Hey, I searched but didn't really find the answer, heres the situation:
Whenever I run CM10 based roms I have two reoccuring issues: ( don't have these issues on Sense Roms )
1. Wifi: It will show wifi devices but we I connect it just says "Saved" not connected and isn't allowing me to use Wifi
2. ASOP Keyboard, I get a Android Keyboard has stopped working message. Tried clearing cache etc still does it ( this one is not as big as I use swiftkey3 anyway )
Currently running JellyBam latest nightly with Komodo Kernel, S-Off, and GAPPS 20121130

Try Unchecking avoid poor connections and also choose to 2.4ghz channel. That might help you.

Having the exact same Wifi problem as well. Tried the CM10, Komodo rls18 and Komodo rls21 kernels with the 12/26 CM10 Jewel build and no luck with any of those combos. I am S-ON and used fastboot to install the kernels. Didn't have the wifi issue on either StockwGoodies or MeanBean sense roms. Gonna go back to the latest MeanBean release for now.

Hello, I have tried the Resurrection Remix and the Dragon ICS AOKP roms and both have the same problem in my phone, they seem to work fine but suddenly my carrier's signal get lost and I have to reboot my device to make it work again.
Is it just me or is a general AOKP bug? Can it be fixed if so how? I couldn't find any fixes...
I really love these ROMs the are very customizable and all but I wish they don't have this signal drops
Thank you in advanced

Just a suggestion: Try to flash another modem.
Here you can find some modem files => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
Any in particula?
Do I have to try every Modem or which one is the best?
I live in Mexico, btw.
Thank you, again.
Gapps Upgrade [Solved]
I noticed that when you use the gapps given when flashing the AOKP build ## you don't get all the apps you would regularly get... Such as the google apps. (play store, google play, google movies, etc.) What's missing is those apps and some app within it.. i don't really know, but upgraded to this one "pa_gapps-full-4.2-20130308" from paranoid android (the rom I was previously using) and i gained my signal back. Just go into recovery mode and flash it, delete cache/dalvik cache (to be safe) and reboot system and your signals should come back, Along with setting up your phone again. NOTHING should be erased from previous settings.
That's what I did and I'm not responsible if anything happens to your own device. I didn't run into trouble, so i would think that nothing should happen to you.
Galaxy Nexus Sprint - Toroplus

Good Luck
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100, ROM: Rootbox JB v3.2, Kernel: 3.0.15-CM-g39df795 [email protected]
I can't work out at which point it happened, but at one point of flashing JellyBean ROMs onto my phone (currently RootBox) my Wifi and USB tethering stopped working properly.
When I connect to either, I get local-only. I can ping the phone and get connections back and forth between any laptop and the phone. But I cannot get any connection to the internet. The laptops simply cannot reach the gateway.
I've tried wiping and reinstalling the ROM clean, but that also made no difference. I can flash back to ICS if needed but I think I had teathering working on an old version of RootBox.
I don't think it's the ROM doing it however as I tried other ROMs like XTreme ROM and a Cyanogen Mod ROM and they also didn't work with tethering.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or find the cause of the issue?
**It appears that is is being impacted by the ROM. When I clean install Cyanogenmod 9 on my phone, tethering works. But when I go back to RootBox (CM10 based rom), it stops working. I'll repost over there.
Hi,
We have 2 Vibrant phones. 1 is on Paranoid Android 2.54 (via stock eclair, ICS Passion, Slim Bean 2.9 & 3.0) and works perfectly.
The second one was on ICS Passion for a long time and I have finally got around to (trying LOL) to update it.
Here is where the weirdness begins - Flashed PA 2.54 no problems, flashed and booted up, but no wi-fi, well no wi-fi icon, and it can find a couple of wi-fi networks belonging to my neighbours, but won't find my network, 2 rooms away. The network is obviously all good, I am sending this from my laptop through said network.
Obviously I need an internet connection to get through the phone setup, so I power down, throw the SIM back in and boot up only to find no cell data either.
Skip the google account setup and get to the home screen to check things further and I find:
Calls in/out work, and most things are running, but wi-fi won't co-operate, and nothing in the APN list? Baseband and IMEI all look normal, too.
Try to flash Slim Bean 2.9 as I put the zip on the phone at the same time as a fallback and I get EXACTLY the same thing...
Anyone able to shed any light on what would cause this? Anything else worth trying? I'd like to avoid Odin as it honestly scares me reading all the problems people on here have with it...
At this point I've tried flashing both ROMs a few times with exactly the same results, I also can't go back to the ICS nandroid as the partition setup has changed and the restore doesn't work...
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
Cheers...
I ended up flashing a 4.2 ROM (slim 4.2 beta 1) and it made the problem go away, I'm guessing something in the 4.1 base was broken and not getting overwritten on new installs?
ROM seems pretty sorted for a beta, few minor things not working, but hopefully it gives us a clean upgrade path...
Thanks.
I had the same issue with Slim 4.2 Beta 2. If anyone has a solution other than flashing the modem, please post.
Weird. The phone I was having this problem with now has that ROM on it and is working 100%.
I have a suspicion that flashing a ROM that uses a different kernel is what fixed it for us. I guess it just overwrites/replaces more stuff?
Maybe try hellybean 4.2 and see if it makes a difference, and if it does flash back to slim 4.2 and see if the problem comes back?
I have installed slim and other ROMs but not had this issue. Currently on jellybam

The weird part is that every other Slim Bean has worked great. I'll keep my fingers crossed for beta 3.

This is a ROM problem (I have this problem too) so don't worry about your device. I'd recommend switching to ParanoidAndroid (where WiFi works) and connecting to your network, then flashing back to CM11. If you care about data then make a Nandroid backup and after reinstalling CM do advanced restore and just restore data.
Step-by-step:
1. Download PA 4.4.2 (in the Original Android Development forums for this device)
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Full backup
4. Wipe, and install PA as per the instructions on the original post in the PA thread
5. Boot into PA, set up, connect to WiFi
6. Boot into recovery
7. Install CM11 but don't wipe. This is a little risky but mostly you shouldn't have a problem, since you haven't done anything on PA . 99% of the time you can restore to a backup if anything goes wrong.
8. (Optional) In the recovery choose advanced restore and restore data ONLY. this will restore your original apps and shouldn't cause any problems since the apps are originally from the same CM11 environment.
Hope I helped.
I having wifi problem with cm11 and PA too. I've flashed many radio file but it didnt work. i can connect to wifi after flashed radio but it stop download after a while, althought it still connect to wifi

If this is your problem, and flashing a radio works for a while, then try more radios. There are a few lists of hybrid radios in the general area for the e970. Though, I doubt this is a radio problem as when the stock ROM is flashed WiFi works with pretty much any radio, so I find it somewhat weird that using a new radio fixes the issue for you.

I need more details. What do you mean by cannot connect? What happens? Please post a logcat of trying to connect.

Same is happening with me(CM11 M4)
when i turn on the wifi it scans n shows all the available networks.
when i select mine to connect, as usual it asks password.
after entering password; all that happens is it shows "saved" in wifi list.
nothing else happens.
i have tried connecting all types of wifi networks.
Also on the same line, i cant start the Wifi hotspot as well
after clicking on Portable hotspot it keeps on showing "Turning hotspot on..." for infinity.
I was also having wifi issues. For me, it was because my phone still had the ICS radios. Once I flashed the JB radios everything started working great. maybe that is your issue?
I have had nothing but pain and suffering since deciding to install CM 10.2 last night. I installed the latest stable version of CM 10.2.2 as well as the google apps pack and after several wipes (system, cache, data), it finally worked. The issue that I am not having is that it wont connect to the Verizon network.
I think the issue may be that in Mobile Network Settings>CDMA Subscription it is set to NV, and won't let me switch to RUIM/SIM. Another clue is that in the About Phone section, Baseband version is UNKNOWN. Any ideas?
EDIT: Ok, I updated to the latest CM version via the CM update process on the phone. looks like i am now on CM11 and i have network connectivity, though it is 1 bar of 3G. And now the google play store keeps throwing errors so i have to uninstall it.
I thought CM was a polished ROM that I could just install and go. I am now considering going with something else since I still cant get it working right.

You definitely want to be using CM 11! 10.2 is ancient at this point.
As for your problems. First, Sense based ROMs apparently show more bars for the same signal strength. To know if it is actually worse, you need to compare the numeric (db) signal strength. Second, did you also flash a kk gapps package?
I would recommend downloading the latest gapps-kk-* from http://goo.im/gapps and then in recovery do:
* factory reset
* format /system
* install cm 11 version of your choice (latest nightly or M8)
* install gapps
And see if that makes your life a little better.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. The reason i went with 10.2 is it was the latest "stable" version on CM's website. I wasn't sure what "snapshot" meant so i didnt do any of those. Then i eventually did download and flash the kk gapps but was still having issues.
I am following your steps above to start fresh again, though I was still having issue with the radio before though, so we will see if this helps.

I do have data if i monkey around with the Preferred Network Type setting, but regardless, when i try to make a phone call, it says there is no mobile network. does anyone have the recommended settings for verizon?
