[Q] wifi tether shuts down wifi..

When i enable wifi hotspot or wifi tether it shuts down wifi. some apps do not communicate with same network even though it can ping each other.
Obviously, WiFi tether/hotspot needs the same WiFi transceiver that is used for WiFi reception, so they can't work continuously. You won't find any phone that doesn't have it the same way, because it doesn't make any practical sense to have both WiFi and WiFi hotspot on at the same time.
When you hotshot you can only share your mobile internet over wifi as the wifi of the phone cannot simultaneously receive and share Internet. You can only receive mobile internet and share wifi, hope that clears things up a little
Like it was said earlier, you can only choose to connect to the Internet or share it, not both at the same time.

Wifi turning on by itself

Anybody have there wifi cut on after having disabled it
Do you have do not allow google to use Wi-Fi scanning turned off under your advanced Wi-Fi settings?
No
I mean it wasn't turned on
It needs to be disabled

3G does not work if Wi-Fi enabled

Hi.
I like my Gear S and it works fine. Anyways, there is one weird feature.
If I have enabled Wi-Fi and my 3G is set to automatic, the watch can't connect to 3G after losing Wi-Fi connection. If I disable Wi-Fi, 3G connects pretty fast and remote access works.
Have you had this issue? Is this a feature that should work like this or is it a bug?

Slow switch between wifi

Anyone experiencing slow switching between wifi after updating to nougat?
are you referring to switching between access points on a network as the signal strengths change or auto switch from data to a remembered Wi-Fi network when it comes into range? I have problems with the phone switching to a stronger AP as I love through a building. I think you can try turning on "always allow Wi-Fi roam scans" in developer options. I can't remember if it helps the AP problem or just switching between Wi-Fi networks.

H830 Oreo Upgrade HotSpot Tethering changes

I just updated to Oreo last Friday and I noticed one change in the tethering - When I enable Mobile Hotspot, the default IP address of the G5 is 192.168.43.1.
On my client (not the phone), I have a script to ping the 192.168.43.1 IP to detect if it is using hotspot or not. But after Oreo upgrade, that ping always fails.
Can someone tell me if this behavior change is related to Oreo? Is there a Firewall enabled by Oreo? Can I have it turned off?
Also, when turning on Hotspot, Wi-Fi is turned off as expected. But when Hotspot is turned off, Wi-Fi is not turned back on. I think this behavior is changed. I remember my Wi-Fi is turned back on when I disable HotSpot. This can be quite annoying.
