I have a G Tablet, and have used Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 for some time. I thought I would upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2, so I could try some Honeycomb like goodness. Right. Not a good plan.
Thanks Roebeet for NVFlash!
So, I have been trying to reinstall what I had, and I have run up against some troubles. I now have Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 and Gapps 20110307 running on the Gtablet, but I am struggling with the market. At first, I could not get the market to run; all it would do was FC. Thanks to Google-fu, a change in the language to English (United States) got that repaired.
So, the only way I can get stuff installed is to revert back to 2.3.3 market. The new market sees my tablet as Malata Tablet. I have changed build.prop fingerprint, but in the Market on the device, the message I get is "Your device is not compatible with this item". On the web Market, it identifies my tablet as Malata Gtablet. If I downgrade the Market app, I can install Maps and Flash, but when Market upgrades those apps don't show up as apps in My Apps.
So, I need to change more in the build.prop, right? So what the heck do I change? I am not able to mess around for days on end to upgrade to 1.2, I just want to use the tablet for what I was; web, kindle, google reader. I can do that, but I want to fix this weird issue too!
Can anyone help me out? TIA!
What is your ro.product.device = in build.prop?
Try changing it to
ro.product.device=olympus
--
Fixed
Actually, the way I fixed the market issue, was to change the DPI in the build.prop from 161 to 160. Boom, everything works fine.....yes!
G tablet is back baby, I am waiting for cheaper quad core tablets before I even dream about upgrading.....sweeeeeeeet!
Where do I go to change the DPI in the build.prop. Sorry for being such a noob!
I've been told two ways to edit build.prop, one by using ES File Explorer (which is free) and the other by using Root Explorer (which isn't). However, the only way I know to install either is via the Market, which tells me they aren't compatible with my tablet.
I have a chicken-and-egg problem: I can't edit build.prop until I install one of those apps, and I can't install either app without editing build.prop first.
So hopefully there's another way... anyone?

HOKAY. I've missed something somewhere. I've set the DPI to 160 rather than 161, but I still get the "not compatible" message.
... but I never give up when technology tells me no. Off to Google!

Someone else probably will answer, but you can get root explorer by using Amazon Market app which you can download and install and while they aren't as complete as the real "market" they also work and don't cause these kinds of problems. (you will have a better experience if you already have an Amazon account.)

try changing ro.product.device=olympus in build.prop.
Sorry for being so lacking in knowledge on this, but, how do I get to "ro.product.device" to make the change? Where do I find this?
Thank you!

Bluestacks is an emulator of Android in Windows. Why do you want to change the device?
Becouse same games are not compatible with the version that Blueatacks generate of the phone. So the olny way is remove and reinstall it.
How can i do the same, without reinatall bluestacks?

Here says that there are a build.prop file in Blustacks folder.
If it's right, you should change the device by changing the model number.

Hi,
I have made a mistake trying to change a rom for my device (Lenovo s820).
I thought my phone was gone, but step by step I was able to bring it back to life.
Now I have a working rom and I set back the IMEI's, but I still have "no service".
After reading a lot, I understand that I need to recover my "NVRAM" and to do so, I need for somebody to send my a file called "NVRAM.IMG" which applies to my device.
I can't find this file anywhere on the net.
Can somebody please send me?
Thanks in advance

hi dear
lenovo s820 imei
Your phone will fix the problem?
I also have this problem.
[Solved] Solution For Recover your IMEI For Lenovo S820
1) You must Root your Smartphone by Framaroot 1.8.1 (Apk for simple usein smartphone)
2) Install Root Explorer
3) Open Root Explorer and go to dev Folder and check pttycmd1 file
4) If "Pttycmd1" not exist ,copy that from "dev/radio" Folder and paste to "dev" Folder
5) Install Terminal Emulator (like cmd in windows but in Linux andorid)
6) open Terminal Emulator and enter "su" then enter (For super user Authentication)
7) in next line enter this codes
echo 'AT +EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_1"'> /dev/pttycmd1
echo 'AT +EGMR=1,10,"IMEI_2"'> /dev/pttycmd1
IMEI_1 , IMEI_2 : you must enter 15 digits for each (For Valid Number use your old IMEI Code and if u want check that in
"imei-number.com/imei-validation-check"
8) After Each line only Press Enter and nothing more
9) You must Restart Your Phone (not fast booting)
10) After Restart Press *#06# and enjoy your Entered IMEI
11) You can Backup your IMEI ID By Software like MobileUncle (Suitable For Chines Mobile like Lenovo)
12) Good Luck

does nvram.img file needed alongwith secro-sign.img file to retain the lost imei no sr.no mac address and bluetooth settings in meditek 6737m device name moto c plus.
Hi,
I recently rooted this device for purpose of changing MAC address and removing the "POCOPHONEF1-" prefix in device name. I managed to change the MAC but I can't seem to find a solution for other problem. I tried editing build.prop, it didn't work.. I also installed root essentials and edited "Device Hostname" (which shows the exact thing that I want to change) it would then automatically reboot, but when I check back in root essentials, the Device Hostname is reverted to the default. Changing "Device Name" in Settings->About Phone still doesn't remove the prefix. Any suggestions?

Yes, I tried both of them. net.devicename doesn't do anything for me. As for the second one, it only changes the name after the hypen (POCOPHONEF1-devicename) . What I want to get rid of is the POCOPHONEF1 before the hypen.
Hi. Any solution found for this? I also want to do same thing with my Xiaomi phone.
EDIT:
LOL. I forgot I already resolved this in the past. U can use the following apk for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigos.hostnamechanger
Works with my phone, MIUI 11.

Hello, I had the same problem, it's just a matter of granting permissions.
Install Solid Explorer (2.8.6 or higher).
Go Product/HW_OEM/ANE-L21/etc/permissions , copy three files android.hardware.nfc..... to the internal storage . Then go HW_OEM/ANE-TL00/etc/permissions and replace the three nfc files with the copied ones. Restart the phone.

On EMUI 9.1 only. Running EMUI 8 you need add new setting in Secure table :
"high_contrast_text_enabled" "1"
using SetEdit apk.
