Stock Browser: Quick Controls Not Working? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Ever since the update to Jelly Bean, my quick controls don't work. I could have to tap the side of the screen several times before the thing menu opens up & sometimes it just doesn't at all. I've had to turn them off altogether, but I got really used to using them.
Anyone else experiencing this or find a workaround or maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Sense ROM? Also, you went to browser settings and labs and enabled them?

Wave Launcher / Anyone Using It Or?..

Could someone please download the app from the market, setup and let me know if you any text freezing while typing, scrolling issues while on the Internet or XDA App? It was messing with my phone but would like to know if others have issues too. (BTW... I really like the App)
Thanks

Wave Launcher is fully customizable. You can change the size, location and even thickness of the gesture-area. To change it, look for "Gesture-area presets" in the Settings screen.
The setting the works for most people and is my personal favorite is "Bottom Left - 20%". It will never interfere with the keyboard or scrolling this way.
Note that you can also have Wave Launcher automatically disable in Landscape mode which is often used for typing, games, etc.
The app is very powerful and highly customizable, please go through all the settings to make sure you make the most out of it.
Any reports guy's?

Used it and it interefered with a lot of things going on on the bottom of the phone such as opening the app drawer and typing. Just my experience others may vary.

As Mike said above.
I also tried it for a bit, and even changed the popup swipe location but it is just OK. I think bottom corner 20% was the one that worked best for me, but even then I would accidentally press the Home button. Sides are for screen sliding already, and top is for notifications, so there is not much free room to swipe around. Its a fine launcher, but I did not find it useful enough to keep.
I thought it would let me make a gesture to swipe it onto the screen, not follow my finger around everywhere, to where I cant even get rid of it without the awkward swipe back into the same corner of the screen.
What it should have is a setting on how far to follow you across the screen, so if I swipe up from bottom corner, it appears, then it follows me around but only until I get to say 50% of the screen height, then it goes away.
That way, if it appears accidentally, I dont have to swipe is back down, but simply continue the swipe up motion until it dissapears.
I tried it but didn't care for it. Holding the Home screen button essentially does the same thing. Aloso, If you're running stock then you've got your most recent apps in the notification drop down. Unless you are constantly switching between apps, it's pretty pointless.
I use mine for a quickdial and store a few contacts there. so far it hasn't interfered too much
Thanks for your feedback guys!

Full screen while watching movies

Hi
Is there a way to get FULL SCREEN while watching movies. Whenever i launch movies on my tab - I still have the bottom line with TouchWiz and clock and more.. I haven't found a tweak that will let me hide that.. Would be awsome that it hides after few seconds while watching something fullscreen ?
Any fix for that? - I looked in the forum for similar questions on this issue, but didn't see it - Thats why i post it .. Sorry if it is a duplicate of another question somewhere here in the forum.. ;-)
Just wondering.. Am i the only one having this issue?

Therr are a couple of posts.
Basically, since there are no hardware buttons, android forces the taskbar to always be shown to allow access to the buttons. There are no hacks for this yet as it will also require the media player to take no taskbar into account and offer a way out of the app.
Okay.. Well i was hoping there was somekind of autohide when fullscreen, and menu could be tricked by a touch.. Hopefully we will see that..

could be tricky to dev this, what you would probably need to do is have an app you run before opening a movie that hides the bar but also places a toggle to show it again on the power button. However if you remapped the power button and the tab froze you could be stuck. Probably best just to live with it
Yeah.. I saw a feature like that on the Ipad, so if it works on Ipad, it should for sure work on Android aswell..

What he said and unfortunately we will not see an auto hide anytime soon.

[Q] How to stop haptic feedback

So I was able to do it in the stock ICS build, but for some reason can't get it to work on JB. Specially the vibration that occurs when a notification happens. I friggin hate it.
Anyone know how to disable it? I've scoured every menu item.
2d
The vibrate option is usually app specific. Open the app with the notifications you want to stop vibrating, hit menu, and look in those settings.

[Q] Unknown Launcher that I can't get rid of

This past weekend my SGSII starting showing some new unknown launcher that was not allowing me to get to Go Launcher EX. I have Go Launcher set as the default however whatever this is will just randomly takeover. I can reboot and may then see Go Launcher, but this other thing eventually comes back. I'm running 4.1.2 and I've tried completely wiping the device and installing a new different ROM and manually installing each app from the play store and this thing keeps coming back. I can't figure out where it's coming from or what it is. I haven't installed any new apps.
When it's active hitting the menu button doesn't get me the phone menu it just gets me a very limited app menu. It only has a single home screen and no button to get to installed apps. I can get to the phone menu from the status pulldown, but I don't see any processes running that could cause this...at least nothing obvious to me. I've uninstalled Go Launcher and tried Nova, but it has the same issue. I attached an image in hopes someone would recognize it. I had to take a picture with a camera because I can't get screen shots to work when this is running.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Seems like a dock mode from what the image shows.

THANK YOU. That seems to be it. I've searched all over and couldn't figure that out. I even did a Google Image search and found nothing. Now I just have to figure out why my phone keeps randomly going into dock mode.
Thanks again
Have you tried a hard reset. It might just be software bug. Don't hard reset if you're not on the stock rom.

Tip: Getting "knock off" effect on any ROM

I don't know how many people actually know this, and if this is common knowledge I do apologize, but I thought I'd share how I did it.
Install Screen Off, launch it once to give it administrative rights. Go to Nova Settings, set up a double tap gesture to launch that app, and you have a pretty well-working "knock off" function.

Very nice. Thank you. Hadn't found a good solution for this using PA.

This is a very good solution if in fact, you are using Nova Launcher. The problem I ran into with this is the effect is really fast. I mean that sounds like a nitpicky gripe, but it bothered me immensely that Nova wasn't quite as smooth as the stock launcher and since the phone is so uber fast, this fix is kinda glitchy looking since the screen off speed seems more than doubled. I'm not sure how to explain what I mean, but it bothered me. There are things that I just preferred about the stock launcher. I know that may seem crazy, but to each his own I guess. I would prefer an AOSP ROM with working Netflix using the stock LG launcher with AOKP UI and custom framework. This is why I haven't changed my ROM at this point. I'm picky.
I know, Nova feels hacky. It's a hard tradeoff more smoothest launched I've tried so far is the stock launcher on my 4.4 n4.
I ran aosp for about two days, it wasn't a very good experience. Especially not if your eyes get sore by rough edges. You should try Rayglobe rom. Will reply when I've found a better solution.

Edit:
The knock-off effect appears identical to the LG animation for me. It just simply starts the standard fade-out animation instantly. It should be the same as tapping the status bar twice, up there is default LG behaviour.
Yeah thats a good solution but i prefer the pie way.I m using pacman rom with pie controls, the wake up knock on working and when i want to close the screen i put a power button to pie controls.more easy no hitting the screen
If you do this does a double tap anywhere trigger the action? I double tap to zoom on webpages, so I'd need it restricted to the status bar.

No need for another app if you have tasker installed. Just do a task for System Lock. Then under nova, select that task.

It should work by default for any rom (as far as I'm aware). Double tap to zoom will still work as Nova is a launcher, not an UI. It's an app. Your browser is an app and if you're in your browser, then the app Nova will not take precedence over that open app.
