[Q] Moving apps to sd not working - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed Jaggyrom 3 on my HTC explorer, sometimes my phone freezes and as per the post in XDA, I have installed cranium kernel 3.
Since then I am unable to move any apps to sd card. Its saying "Unable to move, system error". Please tell me how to fix this, because the only reason I rooted my phone is to install apps I like, if this is not happening then I am in a real loss.
Please tell me how to do it, else can I install the jaggyrom 3 with the "Freeze phone".

use titanium backup and see if it works

Crashing ROMs on my hero

Guys i need little help with my hero.
I flashed some ROMs on my hero , before that made full wipe and when i run my phone he always somehow crash. He use to restart all the time, or i canĀ“t install on him any app, or even i succeed with install some app it can t open it and say "App xyz closed unexpectedly"
I tried install so many ROMs on my hero but everyone use to crash somehow than i can t use my mobile phone as i would like to.Can anybody please tell me what to do with that? Thank you
What ROM are you using and which apps force close?
VillainROMs v8 10 11 12 and 13 i guess
Elelinux-6.2.0-Hero-Speedmachine-v4
FROYO_2.2.1
[ROM][CUPCAKE 1.5][04/05/2010] Kimera 1.8
also some Roms with sense
but i think then i tried more than 20 ROMs on my hero, but still the same
And the apps apps force close was definitely: Navigon and Sygic ( but i remember then app navigon had works for a few times )
Next problem is with my memory card, phone sometimes says than "YourSD card is damaged" or something like that and i have to format my SD card if i wanna use MMC again :-/
Sounds like an SD Card fault since those apps Navigon and Sygic probably have Maps on their SD Card thus causing them to force close if the phone says your SD is damaged.
Try put in another SD Card (after making a nandroid on your old one) and then do a full wipe and see if it still happens.
Tried use to flash new rom trought another MMC but still the same :-/
the application navigon has stopped unexpecadly, i don t know where is the problem :/
Does seem like a hardware fault unfortunately, try take your SD Card out and give the metal area where it makes contact with the Card a good wipe with a cloth or tissue.
Doesn t help, but i have to add then that "App xyz closed unexpectedly" say HTC only for nonmarket app, the apps witch one i downloaded trought PC and then install from SD card... :-/
I don't know then I'm afraid. It's very odd.

[Q] Insufficient Memory

When i first bought the GN2 I also bought a 64GB SD card so I could put all the apps I wanted on the phone not realizing (until it was too late!) that I can't get apps to load on the SD card. Now, every time I try installing another app (wireless tether or GL to SD so I CAN move some apps) I keep getting an error message "Insufficient Space- please uninstall some apps for more space." I have tried uninstalling everything I am not using on a daily basis. I have used Root Explorer to delete empty folders in internal memory. Now I cannot install anything, not even apps to help. What do I need to uninstall to make this thing work again???
Verizon GN2, SCH-I605, rooted, bootloader unlocked, stock rom.

You can use an SD swap script if you are rooted.
You cannot add apps to the SD. Either use the swap script or use titanium backup, make a backup, and uninstall app.
If you are having issues installing apps when there are memory, readd you google acct/play acct. That fixed it for me when i could install some play store apps.

[Q] Apps Moved to SD Disappear fix?

I have a weird and it seems like a common problem too, i have found some threads about it but either they are a little different from mine or they dont have a real solution for it.
So yesterday i decided to download a bunch of games, i never used enough applications to need to move them to my sd, but since i downloaded a lot of them some started to get installed to the sd and i manually moved some of them too to the sd card. But while i was still downloading more apps, some of them started to show the android icon, and when i tried to run them they crashed. The weird part is that it was just some of them.
After that i tried rebooting my phone hoping that would help the phone to reload and see the apps, but that just made it worst since those, and some others went totally missing from the drawer. Is not because the launcher loads before the sd card is read because i already checked that.
So i went to settings>applications and discovered that all those applications are listed there but listed with their other name (dont know how to call it, but is like "com.developer.app" ). All of the missing apps are like that and i cant run them.
- I have formatted the sd using gparted, same behavior
- I have formatted the sd and the internal (sd?) with the phone
- I have done a factory reset with no luck
- I have runned fsck in both internal and external sd's
- The files of the applications are in the .android_secure folder in the external sd card "app.asec"
- The sd card is working (files music, everything else is working)
- I dont know what else to do, I want to be able to use my sd card to install apps
Thanks for your help
Simple Answer
Just Install Nd Run The Apk First Nd Play now simply move To SD
It Will Work.
Same Problem In Galaxy Y .

Press Thank If I Helped
I dont fully understand you, but i think you are telling me to install, then run the app and then move it to the sd card, i did that to almost all of them (i was trying the games ) but that didnt make any difference. Thank you anyway!
looks like it was a faulty micro sd card switched to another one and problem solved

[Q] App2SD on Z2 ?

After rooting my Z2 tablet, and installing SuperSU, and editing Platform.XML to allow writing to the SD card, I attempted to install a few apps to move apps to the SD card. Although all were given super user privileges, none of them worked.
"All-In App2SD" gave me an error. "DS Super App2SD Lite" gave me a list to select from and it gave me an error telling me to make sure I am rooted and something else I couldn't read because it immediately opened the app info for every app selected which I had to manually go through.I tried "Root # Data2SD card." doesn't seem to do anything. I tried to create a storage to mount (which is a weird approach), but it won't go any further. I tried installing "Auto App2SD (Move)", but it wouldn't even install. Google Play says there is insufficient space - when I have more than 20 GB free internal and more than 90 GB free external. I tried "AppMGR III" and it opens all the App Info screens as well, but this one gave me a message telling me to use a move to phone option, but none exists.
So is the tablet unable to use App2SD? Or am I doing something wrong?

I use "SD Kitkat Fixer" and "FolderMount" from Play Store and have no issues to move app data to SD card.

Unfortunately, for some reason, some apps give me the error "Insufficient Storage Available" from within the Play Store and both of those apps give me that error. (Clearing cache, a call to google, reset device, etc doesn't resolve the issue, and it's strangely specific to apps related to rooting.)
However, I was able to manually edit the Platform.XML folder (which is all apps like that seem to do anyway) and I have mount /system.

[Q] Unable to Delete Files in SD Card After Rooting

Hi! I am a newbie and I hope someone can help me here.
A few hours ago, I rooted my ZTE V987 using Framaroot. I checked was able to root it successfully and then I started downloading apps such as Titanium Backup, Link2SD, NoBloat Free, Greenify, Cerberus, etc.
Everything was working very well but then when I was trying to delete a few movies from my SD card, I was suddenly getting this message saying "No permission to delete." I am not getting the message on every file but I 100% sure that I wasn't getting that error prior to rooting my phone.
Also, how do I make my SD card as the default download location for my apps? I am really confused. I never thought it would be this complicated. I do not want to install a custom rom but I rooted my phone because I want to use my SD card as the default phone storage. Also, I heard that I can enhance the battery life of my phone. Does Greenify automatically do it?
Those may be dumb questions but I hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance!
