sixaxis controller mapps - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Ok so this beast of a phone has a beast of a display and is sixaxis compatable. This is the thread to use for mapping out the controlls to games of all types and to talk about the gaming capabilities of this wonderfully huge phone. As soon as I figure out how to put files in the message (I have no idea how, pm me and ill put my mapps in)update regularly. Im relatively new to all this so give me some time and im sure Ill be able to help out a lot more. And for those who dont know this app requires root heres a link on how to do so...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207
I know its not difficult to map but we can save eachother a lot of time. Have a great holiday season all.

I don't have any Touch Profiles yet but I think I am going to end up needing one for N64oid. It doesn't have native analog support and thus I need to run with a touch profile. Pain in the arse to setup.
Best way to do it is to get in your game that you need the profile for, take a screenshot with as little on screen as possible just the touch keys overlay, and then use it to map out the controller inputs.
I tried doing it for N64oid but was having a really hard time scaling the analog sticks up to perfectly fit the C Buttons and main analog stick. It wasn't big enough.

I Have a few
Asphalt 7
Gangstar rio
n64
Nova 3
Samuray 2
Wild Blood
Batman
Modern Combat 4
NFS most wanted
Real Racing 2
The Amazing spiderman
Zoombiewood
some of them already support gamepad but the profiles are better in some cases

Mapping isnt necisarily hard. Its just time consuming. The only one im having a problem with is COD zombies. Every time I try to shoot it relocates the directional key because theres no assigned button... thanks for posting your mapps. I have a few more to do and then ima try to post a downloadable link... try... luckily my new viao is here for rooting and programing so im gonna be on a lot more.

Gears of War shooter for WVGA devices plus playstation mobile news

Here is a simple version of Gears of war for all WVGA devices. Like the console version the game is not easy. You have to know when to let your gun off, when to run, or when to hide behind barricades to avoid enemy fire.

For those who played the game can you tell me how it ran on your device thank you.
Looks good bro. It also looks like the buttons got distorted a lil bit.

I just like the fact you can use xbox graphics on windows mobile and still retain the speed of the console.
On the home page and "http ://www .xda-developers .com/windows-mobile/gears-of-war-available-for-wm/" they describe it as "another PlayStation classic game".
Blasphemy!
GoW is an exclusive title for the Xbox360 and GFW.
PlayStation [Spit] Classic my PackDonkey... 500 hail marys and a dip in a bath of holy water for you!
Anyway. looks good. I will try this later and tell you how it runs on my TG01.
(ps, can a moderators unristrict me please, it took me ages posting this, I'm not going to spam the forum, I prommise)
Hi,
is this an emulator or is this a port?
I am sorry to be a bit paranoid here - but you know the recent value added number cases...
Feedback
Ok
1st This is a version I made on my spare time. I made it because I wanted something fun to play on my phone.
2nd Ok you need to go ahead and download Xbox360 emulator Just kidding!! This is a cab just download it and it installs. You dont need an emulator to play. Have fun!!
I am running a WVGA Imagio running NRG's custom ROM. I LOVE GoW and will download this and give you a report on its performance! Looking forward to kicking some more locust butt while on the move!
Works pretty good! And yea, it is as difficult as the first GoW was. I only noticed one thing, early in the game, right at the start, if Marcus gets hit, I can still shoot for several minutes before I start over again. A little glitch.
Also, the controls aren't very responsive, but outside of that, pretty good start!
First I'll try on hd2, then on tp2. It'd be great if it had hw keyboard support, does it? Doubt it, seems like us qwerty-slider users are a dying breed... mostly from lack of devices!
games
Ok in the future I will try to make a resident evil port or any popular game I can find graphics for. Also if you want to try some of my other games , they are located in this website
www.krenisiswinmobilegamesapps.com
Kinda cool, lags a bit on my Touch Diamond 2 though. It would also be heaps better if you could add resistive dual touch so we can shoot while moving. It shouldn't be very difficult to code.
touch
The tool that I use doesnt support plug-ins . If it did I would love to install the multi-touch API that is said to be on xda-developers.
Hopefully my tools will get an upgrade soon!!
Didn't test it out yet, but looks great. Keep up the good work.
If you want to implement resistive dual touch, the best way is to put an invisible button directly in between the two buttons that would be pressed together, so if you were pressing right and a, you would place a button directly between them that does both. Do the same with all other buttons and you will be sweet.

Thanks I have found a way to code a jump left and jump right buttons. Now the games should be smoother. I might do another supermariobros remake using that. THANKS!!
for the ones who didnt see
Its been a couple of months since this game came out. Iam sure many people have brought touchpro2 or HD2 that didnt get a chance to download game so Iam giving it a well deserved bump.

PlayStation Store Game Reviews for Tablet S

Coolboarders - Not worth it
I just blew $6 on Coolboarders. I remembered playing Coolboarders 2 on the original PS, so thought this was a safe bet to try out the new PlayStation store. The graphics are kinda choppy, and the controls are really difficult. I'd hold off if you have your eye on Coolboarders, at least until the tablet works with a PS3 controller.
Its annoying because I have like 20 PSone games on my PS3 that I would have to repurchase to play on the tablet.
If anyone could rip /data/data/PACKAGE_NAME/libs/lib*.so for a PSN store game or get it out of the APK, PM me. I want to know how much the emulator has changed and if it would be more compatible with psxperia.
I downloaded WILD ARMS last night and played it for about 2 hours, I remember it being one of my favorite PS titles back in the day. Pretty fun, basic, linear RPG. Controlling the game with the on screen controller is very simple in this classic style rpg, but I could see how it could get more difficult on the faster-paced games since it's hard to keep a close eye on your thumbs while you're playing. That being said, animations were smooth and, although not improved much from the PS days - as expected - everything played perfectly. Would give 4.5/5 stars! I'll probably be downloading syphon filter and maybe midevil today!
yifanlu, if I knew how I might...
I watched a youtube video of someone playing Crash Bandicoot on the Sony Tablet S using a Logitech wired basic controller and every button worked, so I pulled mine out, plugged it in, and everything worked perfectly, I am excited. So I download a couple of games, start them up, and you know what? Not 1 of them worked with the controller perfectly (either the up down left right worked and the buttons didn't, or vice versa...). Yeah, I didn't expect for the Logitech controller to work, but after Crash Bandicoot, I was hopeful. Needless to say I don't like the button on screen style that Sony is insisting we use (until Playstation controllers are compatible).
I wonder when some good games are going to become available - I like RPG's so am anxious about FF7 (and all the FF titles, really), but there are many games I like on the PSX (Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal, Tony Hawk, Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, and on and on I could go...).

Word. I don't care how "livable" touch controls can be. No physical buttons = fail.
I know it's Sony, and everyone is trying to make bigger profits, but sometimes you got to give a little to get a lot. This is out right before Christmas season and by offering some nice incentives might make this more appealing to buyers (and existing owners - you know, word of mouth).
It'll never happen, but I wish they would make it like an emulator so we could have more options, although it would probably require root. Funny thing about root with this, I had the manager at the Sony store in the mall tell me that "it will not void the warranty if I was to root the Sony Tablet S." Granted there isn't a program to root it, yet, that I know of, but would like the extra versatility it offers.
So I ended up buying Hot Shots Golf, Destruction Derby, and Wild Arms - none of them worked with either of my (wired) controllers (I have 2, both Logitech, one with the joysticks and one without, both had the issues I mentioned in my previous post so I guess you could say they half worked...). The graphics weren't bad, maybe a little better than the original Playstation, but it's been so long since I played on one I couldn't say - I never played a psp.
I just checked out of curiosity and once you buy a game (now all are $5.99), it appears that you can download it at any time - in case you don't have the memory on your tablet, or need to delete a game to make more room.
I bought a Seagate GoFlex portable 500gb hard drive at Wal Mart on sale for $50 a while back yet I have Windows 7 and it was formatted to NTFS (with Windows 7 you can't format to FAT 32 which is needed to be compatible with the Sony Tablet S). I finally took the time to find a program to do so, so now I can store all my music and video's (too bad not emulator's and roms...) and have access to them on the go. What else might I be able to do with an external hard drive and this tablet?
Does anyone know when more games are going to be released on the Sony Store?
Did anyone tried with Xbox360 USB controller?
I'm using the Wiimote, works like a charm..
use Wiimote controller app from market and you should be able to play every game, even the Psx games. (i use the Wiimote when playing NES games trough Nes.emu)
i saw on youtube when using the Logitech wired game controller the played Crash Bandicoot with a Psx emulator, think it was called FPSe (google it)

Stay away from hot shot golf 2. Delay on swing and just not good. I remember when it came out for my ps. Loved it. This is the same game but the touch screen gives it a delay and it just Doesn't do it.

CyanogenMod 9 Gaming thread

Hey xda-ers
I've been on the cm9 beta for a little while now and it seems like there are a lot of games that work quite well in the alpha and some that are a screen-tearing, frame-dropping mess. So I have the idea to start up this thread, a thread primarily dedicated to sharing which games work really well on cm9. I personally will be posting review sort of things on here that go quite in-depth but you guys can post in however much detail you want. You can post about the hardest of hardcore games to the easiest of casual games but as long as its relevant it will hopefully be appreciated. I do want to have a couple of rules for this thread and they're as follows:
*No bashing other peoples reviews or opinions- everyone is entitled to their own opinion and while I'm ok with a respectful discussion I don't want flame wars in here.
*Please keep it relevant to cm9- this thread is about _cm9_ gaming, I don't care if you go and make a gaming thread for a different rom but I don't want posts about cm7 or MIUI in here.
*have fun- don't feel obligated to post something if you don't want to. Try to have fun in here and I'll try to too.
Well thanks guys I hope we can all help each other find some good games to play, please follow the rules and hopefully this will be a nice thread to be in.
Help make this community a little nicer guys!
Thanks
-Silente

Well I'll be kicking things off!
My first recommendation/review:
Dungeon Defenders: Second wave
Overview-
Dungeon defenders is a mix between a tower defense fantasy game and a traditional 3d RPG. The main premise is that the kingdoms heroes have gone off to defeat some great evil and have left their kids to guard the castle. In each area/map there is an eternia crystal that you have to set up towers and traps and such to defend from the waves of monsters.
Gameplay-
Gameplay is mainly governed by one of four classes each with their own play styles and pros/cons.
The apprentice-
The long ranged, magic user who places down towers that shoot long range projectiles.
The apprentice is the easiest class to use and is by far the best for beginners as his towers are the easiest to start off with and his skills are easy to understand and use.
The huntress-
The long ranged, assassin class.
The huntress wields either a crossbow or gun that deals long ranged damage and places down traps that activate when stepped on by monsters. The huntress can be somewhat hard to use due to her slightly less straightforward traps.
The squire-
The close ranged tank.
The squire combines melee attacks with brutal close ranged towers to destroy enemies quickly up close.
The Knight has some of the best starter towers in the game but he is at somewhat of a disadvantage without teammates to back him up due to his only close range play style.
The monk-
The all around skillful class.
The monk combines the first three classes in a Jack of all trades sort of play style. He has a melee attack as well as a long ranged magic attack with towers that deal different affects when stepped on by enemies. He is definately the hardest class to play due to his lack of a prominent skill and towers that need some getting used to and upgrades to really learn how to use effectively.
So once you've chosen a class its time to jump into the game.
There's a helpful tutorial that you can jump into but its not a super complicated game at first. Each map is made up of different rounds. At the end of each round chests will appear with Mana in them, the currency you use to build towers and buy or upgrade things after the round has ended. You also get mana from killing the various mobs that spawn throughout the wave. You also earn xp that goes towards level ups that let you carry more mana and unlocks new towers for you to build. Also when you level up you can attribute skill points to different skills such as player or tower damage, health, speed etc etc. Monsters also drop random items which you can equip or sell in between rounds.
After the round is over you can buy and sell weapons and armor, and upgrade you currently have equipped. The sheer number of weapons and upgrades you can apply to them makes it easy to make sure no two are the same.
Multiplayer-
The multiplayer element of this game is WHERE ITS AT! This game really shines through and its super easy to jump into a match and start playing as long as you have a good internet connection (which at time of writing I didn't). All you need to do is sign up for a game spy account which while can sometimes be a hassle keeps the hackers and cheaters out and keeps the fun consistent. Once you've made that account you can quick join a game or open up a server browser to pick between maps, difficulties and game modes. Once you join its smooth sailing and the different classes are very well designed to overlap and coordinate together in the multi player game modes. If you can get several friends to get this you will have a great time indeed.
Controls-
There aren't too many options for the controls but overall they're not too bad. The way to move your character is to rotate the wheel-ish joystick in the left portion of the screen. That controls both movement and direction mind you so it might take a little bit to get used to but once you do its just fine. Its hard to describe exactly how to use it because I've never seen another control scheme like it. The buttons around the other edges of the screen control other movement controls such as jumping or attacking, as well as selecting what towers to build (actual placement is done through touch input) or what abilities to activate or spells to cast. The game defaults to having the actual movement touchpad being invisible but that seems really stupid so I recommend turning that off in the settings. So while not completely perfect the controls are definately usable and should be relatively easy to learn for most users.
Graphics/Performance on cm9-
The game has a graphics slider that allows you to go from HD crisp graphics to blurry pixelated retro goodness. On the highest graphics setting the screen tearing really sets in but on lower resolution on the slider you can get very good performance on cm9. Overall it performs quite well with no hw accel and it will only get better once we get full acceleration.
Verdict-
Overall this game offers up some great RPG game play mixed in with some tower defense elements and kick ass multi player. The controls are manageable and if you want to have some long term fun, (as you can go quite in depth) this is a great choice and for a free game it couldn't be a better deal. I'd recommend it to any Android gamer and its a great game.

I'd love to contribute but I've found that with cm9 I haven't been able to find most of my favorite games on the market
Yeah, that's a problem, although most of them would run. Try using Apk leecher on your PC and then side loading them. Might work, but I'm not sure if you can download paid apps even if you've bought them.

One thing that doesn't work is using three fingers to access the menu. I get around this by opening up the recent apps thing and closing it, which then pauses the game, opening the menu.
Also, swiping to slow down/speed up the game does not seem to work as well.
Draw Something, Angry bird's, Sonic CD and Plants vs Zombies work great
Unfortunately my favorites don't show up and I'd love to test them
Shadowgun, FIFA 12, Modern Combat 3, Asphalt 6, Riptide GP, and NOVA 2

With the default cm9 build.prop the gameloft games dont work. I'll try modifying mine to look like a Droid 3 (which worked fine for cm7) and get back to you on that. I'll also mention their performance too. If I get the chance to DL the big-ass game data.

Haven't changed my build.prop because no one has said it is OK to do so as of yet nor what i would change. I like the play store recognizing the nook as a tablet as well
You know... it's funny. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, mupen64plus emulator, ran with amazing speed in CM7. However the video and colors were kinda bad. Like buttons just looked weird, and sometimes there would be random squares.
HOWEVER. On CM9, the video and graphics are superlative. However, it lags obviously. Not TOO much... I mean it's definitely playable, but if you are fighting Gannondorf it's kind of annoying. Hopefully rebellos will get this kind of thing working for us.

One app, but the resolution can be turned up to 100%, other features like sorta like the GTA 3 options.
I really like it so far, brings back good memories playing this game for the PS1 back in the day! Controls work well, I didnt have to make any adjustments to them, I had to turn the brightness up a bit though in the settings. Overall, well worth the $3.00 asking price.
yeah, happy memories runs well and has built in ps3 gamepad support (bluetooth)... no sixaxis app required.

RockStar hit a home run with this game. I am very impressed with the graphics(with everything in video cut on or to the Max). Really good graphics. Looks way better than what I remember playing it back in the day. Love the story line. I forgot all about they killed his wife n child. I made it to the subway, first part then saved. Will get more into the game later tonight.
Also this game played fine, so far, on this new build I'm testing. No issues at all. Games like this, ShadowGun, & sonic 2 are the reason of love the tegra3 chipset so much. Nvidia is really smart giving us these exclusive optimized versions. It makes people want a tegra3 tablet. Tegra3 tablets are the best. Can't wait to see what tegra4 with likely keplar based gpu will bring. With games like these,I don't need a console system. Plus the games are alot cheaper
I'm now ready for Bladeslinger, that zombie fps, and any other tegra3 optimized game. I gotta have em all..lol. make sure to play this game, or any other game, with superips+ on. I have it at lowest setting usually. It makes the games, colors, details, display pop more. Its so much better with this mode on.
I've purchased all the high end games that has come out thus far but somehow I'm holding back on this one. Probably because I've already played it so many times back in the days. Everything's identical to the pc version even his face lol. Intro is exactly the same. I'm really glad though that game developers are recognizing android now and putting out high end games close to or at the same time as the ipad versions.

[Q]Optimal settings for FPSE (Playstation Emulator)?

Hey guys, this is probably a noob question but it's been a long week.
I've got fpse on my phone and I want to play playstation games with it. However, the game keeps hopping between 40fps and 20fps. I know that's nonsense because I could get it steady at 60fps on both my old galaxy tab 10.1 and my epic touch.
So, my question is, what are the optimal settings that I need to enable/disable in order to get 60fps. I know the processor can handle it, lesser processors already have.
Thanks

Change frameskip to auto. But my suggestion is get a ps1. I've grown to loathe emulation, especially on phones. Touch controls suck and I know about using a ps3 controller.
It still sucks and looks weird playing games that won't work right because its emulated and on a tiny screen. Yes you can use the media link or mhl, but if your going through all that trouble why not get the console and hook it up. The cost of all that jazz is more expensive than the actual system plus games anyway.

Hahaha thank you for your response. The frameskip did most of the work...changing my governor to something other than "conservative" did the rest.
Happily, I actually already have a MHL cable (I use my phone to watch live hockey games...when there isn't a lockout) and a PS3 controller, so I actually do use it as a console. My gf has a PS1 and has a few fun games for it, but I just enough the experience. I do have to play on mute, because sound never seems to work right.
