Could anyone tell me how to install CWM recovery on the GT-I9100G ???
I've rooted it and it has Superuser but it doesn't have CWM... (It has the Download mode)
How can I install it ?? Please...
Go to the development section and find a kernel meant for I9100G which includes CWM recovery, then flash it.
From a quick look, [KERNEL][2.3.5][03-01-2012]superatmos v2.0 ONLY for *I9100G* and [KERNEL][I9100G][2.3.5]MyGKernel - CWM5, Root, CIFS.
How can I flash it If I don't have CWM recovery ??
Not so hot at reading eh?

No.. Actually didn't know how to use Odin !! But now I do...
find your build number and find the corresponding cf root kernel
and download Odin
and your phone on download mod and connect itto the computer
and flash the kernel via pda.
and it will have the cwm

Maybe someone with more patience and tolerance will jump in and give you the answer, or maybe you'll figure it out yourself. Which will it be? I guess time will tell.

No because I did this and It sent me to download mode again !!
But I installed ROM Manager and it sent to the Recovery...
Rom manager may or may not work properly on the SGS2, mostly not.
To get into recovery, its home+vol UP + power.
My Device is stuck on the bootscreen with the yellow triangle after Flashing this using CWM

Oh man, why after all that did you decide to flash a ROM meant for the I9100 on your I9100G? You're lucky you didn't do more harm, since it even includes a kernel (Siyah) which is also only for the I9100. Anyway, my patience ran out about 6 posts back.
So what can i do ??!

Ah, that's too bad man.. I'm guessing you most probably can't access CWM, if you did in fact install that.
It was meant ONLY for the I9100, not the I9100G. Your best bet is going to download mode and installing an official Samsung ROM via Odin. I suppose.
Then doing the usual yabba-yabba to get your phone rooted again. This time make sure not to install stuff not meant for your phone..

Take out the battery. Before putting it back in, hold down the Volume Down and Home buttons. Then press the power button. Let go of the power button, but keep the others held down. You should now be in Download mode.

Right now I'd just concentrate on getting the phone back in working condition... install an official Samsung ROM to start with, then start tinkering with custom stuff. And be sure to read everything very, very carefully.
Is there any Custom ROM with root that I can flash directly without going back to the stock ROM ???
Hello everyone.
I need your help because my samsung galaxy s II has the "red screen of death" so I would need to get it back to stock rom before sending it to after sales service.

phone is from France so I dowload the France rom from sammobile
thx
Please anyone answer,
I downloaded I9100XWKJ2_I9100XEFKJ1_XEF.zip from sammobile, can you tell me how can I use it with Odin ?
Do I use this file for PDA, PHONE or CSC ?
Also what's the pit file ? When downloading Odin from sammobile, I have a s1_odin_20100512.pit, is it the right one ?
Thanks in advance !
this is en example use ur own file. (Proceed at your own risk. We are not liable if anything happens to your device by using this method. )
Step by Step Instructions:
Download the Android Firmware
Extract the downloaded file ‘I9100XXKL1_I9100OXAKL1.rar’ to get these 3 files:
CODE_I9100XXKL1_CL783870_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKL1.tar.md5
MODEM_I9100XXKL1_REV_02_CL1085162.tar.md5
Download Odin software
Disconnect your phone if it’s connected to PC. Switch Off your phone. Wait for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
Now, put the Galaxy S2 in Download Mode — press and hold these keys together: Volume_DOWN+Home+Power.
this is required to install the XXKG1 using Odin PC Software.
Open Odin (from step 3) — Odin3 v1.85.exe.
Connect your phone to PC now. You should get the message “Added! !”
under the Odin’s message box in the bottom left. If you don’t get this message,
than probably there is a problem with drivers. Make sure you’ve drivers installed.
Important! On Odin, Do NOT tick the ‘Re-Partition’ checkbox, but keep the ‘Auto Reboot’ & ‘F.
Reset Time’ checkboxes ticked. Do not touch any other checkbox or tab or anything, except as required in step 9 below.
Select these files in Odin at respective tabs (check out the screenshot given at the top for help):
Click the PDA Tab, and select CODE_I9100XXKL1_CL783870_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5 (from step 2.1)
Click the Phone Tab, and select MODEM_I9100XXKL1_REV_02_CL1085162.tar.md5 (from step 2.3)
Click the CSC Tab, and select GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKL1.tar.md5 (from step 2.2)
Now, hit the START button to let the process begin.
When process at Odin finishes your phone will automatically reboot —
and you can unplug the cable then.
Plus, you’ll get a PASS (with green background) message in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin.
If it’s red and with FAIL written over it, the process flashing process wasn’t successful.

You should never use a firmware or kernel for a different device, but it is sometimes recoverable.
For future reference, NEVER EVER EVER use a .pit file for a different device...

Since you flashed using an S1 .pit file, your only hope now is JTag repair. Nothing else has any chance of bringing your device back to life.

Not sure why you're ignoring my posts. You can get it fixed (JTag) for like $50 US. (I don't know what that translates to in your local currency)

I was trying to use above method to root my sgs2 international version with stock android 4.0.4. The problem is when i tried to flash CWM via stock recovery i couldnt navigate through options since my vol down key is not working. So is anyone kind enough to show me the easiest way to root may sgs2 and flash a costum rom on my phone. Thanks in advance.
Links to the tutorials would help me a lot. Thank you.
Edit: the easiest method i discovered was to use adb. plug in your device. run adb. type adb reboot download. and there you have it
Here mate try this. http://db.tt/MxD7F6xg. It's a temporary touch CWM recovery. Just flash through stock recovery
Anyway, is it a good idea to flash roms and stuff when your down button don't work? Say if you soft brick your phone and need to get into download mode to flash back to stock firmware, (oops can't as need the volume down key).
Unless you have a USB jig handy just to be on the safe side.
Just my 2 sense

As i said before i can boot into stock recovery but cannot navigate through it. If only i could change my recovery to CWM.

Edit: Try flashing this through Odin http://d-h.st/Bcf. It's siyah kernel thats pre-rooted and CWM installed.

Well, if you have to root your device I'm afraid you have to repair your volume down button (I personally wouldn't know any other way to boot into Download Mode otherwise, but maybe someone else..)
In Recovery Mode you can just use your volume+up button to scroll, right, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Sent from the Matrix
Jig will probably get you into DL mode.
Ahh Sh*t keep forgetting. OK a USB jig automatically put it into download mode right? Use that and then flash through Odin.
That's the final way I guess
@Donnie, I don't think you can go up in stock recovery to get to the bottom.
Edit: MistahBungle just beat me to it

u can buy one from Ebay at a throw away price though
I think in stock recovery it doesnt go to the bottom then backup to the top.Youd need both buttons to move the selector.
How can I fix this, I have tried many methods and I am worried if I take it into the store for warrenty they wont accept it as its rooted and has been flashed to Cyanogen and back to stock firmware.
I just want to know if its possible to completly wipe the sgs3 of all flashed stuff as I think CWM touch stopped my touchscreen from working
Reply?
I would love some help asap as the replacement can be done in 14 days since purchase, then it goes to repair. And I dont want to wait for repair. Thanks.
Please
Can someone please reply. I need to know if this can be fixed asap

in order ur phone to be able to covered under warranty u will need to return it to stock by flashing stock firmware through Odin. but thy can still check if ur phone has been rooted or anything other than stock has been flash on the phone. u will also need a USB jig to reset ur flash counter, though there is a tool from Chainfire but for that u need to have to use the phone first which i think u cant.here u can use the following steps
1. Download a stock ROM from sammobile but make sure to download the rom corresponding to your area.
2. put your phone into download mode
3. open Odin, when u see the phone appear in odin select the Firmware u downloaded in the PDA section of Odin. click Flash and wait untill it says PASS In Odin.(Don't check any boxes other then which are already checked in Odin)
4. Google for How to use USB Jig to reset Flash.
Hope that helps

Download mobile odin and try flash another kernel.
When you are attempting the key combination, are you doing with the phone on, or off?
The phone has to be off for them to work. If you do it with the phone on, it will only register the power button hold, and reboot normally.
Also, in what universe would it be considered any kind of brick if the phone works normally? (Never mind that I consider there to be no such thing as a "soft" brick)

He said to use Mobile ODIN, mobile ODIN is phone version of ODIN for desktop.
Install it and use it to flash Siyah kernel (.tar), It will automatically reboot device into its own flashing kernel. Once it flashes Siyah you can then try again to reboot into recovery or download.
[EDIT] Ok just re-read and you was on stock kernel so I'm assuming you're not rooted. In thsi case you need to try and do a direct soft-reboot into recovery. Download a rebootiong program off the Pplay store like "Hot Reboot". In this app you will have a option to reboot in recovery or download modes.
REMEMBER NOT TO DO ANY SORT OF WIPE IN STOCK RECOVERY OR YOU WILL BRICK DEVICE AND NEED NEW MOTHERBOARD.

The phone has to be off for them to work. If you do it with the phone on, it will only register the power button hold, and reboot normally.
Also, in what universe would it be considered any kind of brick if the phone works normally? (Never mind that I consider there to be no such thing as a "soft" brick)
