[Q] Flashing 7.8 the good and the bad? - Nokia Lumia 800

I'm considering flashing 7.8 with nokia care suite. Being the first time I do this, I wanna know a few things
1)Is is possible to restore if something goes wrong without losing all the data?
2) What kind of nasty things are there, waiting for me on 7.8? Crashes, bugs, etc etc?

Hi,
Firmware downgrade is supported on LUMIA phones.
And data will be lost - of course!
BR

It's all fine except for the volume reduction. If you use your phone to listen to music or podcasts, be warned that the new maximum volume is about the equivalent of the old 15 / 30.

I Don't wanna loose my SMS and savegames.
So I consider making a backup of my Lumia 800 with the help of this app and upgrade with Navifirm and Nokia Care Suite to 7.8. Is it possible to restore the backup with zune for getting the SMS and savegames back or wouldn't it work?

The volume on my lumia didn't become lower, I got once a message that listening loud music might be dangerous for my hearing and that's all!

Thing is, I updated it then went back to 7.5
The Bluetooth file share app wasn't available for download. Any cluse as to why this may happen?

Yeah, I am facing the same problems with BT Transfer and Ringtone maker. It looks like there is some region restriction. Do you know which are the working regions?

I'm still wondering how some people can't notice any difference. Well, good for you... I guess. Because for me it's just horrible. >.<

Download the APAC1 ROM. They are meant for India. Both the apps are working fine on my phone.

that is good . nice .

[Q] Strange volume issue on 710

Bought a new Lumia 710 last week (amazingly great price for a very decent phone!) and I've just realized today that my volume only increases in steps of 4 (on the WP 0-30 scale), ie. 0,1,2,3 settings have the same volume, then 4,5,6,7 are the same (a lot louder), then 8,9,10,11 and it's like that all the way up to 30.
It happens when playing music or podcasts, with headphones or on the loudspeaker.
Pretty annoying if you're listening to music - sometimes impossible to get the best volume level
Anyone else had similar issues?
You already installed the updates from Zune?
Yep, installed all the updates!
Funny enough this only happens when playing stuff using the built-in zune app, it works fine when playing youtube videos.
I have the same problem! Is this a software problem or only my phone have it? It happend on every rom!
Yes it is a software problem. It is described in threads here in the lumia forum. ( Listening to music with earplugs and a volume at 14 or below brings the volume to max when having an incomming call for example )
it is solved with the latest (tango) and nokia specific updates, or at least me and my friend have no sound bugs anymore
*cheers* :good:

Unfortunately, this didin't work for me. Installed official Tango update for central Europe with no changes.
I am too experiencing the same issue on my lumia 710. There is only 8 levels of volume in zune player/any zune based audio player.
Wondering if anyone has a fix for this as it is very annoying. Sometimes I cannot get the perfect volume for my situation. Sometimes either too loud or too soft.
I wonder why almost no one else notices this issue as its a huge one in my opinion. First thing I noticed when I received my lumia 710 and put some music on it. I know its happening to all if not most 710's because I have gone through 2 already and they all have the same issue.
On tango rom btw.

[Q] Changing Sounds of MIDI Instruments

I recently got back into Sim City 2000 and as a result, found the MIDIs from it. When I went to play them on my android phone, I basically got a large amount of noise any time a drum hit. Go ahead and try the midi below on your android device.
10018.MID
Basically unbearable. So my question is, is there a way to change the way the sounds are mapped/sound to sound more like Microsoft's MIDI Mapper? Also what could this issue be caused by? I'd love to get MIDIs sounding like normal!
Thanks for any help in advanced.

Because I'd rather try and fix the problem instead of finding a work around.

Problem with music listening

I`ve a problem with listening to music on my L9. I use Poweramp player. When I set the volume full to show the information about a fact that is not healthy blah blah blah ... and after a few minutes of listening to disconnect the headphones. Plug it in again, I set the volume almost full, and again the same problem. Headphones work fine. In winamp I do not have this problem. How do I fix this?

I could not decipher what your problem is from the description. What problem are you having?
When I listen to music, the phone itself "sticking out" headphones. Lose the headphones icon system tray. wrote it

Ahh, I am guessing English is not your primary language. This may be bad headphones, bad application, or a bad phone. Try another pair of headphones and try the youtube app.

No, it`s not. I tried on other headphones and it is still the same. At maximum volume phone stops see headphones-I do not know how to precisely call it. Just disconnects. On the polish android forum I've seen that not only I have a problem with that, however, no one can find a solution.

I have a P769BK. Maybe someone with your model can help you. You could also try a different firmware.
AW: Problem with music listening
Headphones should work, also the crappy Headset coming with the phone.
I encountered similar problems with a headset and a multimedia headphone adapter for Symbian phones.

First thing first.....How is built-in LG Music is doing? Is it working fine with speakers and headphones, etc?
Maybe he's talking about the volume limiter? Whenever you plug in something to the headphone jack, it pops up a notice about restricting volume and/or listening to volume at high levels can cause injury. I know that when plugging the L9 into something as a line-out, I have to crank the volume to max AND crank the volume of whatever speaker/device it's attached to.
For comparison, running the same app and music via a bluetooth media device the volume is equal to that of my iPhone. AKA: it sounds "normal." So it's using some sort of volume limiter on the 3.5mm out as far as I can tell, and I haven't been able to find a way around it. Though I haven't been looking too hard.
There´s this auto-volume-down mechanism, which allows to re-up the volume to max afterwards. But also the phone (P760) seems to follow the EU regulation, which is obligatory for toys only. Volume set to max is still not loud enough for me, as with my Nokia phones. But with Poweramp and Music Folder Player you can get a bit of extra juice, which is sufficient to me. For rooted devices there´s an app to directly control the Linux ALSA sound interface, but I won´t need that.

[Q] Speaker Volume after Lollipop update

I just updated to lollipop today and one of the things that hit me the most was the volume output of the speakers. prior to lollipop, the volume is really loud (except for notifications). but now, the volume output of the speaker is really low. It almost starts at halfway up. and halfway down you can barely hear anything. Am I the only one facing this problem or is it a general firmware bug?
another question, If i choose to factory reset, will I be able to automatically restore everything after resetting the phone? I dont want to lose my contacts, music arts and all.. thanks!
i also noticed this after updating to lollipop. i hope someone can answer this question.

[REQUEST] Surround sound

It'd be awesome to enable the earpiece as some other devices have for media sound, that would help a lot in noisy situations, especially that the speaker is on the back.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.omegacentauri.Earpiece tested on Kate, works great... Although if you meant you'd like to use your earpiece and loudspeaker at the same time, that's not probably possible, but even if it were, it would have made hardly any difference.

Haha xD now I see it is written there... So I just tried installing it under my current rom (latest official CM13) and it still works just fine. Have you tried installing it? I have Kate. The first time I used this one was under stock stable (miui_HMNote3ProtwGlobal_V8.1.3.0.MHRMIDI_14698da799_6.0.zip).
The volume is controlled via media volume, not phone volume. So you press a volume button and then have to manually adjust media volume by expanding the volume panel.

Im using the latest lineage, im not going to change between roms just for a potential feature and not necessarily a gimmick, i still question your use of application considering it still was marshmallow what you had used

What do you mean you question it? Like I have any reason to lie about it? I can make you a video if you want. ATM I have ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20161113-kenzo, the app also works.
