, the custom recovery was overwritten as soon as the phone would boot back to system. I was able to keep TWRP installed by pressing Volume Up + Power + Home the second the recovery installation was finished and kept holding until Samsung Galaxy S6 edge logo appeared, then it booted me right in TWRP where I was able to flash SU and Sleep Fix.
I am using 3.10.6 and it has the option on one of the tabs on the left side. Yea, that's what I meant not to let it auto reboot. Reboot by holding Volume Down + Power + Home. When the screen goes back, hold Volume Up + Power + Home to boot into Recovery.

SGP771 brick after unlocked and flashed 'boot.img' extracted from AndroPlusKernel v4

HELP: i had been going to flash MR by myself, but when i tried to unlock it and flashed the rooted 'boot.img' extracted from 'Z4T_SGP771_AndroPlusKernel_v4.zip', i don't get the 'supersu' on the desktop properly, after tried a few times, i did a factory reset, it now hangs on boot logo, there is no response to 'power' button long pressed down, looks it will power down until battery goes up, does anyone also experience this? how can i restore this?
The link i'm following:
cwm-twrp-android.net/download/sony-xperia-z4-tablet-lte/
it prevents me paste the outside link since this my first post, so i removed http prefix.
I solved it by myself, after pressing 'Volume Down' + 'Power', it reboots, and looks the factory reset did nothing, it's weird.
On the .260 firmware AndroPlusKernel v4 won't work. I had the same thing when I accidentally flashed v5. You'll need v10. Also, download this stuff from official sources, look in the AndroPlusKernel thread here on XDA.
So, get into fastboot in some way (I don't know how I got back into it, just hammered the volume rocker) and flash the correct v10 boot.img.

Thanks a lot for your comments, i have root it successfully, is there anyone made it to flash MarshMallow? i tried to update it with TWRY with officially binary SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_v01_2.zip, but it tells 'Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file', does anyone know how to survive this?
I also find a AOSP version 'AOSP_L_MR1_160113_karin.zip' from www.androidfilehost.com, but it only contains image file, i tried to flash them all, others(boot, userdata, recovery) are all ok, but it hangs at flashing 'system.img', i terminate it forcely after waiting for 20+ mins, the system boot up back to 5.0.2 after that.
If i use TWRP to install this zip, it tells the same error with the official binary, anyone know if this will work?

[Q] Z2 Tablet not booting after Magisk install (Bricked?)

So thanks to Netflix and its implementation of security net I wanted to install Magisk on my Z2.
Im running the stock 6.0 Rom which was just rooted with supersu.
My tab was charged 80+%
I uninstalled SuperSU, went to TWRP and flashed Magisk.
After flashing the screen stayed black. Nothing at all.
Long press power gives me one vibration after 3 seconds but nothing else.
Long press power & vol - gives me the same vibration
Long press power & vol + gives me nothing
Connecting the tab to the computer gives me nothing. No device recognised (no adb, no fastboot)
Connecting the tab to a charger has the LED blinking red.
Long pressing power makes the led turn solid (no blinking)
Power & vol - the same
Power & vol + nothing
Basically I seemed to somehow have turned my tab into a brick oO
I can't even get it to boot to twrp or fastboot
Atm I'm letting it charge just to see if that was an issue (I doubt it)
Otherwise the only thing I can think of is opening it and disconnecting the battery...maybe that will help?
Seems like Magisk is breaking something badly on the z2 tablet. Mine still boots, but hangs on boot if I restore the rooted kernel backup, and goes crazy (high cpu until spontaneous reboot) if I flash lineageOS and reinstall Magisk.
Of course, flashtool now fails (I'm opening a question on that too).
My sony xperia z2 won't boot after i flashed magisk. it said successful but when i rebooted it didn't boot up
To fix, install FlashTool on PC.
Your data will be safe (at least it was for me).
On the PC, open Flashtool, open XP (XperiaFirm), find xperia z2 tablet at the bottom of the left hand panel. Download the latest firmware for your country (versions are invisible until you select one or click "check all". So select the latest version for your country/region, and click on the box with the version number in it, it will open a window, click "download". (Firmware 1)
While that is downloading, go to Root&Recovery guide on xda, and download the .575 kernel for your device and the R_R4MM rar file. This will be a SIN file. By now, hopefully the download (from XperiaFirm) is done. Now, close XperiaFirm and wait until the download is decrypted (the "please wait" window MUST NOT be closed, it will close by itself)
When it is done, connect xperia to PC while holding down Vol-.
Click the thunderbolt symbol, select Flashmode. and in the window select the firmware you installed from XperiaFirm (should be the only one) and click Install.
After that is done, you can turn on your device. To re-root, turn off and go back into Flash Mode on Xperia (connect xperia to PC while holding down Vol-). On FlashTool, go to Tools, Bundle, Create. Select the SIN file you downloaded (This will compile a kernel firmware). After, on FlashTool, go back to Thunderbolt symbol, Flashmode, select the firmware you compiled and flash. reboot.
Extract the R_R4MM.rar file and open the batch file in it (xperia on with USB debugging on). This will boot you into TWRP, where you can root using SuperSU.zip
