[Q] How to stop haptic feedback - AT&T LG Optimus G

So I was able to do it in the stock ICS build, but for some reason can't get it to work on JB. Specially the vibration that occurs when a notification happens. I friggin hate it.
Anyone know how to disable it? I've scoured every menu item.

The vibrate option is usually app specific. Open the app with the notifications you want to stop vibrating, hit menu, and look in those settings.

Request: light up home button

Since there is no led that can be set to flash to garner attention for any reason - new email, etc., is there an application that can be set to light up one of the ' hard' buttons given certain criteria?
If not, does anyone feel like writing one?

Awesome idea. I would give a dev several beers for such an app.
light up buttons
home button light up = missed call/or phone call when screen is sleep, menu button = missed text, back button = missed email! would be very nice and also include options for different flashing patterns!
now where is 2.2 so hopefully we can disable this haptic feedback annoyance?
There already is one....im using it. Called StreakLED. You can find it in Marketplace and in here. Search in XDA development section.
It does not work with missed email, and if i use widgetlocker
I've made an app called StreakLED (its in the development forum) but it only works for SMS messages atm. I will add missed call and email notifications soon but I've broke my USB cable so I can't do much untill I get a new one!

how to group apps and disable camera tone?

-Does anyone know how to group apps? I'm starting to have problems finding an app I need because the screen is already full and there many apps that I rarely use and I wanted to group this apps into a separate folder.
-Another thing I tried was disabling the camera tone but with no luck. Does anyone know how to disable it?
Thanks,

For grouping apps I'm using Nova Prime launcher and you can create different launcher tabs for what ever you like.
I believe the camera tone issue is legally motivated, in some places it is illegal to de-activate the camera sound I believe so I think this is why you can't turn it off from the settings, if you flash a custom ROM there is usually an option to turn it off (with a warning) but on stock ROMS usually not.
Hope that helps,
R.
Which launcher do u use?

If its touchwiz, there os an option to create a folder in the homescreen and drawer, just long click choose add to home screen and select folder, for the drawer clock on the menu button when in drawer mode, it will give u an option ro hidde aps amd also create folders...for the camera sound, root it...

I'm using touchwiz. I found out the option that you can create a folder in the homescreen but I was hoping to group the apps in the menu and not just hide them.
I also rooted my phone yesterday but I couldn't find anything to disable the camera tone. I guess l'm gonna have to install another launcher and see if sorts out.
Anyaway thanks,

I haven't (yet) rooted my phone, but I can take "shutter sound" away. You need to tick your volume rocker to minimize system sounds to silent. Then you can take pictures without shutter tone. Just remember put vol back up after.

Sorry what do you mean whith "volume rocker"? If you are refering to the volume key that didn't work out for me, I even turned off every sound in the settings=>sound but even that didn't work out .

Hmm maybe there really are localisation differences. Vol-key brings camera sounds off atleast in my device.

how to have expanded notifications by default?

having expanded notifications is hit or miss... even when nothing else is there, I'll get the small version. I want the full one of my music, of my scrrenshot especially so i can hit send etc.. i always have to manually expand them.. sometimes they're expanded on their own. there's no rhyme or reason from what I can tell. how can we get them to always be expanded?

behavior
That is a pretty odd behavior. My first week I noticed the extended preview of messages, but now it seems that they are always the sheet version. I wonder if dumping app storage would rejuvenate the experience.
On aosp all you had to do was swipe down on any collapse notification to give the expanded version. On sense it apparently doesn't work that way and I've yet to find a way to get to expanded other than the top most notification.

You can pinch to expand or shrink the notifications. Supposed to be the same motion in 4.1+.
i figured out why it doesn't do it...
because of that stupid WIFI nag! when you do the trick to temp get rid of it (hold it down, hit app info, force close), then every first notification that defaults to the top IS expanded, every time. now i need to root to get rid of that nag!

Stock Browser: Quick Controls Not Working?

Ever since the update to Jelly Bean, my quick controls don't work. I could have to tap the side of the screen several times before the thing menu opens up & sometimes it just doesn't at all. I've had to turn them off altogether, but I got really used to using them.
Anyone else experiencing this or find a workaround or maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Sense ROM? Also, you went to browser settings and labs and enabled them?

[Q] New to Android couple questions (battery/setting)

I finally got my HTC One today after calling T-mobile and ordering over the phone, loving this phone and glad I got rid of my iPhone 4. I am currently charging my One, first charge so far and I have a few questions just to make sure everything is good and perhaps making my life easier.
1. Easier way to force quit an app - I was on GSam Bat and had 93.5% apps using battery, I'm figuring that is too high, at least for me.
2. How to enable 4G/3G - Coming from iOS I saw a enable 3G button, making it easy to toggle it, I've only seen 4G on my notification bar too
3. An app that has a bunch of toggles for wifi/gps/data ect - Something as similar as SBSettings, being able to add on for what I prefer.
And if anyone has other tips for a FNG, I'd greatly appreciate it if you posted it.
hey welcome, for the third question I would recommend Power Toggles or Notification Toggles those are my two favorites. try them out on the play store or try searching for a notification widget.

Got myself power toggles, thanks!
There are stock data and power widgets already in your phone Push and hold a blank area on a homescreen, choose widgets, and they're in there.

Yes they are there, but totally impractical...that's the only play I'd say sense is really lacking functionality, I think notification toggle is the best option... For exactly what op is looking for...

Lacking functionality? Lets see...settings, mobile data on/off, wifi on/off, auto sync, roaming on/off, brightness control, GPS on/off, bluetooth on/off...the only thing missing is flashlight. Not what I would call "lacking functionality".
OP: to force close an app, double tap the home button to bring up all your open apps. Simply swipe the app you want to close, and it will.

I'm using power toggles from the Play store, because it allows one to have the toggles on the notification bar. The built in ones have to be on the desktop screen as widgets, which doesn't help when one is inside an app and needs to toggle something.
Yeah, I ended up getting Power Toggles, I like it more and it works great.

Yep! That's a good reason to use power toggles
