my i9300 seem to be hard brick, but i don't understand why and how because i strictly did nothing
my phone is not rooted. it was in my pocket, and perfectly working, a few minutes later i would use it and it died.
i thought it was the battery, so i tried a few things that i could find. but nothing works.
all i tried did nothing (the screen is always black)
the big problem is i'm living in montreal canada and the phone come from miami so samsung want repair it :crying:
help me please

I'm sorry to hear this, but looks like you are one of the many with sudden dead gs3.
If you cannot fix it at samsung. Best chance would be to buy a motherboard or a smashed gs3 and use the motherboard.
I think would be cheaper to send it to samsung and let them replace the board for you. Email them and ask and compare prices.

Galaxy Player 5.0 Replacement Battery?

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone had any clue where batteries compatible with this device are available? My device got wet and won't turn on, out of curiosity I swapped out the battery inside with a friend's and it booted right up!
I already tried Samsung's customer service and because it's not covered by warranty it'll cost me $40 plus the cost of the replacement battery ($51) Also the battery is on back order.
I really don't want to pay half the cost of a new player just to mine working again.
Thank you for your time.

Hmm... since these batteries are not supposed to be user serviceable, I am not sure what other choice you would have. Maybe ask around here and see if anyone has a busted player for cleap.
Good luck.

I picked up my s3 in march for 325$

Weird that you weren't allowed to post on the Q&A section cause you're already a senior member. But anyway since you got it on March then isn't it covered by warranty? Replacement screens on the internet are sometimes bogus unless your really know how to criticized the item being sold. I suggest that you bring it to Samsung for repair.

How much do you think the repairs at the Samsung centers are? I got. My. Phone off someone on kijiji and he got it from Hong Kong for dirt cheap and then I found out the pho was from France pretty sure from Orange. I'm not really the type of person that wants armatures to replace my screen... But the phone is like 300$ now and I do love my phone because no one else I know has the Grey one and I can't sell it on eBay because I have personal things in it, or should I just keep it as a decoration and buy a s4 when it's lower....
I don't know what to do... Is it really worth 200$ to fix a phone that I can get for 300$ but I wonder if they'd fix everything else because I've been having signal problems

Better go and ask them about it as I haven't really encountered bringing in a phone for repair. And if you ask me if it's really worth it to repair a phone for almost half the price when you bought it... well... I think i'll pass and just get a new one because you'll encounter more issues afterwards. Of course it's a different issue when you send it Samsung for warranty issues.

What if i actually have warranty on the phone how would i check? cause i bought it from a guy or does that mean it just doesn't have warranty?

If you take it to a Samsung supported repair shop they will know its under warranty by the imei and serial number. You wont even need to have the reciept if you got it from someone else.Same happened to me once.If you want to replace the screen yourself then buy one on ebay for 140 bucks and do it yourself with a video tutorial from youtube. Its not that hard mate.
Ive changed a few screens for friends with ones from ebay and they are perfectly good and dont have any problems at all.Run perfectly and you save heaps too.

If its under waranty it should be free.Otherwise get a screen from ebay for 140 and fix it yourself and then try and sell the phone for 250.
250 + the 60 you saved will be 310 to go to an S4 at least mate.Id see if its covered first and then you will have a working phone to sell + 200 bucks.

Yeah mate all warranty coverage is free if its something like a hardware issue. If you drop it and they can tell then its up to them but if you dont have any marks on the side that makes it look like it has been dropped then just say that it wont start for some reason.
The bad thing is if it has been rooted and flashed and you havent reset the binary counter. Then if they see that they will most likely send you a letter asking you to pay cos that will mean you have lost the warranty.

Replacing the screen wont do anything to the touch at all.Ive changed screens on the S2,S3,Note2 and iphone4S with ones Ive got from ebay to save money by not paying store labour rates and none of them have any problems or screen issues.

Well then its great I guess these issues used to persist earlier..
If there's nt much problem then use the warranty damn its useful.

Yeah mate if they know its the screen from an accident then they wont fix it.If you want to purposely brick your phone and say it has SDS (sudden desth syndrome) thats up to you but you may want to just fix it yourself if you cant find a non-samsung store that will do it for cheap..meaning screen + labour maybe 200 bucks.
Better to start looking at youtube videos.

Capacitive buttons are not working ?

:crying: I have HTC One X+ 64gb Telus which is rooted,s-off and boot loader unlocked. I am using Elegancia 6.2.0. I don't know what happened to it. Suddenly Capacitive buttons are not working as light are working. In past it never dropped and I Nevar sit on it. I don't know why it happened. Now i am using LMT launcher from which I am not satisfied and thinking about repairing it. In my city there are no HTC service center but there is a collection point(I don't know what it is??? ) . I searched about this on Internet and found that it may be problem of Digitizer. So, My questions are:
1. By replacing LCD+Digitizer would solve this problem? If yes, then which variant should I buy SHARP or SONY version? As mine is Telus version.
2. Should I go to Collection Point in my city ?
3. Or should I take risk of doing dis-assembly of it ?
4. Or Should I buy a LCD+Digitizer from internet and do replacement by local mobile repairs?
PS: I bought it 2 months ago from ebay and it doesn't have manufacturer warranty. And sorry for my bad english

Friend getting it replaced wont be the wisest decision, I would suggest you to try some other ROMs like ASOP CM10.2 version and see if the problem persists, since the lights are working. Hope if that dosent work replacing the LDC will take some thing around Rs 8000 Indian. I don't know about the make of the Sceen, but I guess going to the collection point might just help, else if you can get it to Bhopal or some thing.
Don't risk dis-assemble it, if you are not sure what you are doing .
Well getting the LCD+Digitizer from ebay I just don't know since it hard to find the OEM version ...
Good news !!!

sII motherboard replacement

Hi all,
I need to replace the motherboard from my device. I am wondering if it is plug-and-play or if it is needed some flashing.
In other words do I simply remove the dead one and connect the new one (used) or do I need to flash anything. Of course I suppose my IMEI is lost and I must have a working motherboard and a valid IMEI.
I also assume that I have no chances to recover the data stored in the broken device. The problem was caused by the small backup battery that lost acid and damaged the board and some components
Thank you
I just replaced my s2 motherboard from Samsung service center. It requires to be flashed with latest Sammy rom + they'll write your old IMEI number on your new motherboard. I'd suggest you to let the experts replace your motherboard. It'll cost you about $110 though...
Good luck with your phone!

thanks for your advice. I was in a hurry so I bought a s2plus, BTW I wish to recover the s2. I will do it by myself, a good used motherboard costs around 15/20 euro...it is worth.

Is this a common problem or is it rare?
I'm asking because if it is a common problem, then I will get a refund and get something else.
Mine doesnt have this...this happens on all devices, just not good quality control, so wouldnt know how many are affected, luckily mine came perfect

Guess I'll have to get something else then. Now to contact the supplier and go from there.
BTW is it possible to check if the item is new or refurbished?
Rn3 is definetely new, its not old device...
It would be pretty hard to port MIUI on some other chipset

I don't think I made my self clear.
Do you think the item I received was a returned item, refurbished by the seller and then sold to me? If it was, is it possible to check? It looks like brand new to me.
I dont have the bleeding issue. I think the device got faulty screen and you might want to send to warranty for screen fix.
China phone is always like that either you received good phone or defect phone. There is no quality control in China company.
