Are you sure you have the GT-I9100 and not the GT-I9100G variant? Check in settings > about.

I have flashed my GS II so many times that I suspect it has acquired the Multiple Rom Disorder.
Should I ODIN it back to stock unrooted and then try to flash the ROM or should I just full wipe and have another crack a it?
You've flashed between roms without wiping each time? You should always do a full wipe before flashing a new rom.

What process did you use to flash LPT?

i did it.
now i flashed siyah 4 and i installed CM9 from CWM and all ok now
but i want to use this rom i will try to flash it again
is it safe?
Yes LPT is safe I'm on a modified version of it right now. It's not the ROM but the kernal that is the problem with certain 4.0.4 leaked ROMs. If you use siyah as your kernel you will be safe.

You're device is fine. I have the same thing and I've flashed hundreds of times. You just have to know what you're flashing and understand the basics

I am familiar with flashing. I had the LG Optimus LTE before this and flashed quite a few roms, This phone however has me awfully confused. I have been researching all day. And so far i am under the understanding that the touch cwm are not good and the use the 4.0.1.5 recovery. But what i don't understand is how do you install roms without wiping data/factory reset through cwm? don't most roms require this? and isn't that what causes the superbrick? Sorry for sounding like a noob. but can you tell me how you do your flashing?

Just use a different kernel, like siyah (www.gokhanmoral.com and make it's for the s2 not s3). Then you can wipe data. Just didn't not be on 4.0.4, and have a samsung based kernel (the kernel dev should have info in the op). Once you're on a safe kernel you can flash whatever you want and wipe data.

Yeah, you should be able to flash through Odin. And you can flash back to stock by getting a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin

Yes I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache. Couldn't get into recovery so i just re-flashed my firmware via odin. All is good now and successfully flashed cm9 with no issues. Must have been a bug in the rom.
If a want to upgrade to CM 10 or CM9, from my stock rom, do I really need to do a wipe data, wipe factory reset? & what would happen if I do not? Is there any chance that something bad happen to it? Thank you guys Greetings.

Yes, if coming from a GB based rom you should wipe date/factory reset.
Is there any reason why you cant? All you need to do is backup apps/app data with Titanium Backup and then restore once you have fresh rom.

1. Yeah full wipe is recommended if you are downgrading or upgrading to another Android version.
2. If you don't do full wipe there are chances that your CM9 will not bee stable, freezes and lockups here and there

Yes, you would just flash the stock ROM using Odin, and that would "unroot" your handset in the process.
If you try to switch from stock to a custom ROM, or between different custom ROMs without wiping your data, you can soft or hard-brick your handset. It's not worth the risk.
Hi!
