Hi All,
OK, so I've soft bricked my S3, or so I hope.
It was fine when I took it off charge this morning, but at work I noticed that my pocket was getting oddly hot..
Took my phone out my pocket and the phone was stuck on the boot screen (the first one).
Went into recovery and tried a cache wipe, dalvik wipe, still the same, then tried a wipe data/factory reset, and the system kept rebooting before it finished the wipe!
Then I tried flashing the OMEGA ROM I had on my SD card and the aroma installer would start, but as soon as it tried to do any sort of wipe at the start, the phone rebooted again!!
So after this I decided to download the latest stock firmware from samsung-updates.com and flash via odin. The firmware flashed OK but then the phone would not start again, still stuck at the boot logo.
I then tried to flash the CWM recovery again from the samsung galaxys3 toolkit folder on my C: drive. When trying to flash this, it kept getting stuck at "NAND Write Start!!" and would not go any further. Now whatever I try and flash via ODIN it gets stuck at NAND Write Start!!
I also have tried flashing the latest .pit along with and separely to the ROM with the "Re-Partition" button checked in ODIN and it just fails every time.
Is there anything I can do? Or if I have to send it to the service centre, is there a way to reset the binary counter from download mode? :/ Mine is saying 7 counts.
anyone?

So i wanted to go back to my stock firmware and tried to flash it with odin, but i got a big problem: it stucks on the S logo. I tried searching on the thread with bootloops but didn't found.
This is what i did:
At PDA i selected I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XEULP5_HOME.tar.md5
Then i selected F. Reset Time and i started flashing.. After it says PASS it remains on that logo..
Note: I tried with another firmware and still the same.
one you do not tick or untick anything in Odin.
Two you need to do wipe before and after flashing.
Three it takes some time on fresh stock flash to boot.
If you can do download mode than first go to recovery wipe using cwm do format system and data, after that odin flash.
I think the only thing you have to do now is a full wipe... you dont have to flash a new fw or something else...
anyone know how to flash back to stock rom from slimbean? i flash slimbeam onto my phone, and i wanna flash it back to stock now... i found it on google saying that just direct flash with odin, but my phone now is stuck on start up page with a samsung logo in the middle. is my phone bricked? :crying:
First off, what phone do you have? I.e. what model of the SGS3?
Secondly, if it doesn't proceed from the first boot logo, try going into your recovery (if you have one) with Power+Home+Volume Up and then select to factory reset your phone. The easiest would be to flash cf-root, which provides clockworkmodrecovery, and then boot into it and select to wipe data.
I suspect that it hanged at the boot logo because ODIN doesn't wipe any data while flashing, so the left-over data from Slimbean is still there.
it worked!

THANKS!!! : D it worked. it's back to stock now.
yeah the update process with odin on the SGS3 requires reseting factory after flashing
the only problem is all ur files are gone noow (music, pictures)
Hey guys.
So the phone had this problem where it was stuck on the samsung Logo, so i flashed a complete stock Jellybean build (all correct and stuff, not a beginner ), also wiped data from recov just in case
Now heres the problem...
when the phone boots up, it goes through the first time "Optimizing Apps", but once it reaches a certain number, ittl reboot the phone then start going through it again and again.
Anyway i could somehow make the phone actually boot? Any help?
Thanks in advance
If you can enter recovery, do the wipes and a factory reset, then try to boot.
If you're in the same situation, flash the stock JB update using Odin and a pc. That will wipe your phone. Then flash TWRP for your recovery using Odin and a pc.
You will need to have the correct type of file for Odin.
I have samsung galaxy ace 5830i
yesterday i restarted it but i got stuck on bootloop where it repeats the samsung logo
my phone was rooted and i did increase the internal memory using link2sd and stuff.
i tried everything from factory reset to reflashing the stock rom but the boot loops is not fix.
i tried to connect it with kies to flash the original firmware but even in the download mode the kies won't recognize my device.
i even tried flashing other custom roms and then doing factory reset wiping cache files dalvik files etc but nothing is working for me
Help will really be appreciated
The same happened to me i advice you to unbrick using ODIN

if you have custom rom or stock rom coocked the kies cant help you.
do these solutions in order :
>>>solution 1 : in recovery do facotry reset and install rom , wip cache and dalvick. the first boot take time. so wait. if not worck try to format system before flashing rom.
>>>solution 2 : factory reset in recovery then install stock firemware by odin after flash is complete enter to recovery and do factory reset again. the first boot take time. so wait.
>>>solution 3 (danger, do it only if you give up if you dont have any other solution) : flash stock firmeware with odin but cheek nand erase all in odin, after flash is complete enter to recovery and do factory reset(compulsory).the first boot take time. so wait.
use latest odin version.
good luck.
Hi I have a SM-N910F model which is proving extremely difficult to flash. I firstly flashed the latest Marshmallow UK BTU firmware on it which resulted in a boot loop. I cleared cache partition and wiped data/factory reset in the stock recovery (and TWRM recovery) but this did not fix the problem. So I flashed the phone again and this time it was stuck in a boot loop with the text "recovering booting..." at the top left. Tried the same as before and still didnt fix it.
So I then tried a different stock rom - Lollipop UK BTU firmware. This gave me the exact same problems as before. However on a few occasions, I also got an error on the recovery screen saying cache could not be mounted. I cleared the cache partition, tried reformatting cache using TWRM but none of this worked. Eventually I reflashed and it went away but the boot loop doesnt go.
Lastly I tried an even older firmware - Kitkat UK BTU firmware. This again gave me a boot loop problem. It also kept displaying the cannot mount cache error as well. I tried using PIT file to repartition the device and eventually the error went but the device would still be on boot loop. However on two occasions the phone did go past the Samsung logo and show the first setup screen (where you select initial settings like Wifi etc). After like 10-15 seconds it would just switch off and then go back into boot loop. I havent managed to get to the first setup screen again.
I have tried flashing with various different Odin versions but still no luck.
I feel like I have exhausted my options and not sure what to do. Do you think I should try a custom rom? If so, for the sake of getting it to start, which is a good lightweight rom?
Does anyone know what I can do to make these infinite boot loops and/or "cannot mount cache" error go away?
Anyone? I could really do with some help..
I think you have problem with motherboard, try to find original stock frimeware, by country. If not help try custom rom. I suggest any AOSP rom such as Lineage OS or CM.
Tried 3 different stock roms. Like I said it will either be in a boot loop, recovery loop, or give an cache mounting error. Im hoping that the motherboard is not faulty because it is not always the same problem
Hi , I think is because You have FRP (Factory Reset Protection) On which means you can't flash property your phone .
What U can try is to extract recovery.img from latest stock firmware for your Region .
Now use this script to transform recovery.img to recovery.tar.md5
here is how to do :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269
Put your phone in download mode click on AP: and choose recovery.tar.md5
After that click on Start .
If the flashing was OK , put again your phone in Download mode and flash completely the same firmware with original recovery.img inside it.
Good Luck
One guy from forums.androidcentral.com posted it work on sm-n910t, Android 6.0.1 .
