[Q] Unable to Delete Files in SD Card After Rooting - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I am a newbie and I hope someone can help me here.
A few hours ago, I rooted my ZTE V987 using Framaroot. I checked was able to root it successfully and then I started downloading apps such as Titanium Backup, Link2SD, NoBloat Free, Greenify, Cerberus, etc.
Everything was working very well but then when I was trying to delete a few movies from my SD card, I was suddenly getting this message saying "No permission to delete." I am not getting the message on every file but I 100% sure that I wasn't getting that error prior to rooting my phone.
Also, how do I make my SD card as the default download location for my apps? I am really confused. I never thought it would be this complicated. I do not want to install a custom rom but I rooted my phone because I want to use my SD card as the default phone storage. Also, I heard that I can enhance the battery life of my phone. Does Greenify automatically do it?
Those may be dumb questions but I hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Moving apps to sd not working

I have installed Jaggyrom 3 on my HTC explorer, sometimes my phone freezes and as per the post in XDA, I have installed cranium kernel 3.
Since then I am unable to move any apps to sd card. Its saying "Unable to move, system error". Please tell me how to fix this, because the only reason I rooted my phone is to install apps I like, if this is not happening then I am in a real loss.
Please tell me how to do it, else can I install the jaggyrom 3 with the "Freeze phone".
use titanium backup and see if it works

After rooting E970 SD Card being weird...

Okay, so I rooted my at&t E970 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1941699 . I mainly did the root because I wanted to transfer some of my apps to my SD card. I download App2sd and another transfer program and they both have difficulty finding my SD card in some way. How can I fix this? My other android phone is rooted and I use those apps to do transfers all the time. I can play music and see photos that are on my sd card. AND I HAVE A LOT OF MEMORY. Any help? Thanks in advance.
***I am very lost. Shouldn't I be able to boot into recovery after rooting? I can't do that. I installed "Rom Manager" and tried booting into recovery from there but all I got was the operated Android robot picture. Can someone guide me the right way to root this phone?

You would need to unlock bootloader in order to have custom recovery. Freegee app is $1.00 or pc version is free. I am not sure if stock recovery is accessible or useable. Sorry I can't answer more of your questions.
Alright, thanks! I installed that and successfully booted into recovery. I know I'm rooted and I have clockwordmod. I just need to know how to move my apps to my SD card. It still shows that my sd card is "emulated" according to Apps2sd
any luck?

[Q] Insufficient Memory

When i first bought the GN2 I also bought a 64GB SD card so I could put all the apps I wanted on the phone not realizing (until it was too late!) that I can't get apps to load on the SD card. Now, every time I try installing another app (wireless tether or GL to SD so I CAN move some apps) I keep getting an error message "Insufficient Space- please uninstall some apps for more space." I have tried uninstalling everything I am not using on a daily basis. I have used Root Explorer to delete empty folders in internal memory. Now I cannot install anything, not even apps to help. What do I need to uninstall to make this thing work again???
Verizon GN2, SCH-I605, rooted, bootloader unlocked, stock rom.

You can use an SD swap script if you are rooted.
You cannot add apps to the SD. Either use the swap script or use titanium backup, make a backup, and uninstall app.
If you are having issues installing apps when there are memory, readd you google acct/play acct. That fixed it for me when i could install some play store apps.

[Q] Hello, please I need help to move apps to SD in LG L70 phone.

Hello, well, I'm sorry if this thread shouldn't be here, I'm a new user =D. But well, I ask help please, I hope to find an answer.
See, I've rooted my phone, but I can't move the apps to SD. I partitioned the SD for using Link2SD and it recognize the partition ext2, but can't create the links for apps. I fixed the problem the SD for writing (I can copy, cute and paste from internal storage to SD and inverse? - Sorry, my english is basic and don't have enough megabytes for using an English-Spanish dictionary =D-). So, I think that LG made a good job locking the system. I found some apps for trying to solve the problem, but I think the system protects of they (like Force2SD, Final App2SD, etc.) because don't let me install them, it says that the device don't have enough memory, but does let me install other apps heavier, like facebook. So, the system doesn't give permissions for move apps although the device is rooted. For now, I read that my only salvation is installing a Custom ROM. But there is no ROM for my device until now . Someone knows another option for help me?

I just figured it out, phone is rooted, card is partitioned, you can still only move very few apps to the card, but you can "link" them to the card, it is the option below the move to sd button. I went from having 400MB free to 750MB with the free app, and now have 1.2GB with the paid version. I am amazed!

Issues Deleting Stuff on SD Card Root Explorer

I'm on T-Mobile V10, rooted, BL unlocked running Xposed. Tried to delete a TWRP backup I didn't need and received this error. Buddy of mine who's heavily involved in XDA and phone customizations has never seen this...any ideas?
I have seen this when using ES File Explorer. You just need to select the SD card on the next screen that comes up. When I say SD card I mean when you have the option to choose SD or internal, so you would choose SD and it shouldn't ask you again.

I had I believe the same problem, something about SD cards not writeable, tried to make it writable with root explorer and still no way would titanium backup save to the sd card. I found an app on the play store, sd fix or something like that, don't have the phone with me at the moment that made the sdcard writable.
Since kitkat, 3rd party application aren't allowed to modify external SD card content. You have to modify your platform.xml to allow that.

Jeeze i thought this was something more advanced than that hahah thanks everyone, feel like an idiot posting this.
