How to Root and unlock the bootloader of Sony Ericsson your Xperia x10
for those stock on 1.6 or 2.1 or soft bricked Go here first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32673686#post32673686
Vote after you have completed all the steps which you desire. and don't vote "Im confused" if you did not read carefully.
Disclaimer: I nor xda-developers.com bear any responsibility for your phone.(this phone is not bricked easy so don't worry if anything goes wrong you could just flash a new stock 2.3.3 with flashtools)
The first time may scary you like it did me the for my first time but now I can do this in my sleep.
1.download latest flashtools which is a program that you would be using as long a you want to flash custom rom from here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
2. Now in the Flashtools folder (C:\Flashtool\firmwares by default) go to the folder named drivers and you would see "flashtool-drivers" and install them (installed them all just in-case you decide to get another Xperia phone in the future.
3. On your phone go to setting>applacations>unknown sources and usb debugging in development and connect your phone to your computer with your data cable and then open flashtools.
4. root would now become available in flashtools so press it(the black unlocked lock ICON) and just wait for flashtools to reboot your phone. and you now have root access!
Installing a Recovery
In order to install a new Rom you would have to install a Recovery, according to the rom you want to install the thread would state whether you need a ClockWorkMod(CWM)(CWM5 in flashtools) or just flash through Xrecovery(0.3 in flashtools)
So in order to install a Recovery your phone must be connected to the USB port on your computer. So in flashtools click on the black square with a white cross in it and choose according.( setting>applacations>unknown sources and usb debugging in development much be on.
How to use Xrecovery.
To get into xrecovery you much power off your device, then press the power button until it vibrates, no when you see the sonyericsson logo start pressing the back button on your phone and then you would enter Xrecovery(in the version of flashtools this tutorial is based you must wait until you see the notification LED turns ) now in xrecovery you use the volume up, down, home and back buttons to navigate.
Bootloader Unlocking.
5.unplug your phone and power it off. On the top bar in flashtools plugins should now be available with the "Unlocked bootloader" option, so press it and wait until it says to connect your phone then do so by holding down your back button(on your phone) and plugging in your USB cable(don't let go until you see your notifications light come on GREEN
6. While the unlocking is taking place look out for the "you can now unplug and turn on device, then plug it again" Immediately. Do it that one time and just leave it to finish and say "successfully applied unlock. Rebooting
7. Smile because you can now flash custom kernels and so forth and so on and also press thanks button.
If your stuck just send me a message.
Quick tip:flashing new roms usually means loosing your data(contacts, apps, etc) but you can use this to backup your data and when you're done re-download it and restore your data: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jiubang.go.backup.pro

I am desperately need help with my phone. I had installed GingerDX v13 from Cyanogen Froyo CM6 v6.01 and it worked fine except it will reboot every half hour so reinstalled the previous one i was using "Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM) - v6.01" and did wipe data/factory reset before and after installation from xrecovery (with every new rom install) then restore from Titanium backup as restore all apps and data (not System) and rebooted.
After reboot all problems started. It just gives me Force Close errore one after another and do not stop. If i lock screen, it shows errors in few seconds and if i do not do anything it just reboots. And all cycle statrs again.
I tried to go into recovers at startup by pressing back key after Sony ericson shows up on screen, but no luck.
Can you pleaseeeee help? I installed many updates without problems but this time no luck. My be some commands for abd shell to do factory reset and clear data?

You put debug on in settings>application>development?
Then get flashtool v. 3.0.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Using that, click flash, choose the first azuzu file (should be downgrade file), plug your phone in and turn it off, hold the back button while it's turning off, once it's off it should go into flash mode and flash the kernel downgrade.
Unplug the phone and turn it on, plug it back in, the flash tool should detect it, go to the advanced option on the top bar of flash tool then root and choose psneuter, let it be for a minute, phone should shut off and reboot.
Turn it off when it does and take the battery out, click flash once again on flash tool and choose the second azuzu file, (should be upgrade), okay that and plug the usb cord into your phone, holding the back button, put the battery into your phone, should go into flash mode once again and flash the kernel upgrade, unplug your phone and turn it on.
When it boots up, click ask root perms on flash tool, look at your phone (unlock it if its locked) and choose allow superuser, Xrecovery option should be enabled on flash tool, click on it.
Voila! You're rooted and have everything you need to install custom roms.

sorry for my english
some people going to say, "but, if you have unlocked bootloader, only have to flash a custom kernel with root", this method is for peoble that want to have their original firmwares .62 and stock kerner or in my case, people that can't flash custom kernel because of the problem of "1 bad blocks encountered" in the nand memory :'(
you need:
1) Unlock bootloader
2) a custom kernel with recovery (its not going to be flashed)
3) this file root.zip
4) flashtools
Intruccion:
1) save the root.zip to your sdcard
2) open flashtools
3) press the flash button (the one with the lightning)
4) Enter the option Fastboot mode
5) conect your phone in fastboot mode (phone off and press volumen + while connect the phone, the indicator led must turn blue)
6) press "Select Kernel to HotBoot" in the flashtools (in hootboot the kernel its no really flashed)
7) select the custom kernel with recovery
8) the phone restart, press continiously volume down to enter in recovery mode
9) in the recovery enter in install zip from sdcard
10) install root.zip
flashing this file with CWM the phone gain root access, i have only prove it with the mini, i don't know if it works for other models
a video from my rooted mini

Now..
Custom kernels already give root, after you have installed the kernel.

I made topic like in in general G3 forums but probably many users dont go there I will post it here also.
There is more and more new users coming to G3 and most of them have the same questions. This is a small FAQ about most frequent questions. I will update FAQ from time to time with new questions.
Q1: How many models are outhere?
Many. HERE is the list so check here.
Q2: How do I make an EFS and MODEM backup?
In recovery. Flash TWRP recovery and choose EFS in backup. I would suggest you to make EFS backup before you do anything on the phone.
Or use this method and make flashable EFS backup.
Q3: How do I root my phone?
There are few methods. Choose one that is for your variant. Purple Drake, Stump Root, IOroot.
Check this spreadsheet to see with what tool you can root your model.
Q4: How do I flash custom recovery?
Download recovery from HERE and flash it with FLASHIFY APP.
Or use ADB command explained HERE.Q5: Where can I find stock firmware image?
You can find it HERE. Just type your IMEI.
Or HERE thanks to hyelton.Q6: How do I unroot my phone?
Just flash the stock firmware. Follow THIS GUIDE.
Q7: How do I enter recovery mode?
Power off the phone. Press Volume down and power button. When you see LG logo, keep holding Volume Down, release Power and quickly press it again.
You will be asked to questions and choose YES on them (do not worry, factory reset will not happen) and congrats, you are in recovery.
Q8: What ROM should I download?
Check index HERE. Thanks benkxda.
Q9: How do I install a certain ROM?
Make sure it is for your model, download it, place it on phone storage, boot into recovery, do a nandroid backup and then wipe the system. And least press install and choose ROM.
Q10: I am on rooted/stock Lollipop. How do I get back to Kitkat?
If you have nandroid backup just flash nandroid backup. Or flash stock firmware and see number 6. question.Q11: Can I convert one model to another (example: D852 to D855)?
NO! Do not try to do that.
Q12: My IMEI disappeared. What should I do?
Restore EFS backup. It is explained HERE.
Q13: Where is Flashlight on stock ROM?
There isn't one. Use PowerToggles or some other toggle app.
Q14: How to get rid of battery fully charged notification?
See my trick HERE.
Q15: How to root stock Lollipop?
You can't. You will have to revert to stock firmware, root the phone and flash some prerooted Lollipop ROM.
Q16: How do I enter Download mode?
Power off the phone. Plug the USB cabel and press and hold Volume Up. Download mode will appear.
Q17: Can I get small navigation bar on Lollipop?
Yes you can. Check HERE.
Q18: Can I still receive and install an OTA on my rooted device?
If you are on stock ROM there is a chance you will get notification about update but you will not be able to install it successfully. To install it you will have to unroot the device and go back to fully stock.Q19: My PC won't connect to the phone by USB, what do I do?
Make sure you have the correct drivers installed and that USB Debugging is enabled. And always try other ports on your PC.Q20: My battery is draining fast. What should I do?
Monitor your battery with Gsam Battery Monitor or BetterBatteryStats and Wakelock Detector to find out what is draining your battery. After you find out uninstall or freeze that app/process.Q21: How to access camera when screen is off?
Press and hold volume down button (works on stock ROMs only).
I was trying to flash an MIUI ROM to my phone, so
here is what I have done:
- unlocker the bootloader.
- install the recovery.
- flashed the ROM.
- reboot the device.
after I finished all the above steps my phone have stuck in the boot loop, so the obvious solution for me was to reinstall the stock ROM so I have done that by:
- download MIFlash.
- download stock ROM.
- unzip the ROM.
- then I flashed the ROM.
the flashing process took longer than usual, so i have unplugged my phone and tried to reboot it, then the phone doesn't work, even the screen not working, the only sign that the phone is working is when I plug it in my computer I see MIFlash recognize it as COM20 port.
anyone helps me please.

Please tell us which versions you have tried to install. It may be that you will try to install Android 10 and you were already with Android 11.
In that case it may be that the phone has been bricked. You can check how to reset it in this other post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/this-way-i-unbrick-mi-a3-no-qfil.4231465/

Greeting,
I ask good people for help, more than a month trying to revive my a3.
It’s a child’s cell phone so I don’t know if update 11 worked so it blocked or the display went off disinfectants.
I made a repair according to "We A3 UNBRİCK Solution After Update Android 11! For FREE exclusive 2021!
, everything went without a hitch.
The current situation is that the phone works if the call if I put the sim card, it normally charges, the display is black and there is no response on the display, if there is one I can't see.
If someone has a suggestion of what to do, how can I know which Android is on it now, how can I know if maybe the display itself is broken.
Thank You in advance.
I don't saw the video but the solution is: download and install miflash tool. Connect your phone to pc in edl mode with a normal usb cable Flash a11 fastboot stock firmware. That's all
