Has anybody else noticed the sound quality has gotten a lot better with the last update? Music is louder, crisper, and frequencies stand out more.
Thoughts? Or is it just me?

I generally only listen to music in the car over Bluetooth. It definitely has improved.
Yes I have noticed a big jump in sound quality and I like it way louder can bearly keep my volume up to max for to long

Yes, I've noticed. However, it only got bad after the last update, so I assumed that they just fixed what they broke last time.

No issues here, sounds fine on both phone speaker and thru headphones.Pandora version 1.6
OP I am having the same issue. Not sure why or if there is a fix but I was going crazy trying to figure out why the popping noise was happening. After testing diff headphones and audio sources I only had popping noise with Pandora
Yep same here. It's a pandora streaming thing.
Sent from my EVO LTE
Yeah noticed only on headphones its like a streaming tick this happened before on my other evos and wonder if Pandora needs an update, seems worse on high quality.

Thanks for the thread. I was using pandora in my car since my OG Evo and heard the popping noises as well. I attributed it to a problem with the bluetooth connection to my deck, a wiring problem, or just crappy car speakers. Now I know why.
I am New To Beats Auido and it does sound great... But my speakers seem quiet.. The ringer and notifications need to be brought up more... I have been look for some kind of eq or Something (yes I did check.. All the volumes are up!).
I would. Just. Think that with beats audio I would get a app like voodoo....
So is There a. Beats audio app or am I going to have to wait. For a. Kernal and voodoo???

Beats Audio essentially IS an EQ (a bad one at that) that cranks your bass and highs, and muddles everything in between. Sound is pretty great with it turned off.
I have also found the volume on this phone to be annoyingly low though - no idea how to fix that one. Anything below "half" on the volume meter is almost inaudible.

I don't use your phone though... but a piece of advice to increase volume try volume + from market or you can get it at androidaudiohacks.com for free(not pirated, its the devs website)!! N btw its only for rooted users...

And were back in the lifeless cycle of cranking up our phones and blowing our speakers.. The same scenario happened on the EVo 4g and a lot of Rom users complained of blown speakers.. Don't mess with it!

Well I find the sound very clear.. Well at least compared to my epic 4g... But it could be a lot louder. I will look into volume +... But I definitely don't want to blow my speakers.

How is the quality of the loudspeaker for calls and music as compared to HTC One X and Samsung GS 3?
Anyone?
I, like everyone else who didn't get the phone at the announcement event, haven't received the phone yet. But this is definitely a question I would like to know the answer to also. I have had the Evo 4G, Evo 3D, and now the rezound and my least favorite part about all of them has been speaker volume and quality. I know that the DNA has a dedicated amplifier for the loudspeaker and the headphone jack (can't remember the exact wattage), so I am really hoping for the best here. I want to be able to watch and hear a YouTube video when i am in an area that isn't completely silent, something that I haven't been able to do with my last 3 phones. We should be getting our phones towards the beginning of next week and if you haven't gotten an answer by then I will post my findings here
Thanks mate... Look forward... Surprisingly I am not getting an answer to this question anywhere in the forum even though many seem to have the phone already! Anyways I look forward to your feedback.

I have read that it's clear until the volume is at its peak and it also isn't that loud. The only loudspeaker I have heard that is amazing is the iPhone 4S due to it being so loud and clear only if it ran android.

My evo lte is not that loud. Better than my old 3d but not loud enough.

I am surprised no one having this phone is giving feedback on this issue.. All feedback on the forums seems to be obsessed with battery life only!

OK, Received my phone this morning so here is my feedback. The speaker is excellent. It is quite loud and music is clear even all the way up. It's still a phone though so I don't see myself listening to music on the speaker. It is really good on headphones! Both are definitely better than S3 but can't speak to the One x.
Feedback anyone else?

I think the speaker is good. I would rate equal or slightly better than GS3.

Seems to work fine for me - no problems or issues here.
Does anyone have a rez WITHOUT the headphone/aux jack squeal? I have it and it's extremely annoying.

I have never noticed a squeal on my rezound when using headphones.

You don't hear any popping, or a noise of any kind when you use the aux port but don't have audio playing?
Never had any squealing or popping, and I've had 4 different Rezounds.
Edit: unless you're taking about the staticy or hissing sound that you get with no sound coming out, that's been that way on every Android phone I've ever had.

Just spoke to vzw, they're sending me a replacement. On a side note, I've spoken to vzw regarding replacements a billion times (ranging from eris, to fascinate, to inc 2, eris, centro, etc.) and this was the single coolest rep I've spoken to
Get over it. Every Rezound does it.
I don't usually plug in my headphones and listen to nothing, so I've never heard the squealing or hissing of android silence.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
I only get it when using it as an aux out. To me, it sounds like the ground floats when it's not outputting audio, so anything powered gets it while anything unpowered wouldn't be effected.

rezound replacement number 2 had this. sent it back and havent had this problem yet.
3 different Rezounds and they all have it, it's annoying when I'm listening to music at work where the volume is very low. At low volumes it does diminish the audio fidelity. I also here it if on a call using the wired headset.
I didn't have any of the problems with call quality that some of you but today I noticed a problem that I am hoping one of you may have a solution to. The call quality that I hear in my ear all of a sudden today became very tinty sounding and a little distorted. However when I listen to the call vis the speaker or a headphone the quality is okay. Is there another speaker that could have gone bad or a setting that would impact this?
