I'm in the global FW and radios but are the radios just before the global oat better? More reliable?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Global isn't the an official ota. They run great on mine but best would be construed to each device. There are some rez out there that love the gingerbread firmware the best
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
These are the radios I am currently running and I was on latest leaked global radios. I kept the hboot and just found a place that had some firmware updates and I just pulled the hboot and flashed them. I get twice the speeds on my phone that what I had but ymmv
I think the global radio is the best it connects quickly and more stable.
The radios are probably placebo like the build.prop edits

quite possible but testing radios take time since a lot can be a factor on a few day basis. kernels take a few charge cycles to settle in. radios could take up to 2 weeks to properly see differences between previous and current selections

Why isn't there much ics support on the xda portion of the thunderbolt??? The devious rom looks pretty damn stable yet all the roms here seem to be stuck on gingerbread is there a reason why this is the case?
Sent from my Photon Q using ultramegaextremeXDA
The ril for the thunderbolt doesn't work for ics yet. It probably won't until we have an official ics rom.

How the hell did an HTC phone from 2010 get it working before us. I'm referring to the MyTouch 4G.

We probably have the most confusing RIL out there...
I don't think there is another SVDO+LTE phone out there.
It probably is extremely complicated and I don't think htc released the source either.

We have the only device with two radios sandwiched together.
No other device has this frankenstein approach, therefor it makes it that much more difficult to just guess on how to make it work.
With other devices which share similar or same radios, it is much easier to do.
The benefit to the fact that we have the radio sandwich in our phones, is simultaneous data and voice. The downside, we all know already....
I currently have an evo 3d. I'm running the latest ICS roms and noticed that my service is terrible. I have read that the radio isn't very good and I'm not the only one having this issue. Is it possible to flash a different radio on the new ICS roms or do they require the current radio only. Oh, and this is on the sprint CDMA network. Thanks for any help...
Nope just has to be for the Evo 3d I use the gb radio on ics even though I get better service on the ics one

In theory, you could flash a Verizon radio to a Sprint phone. I haven't tried it since pre 4G days. For instance, I had Sprint's HTC Hero and I would flash radios made for Verizon's HTC Eris. But only when the Eris would have a newer radio available. I never had an issue. I wouldn't try flashing a WiMax or LTE radio. I bet the developer Toast would have more input as to whether it is still possible or not. I wouldn't just go flashing them because that's pretty much the only way to brick your phone.

WiFi has been solid for me on his build. What recovery are you using?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I used ROM manager to install. Did all the wipes just like previous installs I have done.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
Download 4ext recovery and use the wipe all except sd card before flashing. Cwm is extremely outdated and people are having issues like that after using it.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I will give that a try. Is that the recovery tool of choice these days?
Thanks for the help btw

I did as directed and still have the wifi connecting then disconnecting. Got any other suggestions?
Check your radio version. If you're not using the .19 radios give them a shot.

Well, I put these radios on:
1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.02.00.0312r
I have the same issue. lol
This is getting pretty sad. Do you have any other suggestions?
Maybe try to download the Rom again. Then reflash in 4ext.

At least I have unlimited data, lol. Still would be nice to have WiFi working because we only have a weak 3G signal at our home.
Did it work before you started using that Rom? My other suggestion would be to try a different ics Rom. Sorry I wasn't able to help but you're not the only with that problem. I'm surprised that no one else hasn't tried to help.

It worked fine before ics. I will look into trying a different build but I really like this one.

Yea it is a great build it sucks you're having WiFi problems. Have you tried changing channels on the phone side?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I had the same issue, I used the tweaked combo radio that used the .19 CDMA radio, with the leaked ICS LTE radio.
Well, I don't know how or why but it works now. I got mad and took the battery out and left it for a day. When I put it back in and turned it on it was working.

Question concerning this ROM as well. My signal bars either constantly indicate 2 bars for the 4 bar version, or full for the 6 bar signal version, and nothing else unless I am not on 4G. I saw someone posted this question somewhere else about a week ago or longer but I have been unable to locate it since I have been using the ROM. My data connection is usually fine so I wasn't sure if it'd be the radio I'm using or something with the ROM and if I may need to reflash.

I'm having that now with every rom I flash. GB and ICS based. It seems worse with ICS leaks, but it's a problem for me across the board.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Hey I was wondering if anyone else had flashed the leak lte radio in combination with the .9 cdma radio? I've had it running for roughly a week and I've had maybe 2 data drops which was normal for me. Also here are some speeds. The latest few are from the .9/leak radio combo.

Also to clarify I'm running unmodified jmod ics's latest release. The only thing I've changed is uninstalling set cpu
Sent from my Thunderbolt using xda premium
I have tried that on both liquids version and jesters and still had data drops. I think it has to do more with the ril they put together causing the drops.
I recently flashed my thunderbolt, and simply am stuck trying to get 3g to work. I've read countless threads about it in multiple forums, but I just cant figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am now going bald.
Which ROM are you using and which ROM did you come from? GB or ICS?

I downgraded from ICS to GB using a guide on phandroid. I believe it may have something to do with the way I flashed it, or the network not recognizing me, but I am unsure. I'm open to suggestions!
If your downgrade method didn't involve flashing the GB radios than there would be your problem. It wouldn't hurt to flash the latest GB radios just for kicks.

Yea, I'm certain I flashed the GB radios in recovery, my good man. Could it be something else? Could you verify what I need to set my M.IP, and PPP settings to, if you know?
As long as you are on Verizon I don't see why you would have to.

Oops! Maybe I should've added... I flashed it to boost, and I have talk and text working. Data icon displays 1x. I'm trying to get the 3g to kick. I'm using the info from my Incredible 2, which i flashed with the same account over a year ago. Everything works fine on the Incredible 2. Just no 3g on the thunderbolt.
The droid incredible 2 is a global phone and the bolt isn't. The radio in the bolt isn't capable.

So disconnecktie, does this mean my thunderbolt is incapable of 3g because it isn't a global phone? I do not understand dude.
The bolt doesn't have an antenna that will be able to connect with the frequency boost uses for data.

Not even 1x? Because I totally have 1x. And it works. Just reaaaaaaly slow.

Oh I see. So what do you make of those people who claim to have it working, and posted screenshots of their bolt on 3g? Are they frauds? Because the only reason I even bought this phone, is that I was under the impression that a flash would work. Would really suck if it won't... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515994
It does work for certain carriers. Page plus comes to mind but it had been a long time since I've heard of another carriers working.

Cool! Well thanks anyway. I'm trying to find a way to program it to my service. Just to get the settings right, and see what happens after that. For all I know, I have the settings right, and it just won't work.
Best bet would be to pick up a sprint phone that's not locked down via ESN (correct term?). Since Boost is basically Sprint's pay as you go service.
