Just wanted to know if this is a possiblity for our phones, i know that the 3D will probably not work, but is it possible to have a working port of sense 4.5 with JB on the EVO3D.
Is there any change between 4.1 and 4.5 aswell (except for project butter the JB brings)

I thought 4.0 was ICS builds, and 4.1 was JB (aka with the project butter) - 4.5 I am not sure what the difference is

Short answer. Yes. When a phone like the ville or c2 that have a screen resolution like our phone had one it will be possible. Probably not until then
Sense 4.0 and 4.1 = ICS
Sense 4.5 = JB(I think, not sure)

Sense 3.6 is on 4.0.3 which is an ICS build
Sense 4.0 is also on 4.0.3 ICS
Sense 4.1 is on 4.0.4 ICS
Sense 4.5 which was started rolling out to some phones is on 4.1.1 JB
There ya go.
Viper3D and the other Sense 4.1 ROMs out are mostly based on the Ville_C2 or Ville, which has the same screen size and processor as our phone. Like I said earlier, if those models get a JB build, then a port would be easier.
Update: I did some searching and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043386
Released today it is a JB Sense ROM for Ville+ I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before someone picks up on porting it

Hi all,
I'm planning my HTC Evo 3D to rooting and flashing.
which ROM can be recommended,
if it should meet the following expectations:
- Use both cores of the CPU (power saving)
- Usable camera (3-D must not be)
- Optional 3D on the display
- Stable running!
- ICS with or without Sense
Is the XSeries ROM a good one?
(Google Translater)
1. ICS
2. Usable camera
Pick one.

Are that right stable Mods? ("Alpha", "Beta" ..)
Have a read through the topics, they seem stable enough if you can handle the camera issues.
sense 4 is now not for daily use but sense 3.6 is... obviously choice but sense 4 is beautiful like sun on the sky

Indeed. I can't wait for the official ICS EVO 3D release, and for some talented dev to coat it with Sense 4.0 looks like I'll need more donation money put aside haha!
Was just wondering, once HTC finally update our devices to ICS, will developers be able to port over a fully working and bug free sense 4.0 or will there still be problems with the camera, etc?
Sense 4.0 looks to be a fair bit faster than 3.6 so hopefully developers will have all they need to port it properly.

Bug free? Probably not but they will be close to bug free.
I love sense 4 so hopefully it'll all be sorted but i'm not sure due to the camera problems which have plagued this phone.
I really didn't see these problems coming before i bought it, research is going to be top of the pops for me next time i upgrade.

I am 100% certain that yes, they will indeed be able to create a fully functioning, 100% bug free Sense 4.0 ROM for our EVO 3D's. The only problems now on the Virtuous Sense 4.0 ROM are Camera and Bluetooth, both of which will be incredibly easy to port over for the talented Virtuous team once an official ICS build for EVO 3D is leaked/released by HTC. I kid you not, if you don't need to use the camera or a bluetooth headset, that ROM is perfect as a Sense 4.0 daily driver.
Patience my friend, it will come

Awesome.. That was the only thing I was unsure about (whether the ICS drivers we'll get well work fully with sense 4)

Yep...we probably won't see 4g working on the sprint cdma side.
Yea seeing the only official sense 4.0 phone for sprint is an LTE phone, I doubt we will ever see WiMax on a Sense 4.0 ROM.
I would be thrilled if their was, but no need to get hopes up

Hi All,
as we (I ) waiting for official release of ICS on GCM Evo 3D with sense 3.6, and i am "far away" with my knowledge on android development, my question - if it will be "hard" to develop it to sense 4.0? I mean is this requires much of development as it is now (bugs, bricks, etc.), or it will be easier when official ICS in place?
Thanks.

HI vanisleguy1976,
thanks for answer but it is not really what i meant. This ROM is build on "Based on the leaked One S ROM", so i am not surprised that it has those bugs, etc. as it is not totaly "compliant" with Evo.
But when (if) we will receive official update from HTC with Sense 3.6 - if it will be similiary difficult to upgrade it to sense 4.0?
Hope i am clear with my question now, sorry if still not thanks.
On our EVO 3d? I mean like it looks awesome. It would be cool.
You could try out the sense 4 rom
Just try ICS cusrom with sense 4.0 or wait for the official. Even the inferior One V could run it, Evo 3D must be capable of it, too.

It's not about the specs [ie, ram, processor etc]. HTC have stated that all the HTC phones barring the One series don't have certain hardware components that is needed for Sense 4.0. Like the new Camera.
EDIT: I actually might be wrong check my post under the next 2

Yes but it doesnt have ZSL and all those other sense 4.0 goodies.
This isnt a debate. You will not be getting Sense 4.0 Officially. So either go flash up a unoficial Rom or just stop posting.
Hey guys, the decision to not update Sense 3.x phones to Sense 4.0 isn't related to technology; it's a business decision. HTC has to weigh the costs and benefits

it is hardware related too.....something called ImageSense is related to hardware components that are new to the entire one series...including the 'weakling' one V.
We will see sense 4.0 custom ROM with all the bells and whistles we want, once we get all the sources for ICS released. Its just a matter of time and these android updates are dragging it all the way.
Anybody know of anyone working on porting some of those international One X Jelly Bean ROMs?
For instance: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588669
I've personally been holding off on AOSP ROMs for the EVO LTE because i actually prefer Sense (well, Sense 4.x) and it's more capable Facebook integration.

Im sure someones lookin into it if they can.
It international HOX has a tegra 3 soc instead of the s4 like us and the at&t HOX so its not as easy for devs to port it
