I have a rooted XT912 in ICS 4.0.4. I want to install CM10. Do I need to be on Stock Gingerbread in order to install the ROM? Because I just softbricked my phone when trying to install it... haha. If so, How can I downgrade from ICS 4.0.4 to Stock Gingerbread? Thanks a lot.

ICS roms are beta at best, I wouldn't advise flashing one.
There is CM9 which is AOSP and there is Samsung leaks, all need ICS bootloaders, search and read before you even consider flashing any of the ICS roms.
how to get ics bootloader?? will it be automatically there if i flash a ics leaked rom??

Depends on the rom, stock ones will come with ICS bootloaders, you *may* need them first for CM9. Also if you want to go back to gingerbread from ICS you will most than likely need to flash back to the old bootloaders from this thread.
Hey guys,
so my phone is rooted, and i have the SOS M ROM installed (ICS), and im having some troubles with it, and i would like to return to stock, but since its ICS i dont think i can use the Stock RUU's because they are gingerbread based, not ICS. So do i need to install a gingerbread rom and then attempt to flash back to stock? any help is appreciated
Thanks!

An ruu should work fine for you as long as you're not on hboot 1.58. I'm sure that root isn't the "root" of your problems though, just flash a different Rom.
I'd like to get ICS with working cameras on my Tab. I'm currently rooted running Task14 and looked at Task's latest stock ICS ROM with working cameras. But the rolling screen problems some are having scares me a little.
So my question is this: If I go back to complete stock (which would be HC) then get the OTA update, will I be able to root it using the same procedures outlined here at XDA? Just wondering if using the root method posted on XDA works while running the stock ICS ROM.
If this would work, do I get back to stock unrooted by just doing a factory reset, or do I have to use a specified unroot method?
Samfirmware.com has the stock rom for you download it from there and Flash via odin and you will have stock rom and no root........if u press reset it won't go to stock it will be on same rom ........hit thanx if I have helped
I would like to install safestap on my droid razr xt910 but I can't. I always get a Parse error or something.
I did some research and I figured I need ICS 4.0.4 for this, right? So I rooted my device which is currently on 2.3.6 but I couldn't find a good tutorial on how to update to ICS.
Basically, Im trying to install a custom ROM from the development section, I wanted to try new ROMs... So to do that, I need to install safestrap and to install safestrap I need ICS, and to install ICS I need to root... So basically all I did for now is rooted the device

This may help:

Hey guys, the guide to upgrade to JB says to flash clean ICS... I have a rogers razr with system: 672.180.352.XT910
Can I flash this from rsd: (Will it brick me?)
6.7.2-180_SLC-35_R02_SIGNLATAM_SPYDERICSROGERS_P012_A012_HWp2b_CFC_fastboot.xml.zip
Blur Version 672.180.352.XT910.Rogers.en.CA
Link.
Thanks...
I used the Droid Razr Utility 1.82 to go back to the stock ICS ROM. Then I flashed to that leaked Verizon JB ROM.
And from THERE I flashed the "DiaBiTis.SE.JB.ROM.v2.0.0-R3Ds" ROM and it's been great.
I'm not sure if that helps you.
