Hi guys,
I'm a NottachTrix 1.3.1 (2.3.6) user, I realy like this rom and everything works fine, but when I try to login to Youtube it asks me to download Google Play services and takes me to the app on the Play Store. But after downloading it fails to install the application and the following error appears: "Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID."
I already uninstalled every application I downloaded just before the error appears the first time, I have the latest version of Google Play (3.10.10).
What can I do to solve the problem and install Google Play services (also just login to youtube will also do the job )?
Thanks
Rob
Try wiping the cache for google play services (if installed) and any other google app.

Thanks thesummoner101, I've already tried with wipes but didn't worked.
Individually through android or recovery or both?

On the phone, in settings -> applications -> ...
Try clearing cache in recovery. If that doesn't work, try flashing gapps again or formatting /system partition.

Have tried the solutions here and doesn't seem to work. Running Nottachtrix with Mon's sv latest kernel. I also flashed the rom all over again and restore apps from backup and still doesn't work.

My "solution" was to downgrade Youtube application to an older version. It works fine and now I can follow my channels. Do someone knows what's the latest version of Youtube that gives no problem with shared user ID?
Grey.Mouser has just released nottachtrix v1.7.0. I'm downloading now. I'll report back weather the problem is fixed in the new version.

Even with nottachtrix 1.70 nothing has changed for me ...
Updating gapps was next on my list for Nottachtrix. Since I have no issue with youtube, I'll need testers. I can send the three of you a PM with a beta if your willing to help out. Just PM me with confirmation if your willing.

Nottachtrix 1.8.0 comes with a version of youtube that works fine. Update on google play breaks it. Says something about error and won't allow login. Uninstall updates for youtube via "manage applications" in settings fixes it again. There is no googleplayservices.apk on the ROM or pushed by google play. Thanks Grey.mouser for your good work!!!

The reason why this is that each app has its on user ID for android to identify it with. If 2 apps have the same user ID, then android cannot identify both of them and thinks that it is the same app.
The problem we have is BLUR. Blur has many apps built in already, and one of these is already taking up the user ID for Google play services. this means until we take out the blur app with the same user ID, play services will not install as it's ID is taken by the blur app.
However, there is another problem. All blur roms need that specific blur app that takes play services' user ID. this means that if you are going to use blur, you cannot use play services unless you take out the blur app. Taking out the blur app, however, means that the blur rom will not function.
So, we are with the dilemma that either you do not use the Blur rom, or you use an older version of youtube, which has a different user ID.
Hope this clears things up.
what? I think u are wrong. I have a 2.3.4 Blur stock ROM. I have all blur stock apps installed and still installed play services + YouTube app update. That only means that a app blocks playservices in the custom ROMs.

Whoops never saw this thread, I'vee been posting about this in the two nottachtrix threads. Here's what I know:
I've been investigating the googleplayservices/youtube problem, and posting on the old thread, but I guess I'll move to here. Here's what I know, googleplayservices (I'll call it PS) does more than just youtube, it enables a better version of maps, +1 buttons, and going forward is probably going to be like .NET for android. So just using older youtube is not a solution going forward. The problem is because Nottach resigned the entire ROM including the google apps. In order for applications to use a shared uid they must have the same signatures. I've had very little success fixing this without doing a full data/cache wipe. What definately worked for me yesterday, was replacing all apps that originally had google's signature with the originals from a deodexed fruitcake and wiping. What this means is that if you do this after installing the ROM you should have no problems. And replacing these in the ROM installer will also probably work. Now this is the only thing I've tried with the wipe, it maybe be simpler, but here's what didn't work/what I know. The only apks that share the UID (according to packages.xml) are NetworkLocation.apk GoogleServicesFramework.apk GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk. Without a wipe, I replaced these but still had the shared user problem. I resigned all 4 including the PS apk. PS installed but didn't work saying it was an error. I think there's a signature check but somehow gapps on other rom's don't have this problem so I dunno. Here is a list of all apps on stock that had the same signature: NetworkLocation.apk GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk SetupWizard.apk vending.apk GoogleServicesFramework.apk GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk BooksPhone.apk MarketUpdater.apk GooglePartnerSetup.apk GoogleFeedback.apk Talk2.apk GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk Gmail.apk. Like I said replacing these with a wipe did the trick.
I believe I solved this in v2.0.0, try it and lmk

As I understand it, shared user ID is a valid concept, I think it lets 2 applications share data between the VM's.
if u check file parameters.xml u can see which apps have shared user ID specified.
current problem many people r having is the compatabilty of the new google play services with the google framework, both specified to share the same ID but have incompatable settings, presumably one app wants to do something the other doesn't
I have installed play services

I mainly plan to use my NT as a reader, but I am interested in adding Kindle / Amazon App Store / Android Marketplace just to have the access. I've been successful except for 1 thing.
I'm not interested in a special launcher as 90% of my activity is going to be straight from the NT home page. What I'm wanting to do is put shortcuts to the third party apps on the stock NT home page. Before you say it, YES I've read the FAQ.
The FAQ directs me to get "Nook Color App Manager" from the Android Marketplace. 2 questions:
1 - Android market won't let me D/L anything. I login fine with my Google account info, but it tells me there are no Android phones associated with my login and refuses the download. I can see the app on the screen, but can't get it. How do I get around that since I don't have an Android phone??
2 - I've read that with the newer versions, the app manager isn't going to allow me to put shortcuts on my home screen anyway. Can someone confirm or deny if this functionality still works? I'm on rooted 1.4.0 by the way.
Thanks all!

Try clearing the data and cache for the market in app management. That should get it to show up.

Not sure I understand what you're htelling me. Clearing the cache should get WHAT to show up?? Market won't let me download it. Tells me there is no phone associated with my google account.

I believe clearing data & cache in the Market app will force your NT to re-associate with Android Market.
I believe that is one of your aims.
It didnt work. I'm logged into the Android market through the web browser and my gmail account. Is that right, or is there a standalone app for the NT? When i click the web d/l link on the app I want, a popup comes that says something to the effect of "there is no Android phone associated with this account. Please sign in with another account."
Does that make sense?

It would assist others in helping you if you would differentiate between using the NT or your PC. (Both platforms have browsers and can access a Google account.)
There is a stand alone app for your device "Android Market". I believe it comes in the gApps package when using Indirect's root method.

Depends on if you are using the "Market" app or a web browser.
OK. I think I got it now. I don't like having alot of extra "stuff" on my NT, so I only used the root script to do the root and declined everything else. i went back and let the Gapps install, and it seems to be working now. Sorry for not be clearer in my original question, but all is well now.
Thanks again!
@Vol4Ever
Glad you got it working!
Please help me on this.....
So here the problem : As you are aware many times this problem seems to "popup" from Google Servers I mean "my apps" tab simply doesn' show your apps and gives just a white page with "Apps" and Games buttons telling you that "here will appear account applications" or something like that.
- freezing and wiping all Market and Google framework related apps with totally unlinking user apps from the market simply give you 2 seconds of happiness listing all your installed apps but after few moments the problem is there again.
- data format, fresh reinstalling OMEGA rom or other 2.3.6 rom seems to give the same result : signing up with my account (without any apps installed) gives the list of applications but installing just one and the problem face off.
- trying to reinstall my old backup of stock (not deodexed) 2.3.4 roms seems to give the list back and stay there.
So basically my stock original rom works (2.3.4) the other deodexed 2.3.6 seems to have this problem with my account.
Another thing I have seen is that if I unlink all my apps from my account seems to not work (also wiping data of market app) and if it does (resetting my account e signing back) after a while the list from "uninstalled" became "installed" so it seems that google automatically get the installed apps from my phone and link them.
No Idea.
Hope it will fix itself as other user reported time ago.
Alex

Might sound silly but if you use multiple Google accounts with your device make sure that you select your default one through the market.
I was going mad for awhile myself until I spotted this so hopefully it is nothing more.

great! Thanks
It all of a sudden started showing up on my phone in downloaded apps (where I first saw it). I saw it on my wife's Photon (Sprint) yesterday. Kept on deleting it but it kept coming back but eventually it stayed gone. Now it's on my phone (Razr Maxx)? Does anybody know what this crap is? Why is it on my phone? The icon looks like a puzzle piece with the Jelly Bean colors on it.
Maybe something that checks for app updates.
Probably harmless.

Its something related to Google Play store, Android market Most probably..
Alright googled it says,
Its a platform developed by the Google Play store in android apps.
Its kind of .apk file which is a part of your system's image.. this file helps with the updates..

Read this PATIENTLY, it should clear all your doubts..
Google Play services is a platform delivered by the Google Play Store that offers integration with Google products, such as Google+, in Android apps. The Google Play services platform consists of a services component that runs on the device and a thin client library that you package with your app.
The Google Play services component is delivered as an APK through the Google Play Store, so updates to Google Play services are not dependent on carrier or OEM system image updates. Newer devices will also have Google Play services as part of the device's system image, but updates are still pushed to these newer devices through the Google Play Store. In general, devices running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or later that have the Google Play Store receive updates within a few days. This allows you to leverage the newest APIs for Google products and reach most of the devices in the Android ecosystem. Devices older than Android 2.2 or devices without the Google Play Store app are not supported.
The Google Play services component contains much of the logic to communicate with the specific Google product that you want to interact with. An easy-to-use authentication flow is also provided to gain access to supported Google products, which provides consistency for both the developer and user. From the developer's point of view, requesting credentials is mostly taken care of by the services component through calls to the client library. From the user's point of view, authorization is granted with a few simple clicks.
The client library contains the interfaces to call into the services component. It also contains APIs that allow you to resolve any issues at runtime such as a missing, disabled, or out-of-date Google Play services APK.
Still have doubts??
Thanks to everybody that posted info about this. It's good to know that everybody else is getting it and it's not harmful.
I disabled it when it auto installed and the market stopped working completely. I disallowed everything it wanted to access except wifi and the market worked again. So it doesn't need all those permission to work at least.

Dont settle down yet Brother.
The Google Play Services got installed in my phone yesterday. I uninstalled it and it came back again. I uninstalled it again. Now the google play does not install any apps in my phone, it just gives the waiting bar.
All was working well without Google Play Services too, which means this Google anal excreta isnt necessary at all., I think they are pushing this in our phone, sure there is something hidden purpose in their anal mind.
The Start Up manager also shows it in startup, which was not there before.
All is all when you run the Google Play Services icon, it gives some three options, one is regarding ads management or something... all their feces are showing up.
How to deal with this problem?

I am rooted and use LBE Privacy Guard. Using it allows turning off anything for any app., Google Play Services is used for setting up and giving permissions to other installed apps. Although annoying having Google install apps without asking, it's really just part of Google Play Store. Part of the Google Play conversion from the Android Market.
But I still hate apps spying on me so LBE is the first app I install after a clean wipe.

You know what? I froze the Google Play Services. And today installed the Youtube update. When I run it, it says "you cannot use this app without Google Play Services. And when I uninstalled the update, the previous version of the youtube works just fine like before. This is a serious privacy issue. They are definitely spying on us in deep darker levels.
Ok, so if you are recommending the LBE Privacy Guard, are you the developer? please give us the stable version.
If google is acting like crap(as I mentioned above) when I freeze the app, Wont it do the same if I use your LBE and tamper its activities?
I'd just leave it, it's most likely harmless.

It is harmless, officially. But, their act to make it mandatory in illegal ways, tells us that there is something more ugly going on in the background.

I have faced a similar problem long back.. I have done the below steps to recover..
Uninstall updates for Playstore
Clear data for Downlaod manager
Keep the phone connected to internet and reboot
after reboot wait for couple of minutes so that Playstore update will be installed properly.. Then try updating your apps..
I've tried everything
I have tried evey solution that I could possible find to try and stop getting error 927. It's definitly linked to my google account/gmail. When I create a new gmail, everything works fine. Problem is all of my purchased apps are attached to gmail with 927 error. Someone please help. I'm desperate!!!! I have Verizon Galaxy S4. Doesn't matter what I wipe, if I'm rooted or not, or if I try using my account on my wife's S4... All give me error 927!!!

What version of the play store are you running? Also, do you have the background restricted for the play store?
Try the newest Play Store if yours is not up to date. I remember the issue in my S4 and newest version solved it after wiping data and install update.

Yes its the same account I've had going all the way back to the first Android phone. It has gotten better. I ODIn'ed back from a 4.4.2 ROM to a custom 4.3 ROM and my market works most of the time. When it starts actign up I usually have to clear data/wipe caches, restart and wait a bit for it to resync my account. Kind of a pain, but working most of the time is better than none of the time.

How are the Play store on the web working for you when signed in with the account you are having issues with. For me I have trouble loading in anything @all. Especially the top list, and my purchases.
I believe there are issues with older accounts that did not get updated/patched with new settings after ICS update, or the 3.0+ update of their store when it became Play Store and not Android market. When I use my other account all is ok, but there I have no purchased apps.
If you want you can find the 2.3.6 version of Market and replace the Play store and you will find that all issues are gone. Now I use Legazy Play store witch can be used together with normal play. Just need to push it to system/apps on 4.3 or system/priv-apps on 4.4.
Use all this advise at own risk.

Anyone have any luck with this/ age of Gmail accounts?
I just recently started having this issue on a stock GS4A on at&t. Maybe a week ago could not get updates and wrote it off as a busy server then realized this weekend I could not get anything new.
I tried every fix I could find on the forums and even a fix that the 2nd tier Google tech suggested (no different from the forum fixes other than including turning the automatic date/time on and off). Every method was a band-aid at best: one or two apps can come through before I get the 927 error or the DF-BPA-30 error. At least the error codes are consistent...
I honestly think this is related to the age of my account. I have had a Gmail account since 2007 or so when I believe it was still in beta. I am surmising that older accounts are on an older server or something that is having issues. I made two dummy accounts and could download anything I wanted, so there is nothing wrong with my handset or connections. The temporary work-around I am using is adding a secondary gmail account and adding any apps through it, while still using primary for mail, contacts, and calendar. I am not a heavy user, so it works, but I should not have to patch it together like this!
So- anyone who is getting this error; how long have you been a Google user? Anyone else tried "old vs new" for a cause of the error?
When I replied to the 2nd tier tech I told him his method did not work, but asked to look into the account itself. I'll update if I have anything to say.

Ask to get your case transferred to apps division. There I got real help. They are really good. And have helped me a lot.
There are two possible methods to solve error 927 on android:
Method 1:
Go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”
Now Force Stop>>Clear Data>>Clear Cache
Now again try downloading or updating the app
If the above didn’t work, go to settings>>”All”>>Select “Google Play Store”>>Uninstall Updates
Again, from “All”>> Select “Download Manager”>>Clear Data and Cache
Rerun Google Play Store and install/update your app or game
Method 2:
Go to system settings>> Accounts>>Google>>remove your Gmail account
Now from settings>>Apps>>All> Force stop, Clear data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager (like in method 1)
Now again go to settings>> Accounts>>Google>>Add your gmail account
Restart your android and then accept all the Google terms and setup Google settings
Rerun Google Play Store and update or install your app.

I'm getting gapps FC on every reboot whenever I install a google keyboard (including L). Can't tell if it's actually affecting anything yet, but don't like the FC on reboot.

Are you running Xposed..., if you are disable it and reboot a couple times, could be from that. Just happens sometimes. If you're getting it that one time and nothing bad is actually happening don't worry.
Thanks. No, not running xposed. I may not worry about it if it's not affecting anything. Just see it on reboots.

That worked with clearing out the cache. Thanks.
Has anyone been able to get any other Android Lollipop apk files working? I cannot get gmail, google music, calendar, fitness, etc. to work on a rooted G3.
gmail, music, and others get the error message "application not installed because an app with the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed"
calendar just won't install at all, giving the error "not installed"
fitness installs but upon opening requires an update through the play store, but the play store is unable to find the app
I am running the latest version of google play services (6.1.83), on jasmine ROM with xposed installed and the "show all apps in play store" 240 dpi mod enabled as well as the G3 tweaksbox.
I could try going into the system/app folder and removing the gmail and music apks so I can update them, but I haven't tried it yet. mostly I'm concerned about the fitness app.
EDIT: I also tried the keyboard, and that installed okay, but any time I wanted to type any text the cursor would show up but no keyboard would show.
Thanks!

You could try removing the stock ones with TiBu then wiping cache and dalvic then try to install again.
If you back them up first using TiBu you'll be fine in case that doesn't pan out.

Pretty sure u will have to remove stock gmail...etc...replace with new apks...set permissions. That's what I've read so far. U can do this with root explorer or whatever root file browser u prefer.

I tried this. Google music and lollipop keyboard are working. Fitness.apk gives the same error as before, Gmail quits on boot (repeatedly) and if renamed to Gmail2.apk, downloads an "update" from the play store that reverts it back to the 4.4 version (previously the farthest I could get was "welcome to the new gmail" and you can watch a video about the changes, but once you say "Ok, got it", it force closes. Clearing the gmail data prevents the force closing at boot, but will not allow the app to get past the "ok, got it" screen.

Do u happen to have the newest version of play store installed? Just checking.

I think so - I am using play store 5.0.32, play services 6.1.83. both install just fine on 4.4.2. I also tried everything with the previous 4.9.X versions of both, but that wasn't very productive.
I tried removing the gmail apk and all instances of com.google.android.gm, which I could find in /system/app, /data/app, and /data/data, then installing the gmail 5.0 apk or placing it in /system/app and setting permissions to rw-r--r--. Both of these result in a "disabled" gmail, which can be "enabled" in the play store. Enabling results in multiple force closes and the app cannot be opened. I wiped the app data and tried again to no avail. I then resorted to deleting gmail 5.0 through TiBu, and then tried installing directly from the play store. This results in a "version not supported" error during download, and the installation can not be accomplished. At this point I tried reverting to gmail 4.9, but it can't be installed, giving the "application not installed" error after going through the installation process.
Fitness.apk still opens and requires an update through the play store which cannot be found.
I wiped everything and reinstalled JasmineROM this morning to get a working gmail. I will update gms and play store to 5.0 versions soon.
The keyboard Force closes in landscape.

Yea the messenger seems to not be working for those on Stock ROMs, maybe someone has figured out how to use on stock if it's possible but I'm not sure myself, as I've said before I'm not on stock so it's working fine for me.
Hopefully once bump comes out and AOSP ROMs are available for the masses, messenger can then be enjoyed by more people.
