I just switched from a blackberry to the RazrHD...it's a world of difference!! On verizon with my BB, i was able to setup a filter to prevent certain work emails from being sent to my mobile device and i really need to get this setup. The stock email app does not seem to do this.
Do you guys have any recommendations on how or what to accomplish this?
THANKS!

Read my sign to know the ROM I'm on - I wanted to know the best mail client available on the Market. The stock client sucks! Have tried K9 but the UI wasn't appealing.
Looking for a client that supports FREE mail services like GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail PLUS Exchange support for POP3, SMTP and IMAP. The UI should be very clean - somewhat like the iPhone mail app or even the Blackberry will do.
Straight forward suggestions are appreciated rather than suggesting me to change my phone etc.
want also a good email app. The stock is decent but not that great.
Not sure if its the "best", but I settled on maildroid after trying a few of the options out there...

I agree. Maildroid is indeed very good.
Its a bit off topic, but while looking to improve my mailing via samsung vibrant experience i found "perfect messenger". You can set it to whatever mail app you choose to use, and its a widget that you can place on you homescreen that lets you scroll through a list of 25 to 300 messages. You can have that incluce, sms, email, missed calls, calls, etc. and without having to even open any app its a really nice quick view of your incomings.
I'd also like a better email client. I've been using K9 just because I've never found anything better. I had tried SEVEN a while back, and while it had a nice interface, it was way too slow for my taste. http://community.seven.com/main.php
Maybe I'll give it another whirl since I'm on 2.2 now.
I had RoadSync back in my mt3g days. I liked it. Don't know if it's "the best"
Cant remember if it did pop and imap, but worked well with exchange.
in my opinion, MailDroid is your best bet.
Depending on the complexity of your configuration and how customized you want it to be, k9 will give you more configuration options... maildroid still gets the job done.. IMO
ymmv.. Best bet is to try both and see which you like.
I like this device but its still driving me crazy that I get email but don't get notified bu the device, either through noise/vibration ir numerical count.
Anyone found a fix?

I was about to post a question with this same issue. I notice that I have new, unread messages in my Outlook Inbox on my PC, but no notifications on my phone. So when I open the email inbox on my phone, the messages are there, but still no notifications.
Sometimes I do get notifications.
I wish I could bypass BLUR and just use stock Google Corporate Sync setup. This is probably the one thing about this phone that really irks me.
I have been on lots of fourms. Att form is ok but you have to be careful of some of the advice same with other. This is the place to be.
One that note I like to hear from Blackberry coverts
blackberry still the best when it comes to email clients. Has anyone found a email program Paid or not that work as well as BB.
See if I can make myself clear. BB has all the emails from all your acounts. ( not just one but as many as you like) lets say gmail, hotmail, yahoo, comcast ect. They are all in on place. When you get mail they all show there in one icon. You cand send recieive and compose from this on place. you dont need to even go to your yahoo mail or your gmail. Its is all stored in one nice area along with saved file email deleted mail. not just for one type email client. And works with microsoft exchange.

Ok running Shostock2 3.0.5 and loving it.
Having one issue though. Everytime I try and send an e-mail via exchange I get an error message
Unable to sign or encrypt message. Certificate not installed.
Ok, I've tried both the security and non security exchange downloads.
Encrypt in the settings is always unchecked. Sign always defaults to checked but when I uncheck I can send e-mails out.
Not sure what I'm missing here so I'm asking for some guidance on fixing the only nuisance with this rom I'm experiencing.
Are you using the modified exchange apk from post 2 in the ROM thread?
yes i've tried installing both varieties with the same result.
Next question: What email are you using?
the built in e-mail for exchange. I'm not using any optional e-mail clients.
I started using enhanced email and I love it. It works with activesync without having to put in your passcode

I don't use email and exchange so I have no real insight but from what I was told by some users, when setting up the client... do what BROKKANIC said and turn off push and set it to manual during setup. I think once its working you can set it back to push. Not 100% sure though.
never had push enabled. As I said, it's a personal phone but use it to check work e-mails from time to time.
The push of e-mails I find annoying.
Also as stated it's not incoming i have the issues with, it's the outgoing.

Is there an option for SSL or something to that effect? I know with road runner email on my father inlaw's I had to set up 2 different servers for email to use since he uses it on wifi and on 3g data. Maybe you have to do the same.

yes there is. Been through all that for now. For now I've switched over AOKP to see if life is good and it works fine which I find strange.
Not sure what the magic number is to get everything to work but it does on one and not your rom.
I have fully adopted my GVoice number and it is what I give out now. The two main issues are:
Dropping MMS without notification
Some OS or App text integration doesn't work
I love the widgets available to the Samsung Galaxy line of phones but does anyone have experience using them with Google Voice?

I dunno if I can fully answer this, but I'll try.
Using LightFlow, I receive LED light notifications as well as text notifications for any SMS, and emails for MMS - however, I get the "normal" email message notification for MMS, not something that specifically tells me it's an MMS. The widgets aren't super-helpful with MMS, but again, i don't really get/use the GV number for them.
I haven't had any issues with App integration, but I only have texted/used it from the mail app and Chrome, so I dunno if that will answer that question. I don't think I've immersed myself as much as you have, but when I use GV, it has worked great.
This was on my S3 - I had a Tmobile GN2 for a week and it worked just as well. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I wasn't expecting any better integration with GV in this device than other android device.

really?
there has got to be a way to integrate this better. i mean..this is android, and a google app..come on! lol.
Voice has become another red headed stepchild lately, it seems. Been waiting on them to do something about the MMS thing for years. Not a big deal to not get them, but it should at least tell you that you're not getting something someone is attempting! App integration has been bugging me more too. They really need to get on with polishing up the app, or at least open up the api's to let others do what they want to it.
