hello guys.. do you know how to pairing bluetooth between galaxy sII with blackberry? i want to send pictures from galaxy sII to blackberry..have idea?
1. first off you need to make sure both device are discoverable..
> on blackberry turn on bluetooth, then set discoverable to ON
> on s2 turn on bluetooth, then tick on Visible
2. back to your blackberry, click on add new device, then press search
3. once it found your S2, select it, and confirm the passcode on both device
4. you should see that both device now paired succesfully.. you could now send pictures, music, etc using share via bluetooth
i have already try that way.. but the blackberry bluetooth cannot found that sgs2 bluetooth device...so i cann't pairing..

make sure that your galaxy is visible.. and you put the blackberry on search, not listen mode.. if its not working reboot both device..
if all else fails swap memory card..
i began to doubt that it wont work because older bb's (8530, 8300) not interested to speak with galaxy's bluetooth 3.0 while newer one (9700 above) had no problem pairing with my S2..

Hi all,
sorry for my bad English
I have bought a Galaxy S3 a few days ago
Problem is I can't use android beam on any other phone(i have tried testing with Xperia S)
When we enable android beam on both phones and stick them together nothing happens.
I also tried smart tag , It isn't working too
Is there any problem with NFC on my phone ?
How can I test it?
Thanks a lot
Android Beam doesn't use NFC but only Wifi Direct as far as I know.
Does your phone have an original battery with NFC antenna?

Weird...
I tought that it was:
-android beam: nfc to connect and bluetooth to transfer
-S-beam: nfc to connect and wifi direct to transfer

there is no vibrate when I bring phones together and screen won't change but i tried to touch the screen but it isn't working.
Some folks asked about if it's possible to use it as a stand alone device without the need of activating it in the first place with a Samsung device. It is! (I read that easter egg trick somewhere else in XDA for the Gear 2, it works as well for Gear S)
1. Jump to the screen, where it's visible for Samsung Devices in activation process. You'll see the unique name of your Gear S and a small Watch Icon on the left of the name
2. Tap around 25-30 times on the Watch Icon
3. Now a short message appears saying something about bluetooth. Just ignore it, it will vanish after a few seconds
4. Now tap again on the watch icon but this time leave your finger on the screen for around 5 seconds
5. Voilà, your Gear S is now activated, you can't use it as a remote Smartwatch but as a phone watch at least.
Hope, someone figures out how to pair it with Tab S soon since this is my phone
So, i hope it pairs with my LG G2 without much hassle? Remote sharing probably wont work because it is using Samsung account?
What about all other functions, like notifications, call forwarding etc? Is i even possible to reply on your phone and send via Gear S for messages

If the Steps above don't work buy the watch in the store and have the store pair/ or you to pair it with the display Model of the Note 4 (A guy in the Gear S thread has an iphone and this worked for him) Everything should work as a regular phone besides downloading apps (that needs to connect to the gear manager) and updates ( needs gear manager) Search the Gear 2 thread (Pair with non-Samsung phone works the same for our watch) Tizen is the OS and it should all work the same

Just tried this trick out and I'm happy to say it works perfectly. I have my gear s connected to my iPhone right now. You can receive and place calls directly from the watch.

:good::good::highfive: that's awesome you hear this ppl it works with non Samsung devices
The Op method worked. Now how do i update and connect with my LG G2? In my phone it just says connecting
I connected Gear S to Kies and it says it already has the latest FW
So text messages notifications do not work. That's all I was able to test.
i have an htc m8 .. does this mean i won't get text message notifications either??
I dont think it will.
Gear Manager needs to forward the text notification to your Gear S from your phone.
You might be able to do text if you use at&t messages as a default messaging app try that.
Amazing. This worked. THANK YOU!
Questions:
1) Bluetooth between iPhone and Gear S keeps dropping. How do you fix this?
2) Can you pair the device with more than 1 device? So for example, it's now paired with my 6 Plus. Can add a Galaxy to it so I can add apps? Seems to always factory reset the device.
3) I know text doesn't work but can we use Calendars or Email somehow?

Regarding the question 2:
I have a Galaxy Note 2 and an Iphone. My Iphone is my main phone.
Currently, i successful paired my iphone without the factory reseting. To do that: first i rooted my Gear S. After i use the sdb tool (tizen wearable sdk):
./sdb root on
./sdb shell
and then
cd /var/lib/bluetooth
and i delete the directory with a lot of number (the bt adress of the gear) . Example rm -r C4:42:02:19:99:8D
After i can paired with the iphone without the factory reset.
The problem is i have to do the same thing to reconnect the Galaxy Note 2.
To be continued....

Hold on ... you're deleting the bluetooth address for the Gear?
And how are you not getting this:
No, i don't think that. This directory contains some bluetooth information relating the local (Gear S) address. When i (re)pair it, the directory becomes.
In fact, there is a sub directory with paired bt adresss containing some others informations. To be proper, i deleted the local directory: there is no memory reset, no app lost. I tried to merge the sub directory (the iphone and note 2 bt adress directory), but for the moment it's not concluant.
No, the pairing is sucessfully and i can make a phone call from the Gear S throw the Iphone. For an incoming call , it's another thing: the Gear S rings (but , it's configured in vibration model !), but there is no sound unlike i transferred the call to the iphone and after to the Gear S (not cool !).

What is your model number? SM-R750[?]
Yes, it's a Gear S SM-R750.
The ROM version (rooted, see another thread on xda) is R750XXU1BNJ7.
I already used my gear s for months successfully with my note 4. Always worked OK, also remote connection through WiFi or 3g went without hiccups. Yesterday I bought an edge+, I reset my gear to defaults and installed and ran gear manager. Pairing was OK. All seemed good, only the moment Bluetooth connection is lost the gear switches to WiFi and almost immediately says it cannot set up remote connection. Also on 3g is not working. I ticked the remote connection checkbox in gear manager settings but doesn't work. Already three times reset the gear and setup again, completely removed all gear manager components, no luck so far. Working seamless on Bluetooth, not through remote connection.
Any body with s6 edge+ experience the same?
I have the same issue with my S6 edge+.
I also used the gear S with note 4 without remote connection issues.
I passed by Galaxy S6 Edge to Galaxy S6 Edge+ and I do not work more calls and notifications remotely with Gear S .
Before when I walk away from the range of the bluetooth with the Galaxy S6 Edge could perfectly to have call forwarding and notifications, now with Galaxy S6 Edge+ I get the message that you can not make the call diversion etc etc. connect to Bluetooth.
You have done the same experience?
You know the reasons and solutions?
Thanks for the reply

I have the same issues. I reported them to Samsung. I suggest everybody does the same. So maybe Samsung wakes up and fixes this problem. I suspect it has something to do with gear manager. I noticed that the preinstalled version on the s6 edge plus is older then the one you find in the Samsung store. But I cannot update to this version....
Not dependent on the software version. My S6 Edge+ version is the same that is on the Galaxy Apps (v.2.2.15070942)

You're right. Same version here. I was wrong because in my galaxy store the date next to the version number seems to be today's date. When I looked yesterday it was 9 Sept. That way it looked like it's was released today.
+1, same here
I also updated my S6 edge to the plus version. Everything worked fine with S6 edge but now I can't connect remotely (wifi or 3G). BT connection is OK.
I have reported this to Samsung and they promised to be in touch. Nothing yet thought...

I thought i read somewhere that there was an update for gear manager. Can you check the samsung store to see if there actually is? Maybe it fixes the remote connection problem. I cant check for myself because i had to send my edge+ for repairs (i'm the guy who's back cover shattered)
Let me know please.... And if not succesful keep reporting to samsung... I'll do the same

For me no update available..
Build date is 14.9 but its the same version number (2.2.15070942)
It still doesn't work
Last V.2.2.15070942 ..... remote transfer does not work!
We must insist to request a final settlement with the Service Samsung People.
Same here...note 4 worked perfectly. I swiched 2 days ago to S6 Edge plus and only Bluetooth connection works. Remote conection fails. Tried 3 resets/ uninstals but still nothing
Just reconnected to note 4 and remote connection works flawlessly... Back to the edge and the same problem... Come on Samsung!!!!!

I was having this issue at first but I got it to work, and now it's fine everytime.
Make sure the watch is on, and connected via Bluetooth. Then in the Gear S app, select "remote connect" so that it turns the option on. Then go to "auto call forwarding" and turn that on.
Then walk away until the Bluetooth disconnects. It will appear that remote connection is not working. Then walk back to your phone until Bluetooth reconnects. Then turn off remote connect (without turning off auto-call forward). Then turn remote connect back on. Then go to auto call forward and turn it on again. Viola, works.

Anyone succeed with this method? I tried it a few times but with no luck.

Hi there,
Having the same issues as everyone else here. I am connected to a Note 5 , with the gear manager pre installed. everything works fine except for the remote connection, I just get an error message "failed to enable remote connection" .
I was going to try this fix you suggested, however on my version of gear manager I do not even have the option of auto call forwarding, so I cant try your fix.
I have also tried connecting to a friends S5 and the remote connection worked fine.... this is very disappointing from Samsung to have this major function not working properly for so long.
I hope they provide an update / fix soon.
Regards
Brian

I just spent some time with a "Samsung Expert" in online chat discussing the issue , they said this has not yet been reported to them, so I hope everyone who is posting here will start reporting it to Samsung.
They have now arranged to call me on Wednesday and remotely take control of my phone to see if they can find or resolve the issue , so I will wait and see what they come up with, in the mean time I hope everyone will start contacting Samsung.
I will post back again after my call with them on Wednesday.

I have Samsung Galaxy K zoom and a Galaxy Grand.
So I was browsing through the features and came upon this. I was like "WOW!, I must use this!".
So I use it and it gave two options to connect. NFC and WiFi Direct. I knew my Grand doesn't have NFC and that it had WiFi Direct so I am good to go. I tried connecting it but it failed and said device is not supported.
Ok, I know and can guess that it cant because Grand is on different OS. JB.
So what does that mean?. Do I have to put the same OS (K5 has factory stock Kit Kat 4.4.2) on my Grand to make it work or will it not work either way?. Please dont tell me it will only with with another K zoom, S5 or S4 zoom because that sounds pathetic.
Also, screen mirroring doesn't work either.
Bump.
Apparently no one knows the answer to this?.
