JackpotClavin updated a CM9 ROM with HWA. you can check that out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575147
The YouTube app works perfectly on there, and I am able to play videos from the site, however this pulls up the default video player for streaming rather than using a flash plugin. The only downside to this ROM is that it uses software buttons instead of the capacitve ones for some reason.

I'm on Remics UX (Latest) and I have the INT version of the GPlayer 5 so as far as I know I can't use Jackpots ROM as his is for US only. I do know flash but wasn't flash stopped? My friend has a GS3 and he can view embedded YouTube videos but as far as I know flash isn't on Jelly Bean. So I assumed they were different things. Will Jackpot release a HW mod like Super master did for his Bluetooth patch? Thanks for All your responses by the way.

No sound PLEASE HELP

Hi,
I have a problem with the HD videos, movies.
I use Moboplayer and the 720p .mkv video playing is fine but no sounds!
I tried it with mVideoplayer, Rockplayer, Vplayer, BSPlayer. No sounds.
The TP's hardware is powerful to play HD videos so i don't understand. Do i need codec pack?
Btw the normal (not HD) video playing is perfect.
Android 2.3.7 CyanogenMod 7.1.0 Alpha 3.5
Please help!
Maybe try MX video player and see if that works.
Did you change audio tracks when the little audio note symbol pops up? I have to do that every time or I get no sound.

@Grizzy3: I tried MX video player and installed ARM7 codec pack for mx video player, no results
@muyoso: I tried to change the audio track but both don't work.

Sorry I couldn't help. Hm. I use the Xron rom i see you're on cm7 alpha. Maybe try re-flashing that? Or you might want to try out X-Ron.
How to install Xron rom? Just wipe and install the xrom.zip from recovery?
If i try MIUI? Which is the better? Xron or MIUI?

You should probably wipe all data then just flash like any other rom. I would suggest Xron. That's what I have and I personally enjoy their work. You're welcome to check out both threads in the development section to help your decision but I would go with X ron.
I find Dice Player is the best solution, though it isn't free. There's a trial though to see if it works for you.

JB 4.2 apps

Hey Guys,
I found these over in the Galaxy Nexus forum but it works with my PA 2.53 Nov.4 build. Its the Full google apps for 4.2 Jelly Bean including: the Launcher, Gmail, calendar, clock, ringtones, wall papers, camera, gallery, keyboard, and playstore 3.9.17. I found only one issue so far and its that the launcher doesn't show a tab in my settings so i can modify homescreen settings and whatnot. You can still use the original that comes with the ROM though. Its pretty cool so check em out and let me know if you see the same issue i did or any others and try to post what ROM your using and your kernal) if its different than the one that came with the ROM (ex//im using PA 2.53 Nov.4th with the KKX. 12 kernal) so others can help as best as possible.

Its not the video player that is broken its the recorder, it doesnt seem to be supported or something for some reason. I just download camera ICS for video recording and it works fine. The camera and gallery would be worth it to me but along with that you just get an updated version of Gmail and other google apps. It's cool if you're into staying up to date with the newest and greatest.

This one? The one that has the gapps listed in the first post? 4.2 gapps will just cause you problems with the camera, and it's a downgrade from the 4.1 camera.
Some one already posted this. No need for another thread.
A little search will take you very far

AOKP change player?

Does AOKP not support play to? I cant seem to figure out how to change player on it.
On my Galaxy Note 10.1 I can play to XBMC, I touch a button that says change player, then I select XBMC. Is this a Touchwiz feature and not supported on AOKP?
Thanks.

Thanks for such a quick response.
Never? That is such a disappointment t hear. I Love AOKP IMO it is the best ROM. Tech is getting so advanced I figured this option would be baked into Android.
It is pretty awesome to share a pic or video to the HTPC from my phone or tablet. I figure I will have to do more searching around to maybe find a Gallery app that supports it.
Thanks again! :good:

The issue is that feature is not open source. IT is part of Samsungs closed sourced files so that is why the option will not be included. Even with 3rd part gallery apps.

Is there a custom ROM with native video calling feature?

I recently got the stable cm9 release for s2 and I noticed the video calling option is missing. Is this the problem only with cm & aosp based ROMs? Would the Samsung based roms have this feature? I've Googled for it but found nothing specific to this phone. Can anyone help?

I used to use cm9 but I don't remember exactly whether there was native video call, but everything was fine, maybe you have enabled use only 2G settings in the settings.. Duh!! and maybe that's the problem, well all stock based custom roms do support video calling and I'm pretty sure most AOSP and AOKP do support video calling.
Edit : my bad, Only stock based roms does support video calling.

No I've unticked the save battery option. It is definitely on 3g network.
Can you please link me to a stable release I can try this out with? I am referring to the video call option that comes with the phone and contacts apps on stock rom. I read a post here on xda stating that custom roms don't have the patenting license to use native video calling. Can someone verify this?

I don't know my region doesn't have 3G so I can't try it out, but I am definitely sure that statement is wrong, I am using NeatRom and it definitely has video calling option, and I am sure such a basic feature will be in most roms. Maybe Pure Google based OS like cyanogenmod might have some limitations since after all they warned them to take out Google Apps from their Roms, but no Rom builder would ever remove important features from a stock rom, so try stock based custom roms like Omega, NeatRom.. Likewise...
Edit :It seems AOSP can't work with video calling, but stock based roms don't have these limitations.

Thanks I'll try neatrom first and then omega. But I am so happy with this stable cm9 release. Oh well.

If you're missing video calling, you might soon miss h/w decoding like that of stock based roms,
And eventually maybe wifi direct, radio etc.
Wifi Direct is the thing which is holding me with NeatRom. I've got a tab and file sharing, never gets easier and faster than with a wifi direct in a S2. But I will jump around though, too addicted to tweaks and customization.

No.
According to my information, android does not has native video calling support.
All the oem's add it as an optional feature on their devices.
So cm9 wont have native video calling support.
If u want to use video calling, u can use stock based custom roms such as omega v23...

Yes mate, I think he gets that, after all we came to a conclusion and he has decided on flashing NeatRom.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, well, I checked some stock based roms but the latest ones are huge files, especially the one everyone is recommending here, Omega. My 3g plan allows only 2gb download per month, and if I download 650 mb file, that too with its inherent bugs, I'd be doomed.
So I went into the pages trying to search for a stable stock rom based release, and I found this, (sorry, too lazy to search the LINK, google it)
--VK--ICS-XWLPX-V5.4.5-Ripple-Final
And I've been using it for 2 days and not even a single force close or reboot or whatever. No bugs, and this is a first for me for any rom I used. Also, better battery than the stock rom too. And the customizations look awesome as well. Can be used as a daily drive. All for just 300 MB. I'll stop hunting for a while now. Thanks for your help, people.

Have you had a look at Chameleon ROM? I've never personally used it so can't give you an exact run-down. It is stock based, with all AOSP apps apart from FM radio and Camera (& some background apps).
Give it a go & see what you think.

Vine compatable roms

Twitter's video snippet ap, Vine, just launched in the Android market. Unfortunately, so far it's been crashing on the custom roms I've tried it on (Jamie's Revolt and SuperNexus). I was wondering if anyone's had any success with the app on their phones. If so, please share which rom you are running.
Thanks.
The reviews are pretty negative regarding this appp -- two stars.
But lt looks like the developer just fixed crash problems for the S2 using OS 4.1.2 so I'm guessing it may be a while before it works smoothly with 4.2.2.
Don't quote, reply. If you quote, edit.
This is not the app. It is the acual Rom that's the problem. CM based roms have no support to 3rd party apps when it comes to the camera. So snapchat, instagram, vine, etc will not work with 4.2.2 roms. If you want the camera based apps to work, you'll have to go over to 4.1.2. (Blackstar jelly or padawan rom.)

Ahh... interesting. I'll give it a test and report back.
OPGT was 100% correct. The app works great (or at least as intended) with Padawan JB V2. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, the app sucks. It's share features don't work as described either. And it's missing facebook integration.
