I have just acquired a Jaiyu G1 running Android 2.3.6. The seller claimed it to be a MTK6515 but searching that on this forum shows a different phone. I am not allowed to post external links but you can find a picture at bit(dot)ly / ZRPsWr
Unfortunately, it can not download any apps and after quite a while with the Amazon Appstore help-team it appears that the OS has been modified and is now unstable.

I have a second (chinese) browser on the system which seems to get the same error - not sure because the dialog is in chinese. Have tried to download a different browser, but can't because I can't download!
I am totally new to Android, so although I am well versed in IT (my heritage goes back to DOS 5), I am looking for a relatively simple fix. I have no idea what 'rooting' is or any similar terms, so be gentle with me.
It would seem that if it were possible to install a clean (un modified) version of Android Gingerbread that would be the simplest version - simply dump the existing buggy install. However, if that is not practical, any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Dear friend. I have the same problem with that device. As I read arround about that, the problem is google don't recognize that device as "compatible" with it's apps. So, we are not able to install anything from "Google Play" (Market). As an alternative way to install apps, try Blackmart o Moborobo.
Last days I tried to Root my device and flash a new room, but, for now, it's not possible.
I'll keep trying, if I find some solution, I'll contact you by this forum.
Sorry about my poor english!!! :silly:

Kreem, Thanks for replying - your English is fine.
I can not directly download anything onto the phone, through 'play' or (say) photos from the web.
However, I downloaded onto my PC the app for Amazon Appstore. I then copied it onto the phones memory card and re-inserted it into the phone.
From File Manager on the phone I ran the file, which set up the Amazon Appstore on my phone. That works fine, although there are far fewer Apps than on Google.

You must get root privileges, and apply patch with extended GAPPS (added DownloadProvider.apk, DownloadProviderUi.apk, MediaProvider.apk). You can find this files on forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=23396 (sorry, i can't post the link). There are modified firmware with rooted kernel and other. If you have trouble with russian language i'll try to help you.

I have two problems I need help with, and this might be the wrong forum.
I'll start off with some very specifics, including technical specs. I have an Acer Iconia a500. It has an nVidia Tegra 2 T20 CPU (ARMv7 rev 0 version 71) with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage space, and an 8GB microSD card. Manufactured early 2011. It is currently running Android 4.1.2.
Kernel version 2.6.39.4-jellyplay_v3.1+ [email protected]#1
Thu Nov 22 19:23:47 ICT 2012
Build number
cm_a500-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng.pj.20121122.181927 test-keys
First, the Google Search crashes every time I open it. I did the OS install (ROM, OS, almost same thing) from a clean wipe. Google Search, when I open it, gets through the Google Now setup stages. But whether I choose yes or no, it then returns to the previous screen with no errors or messages for me. I found a suggestion that said I should wipe my cache- that just forced Android to 'optimize' my apps- no change in behavior. Anybody have any hints?
Second, Google Chrome hasn't worked for ages on my tablet, even under the stock (but rooted) ICS. It says 'Critical functionality required to run Chrome is missing: either your Chrome installation is incomplete, or not compatible with this version of Android.' I did try to change the build.prop file to match the ILK74M, I think was the suggestion, and that didn't work. Before I changed the build.prop, it reported that my Android installation may be corrupt. I also tried un-updating the market, and reinstalling the app. No dice. Ideas?
Finally, I'm using pjsports's CM10 Jellybean ROM. It was last updated on November 26th, 2012. Is there a more updated CM10 and/or Jellybean ROM for the Acer a500 that I'm missing? EDIT: Just found pjgsport's weekly release. I'll try updating to that. I'd still like help with the other two, or at least an explanation.
Hi, I seek help with the following china tablet.
MTK6572 3G KT07 7 Inches
It looks exactly like the attached pictures.
I am seeking a proper rooted 4.2.2 rom or more as I am having problems with the current ROM.
- Unable to update Google Search
- Error - Package file not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.
- Unable to update Google Map
- Error - Package file not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.
- Google Play Service having problems
- Error - Google Play Services, which some of your application rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Cant even use launch Hangouts without the Google Play Services
I have a friend who has the same exact model does not have the same as me. But both our firmwares are two different versions although its on the same 4.2.2 platform. I have tried contacting the person who sold it to me and he said the supplier does not have the latest ROM. I suspect they only sell and would not get any support from them. Hoping that someone can actually help me on this. If possible, also to guide me on how to flash this phablet if a suitable ROM is found. Really appreciate it. Thanks you advance.
hi, any solutions for this? really appreciate the help. Thanks
Framaroot
If you use framaroot it will root you original firmware no problem... I have one of these mtk6572 tablets.... on a unrelated note, I really need newest version of software for this perticular phablet(KT07)... If by any chance you have it, That would greatly be apreciated...
Framaroot:

If your board number matches the one in this site, this firmware will work for you if you need a reflash... HOWEVER, I have the v15 board and the screen doesnt work with the v13 firmware on the v15 board... beware that they have to match...
KT07 firmware(V13 board)(Unrooted):

file flash kt07_mb_mt6572_v15
please file flash china tablet
ccit a150w
kt07_mb_mt6572_v15
For those with _V15 boards, an option.
Would recommend:
needrom.com/download/jty-706-a3/
actually says V18, the F1123-V15-3G-ap which is online did only boot, but with a wrong size screen, so do try the 18 marked, worked for mine.
The scatter and files are there, did not use the SP flash offered in the link but it is still there if you havent loaded one yet.
**EDIT** After reinstall step by step(?) BusyBox again i got not more problems with GSII_Repair and got my IMEI, SIM and all working, i guess i did something wrong when installing BusyBox first time. The only problem i got now come from that i cant play videos from Dailymotion on browsers like Opera or Firefox; All the other videos play fine(youtube, vk....), but when trying to play a video from dailymotion says that media is not supported( this in opera and firefox), but using the Dailymotion app all videos i tried work fine. I want to say that before i lost IMEI and tried tons of solutions, videos from dailymotion worked pretty well, and by now i think is cause of the root i made, that is listed below. Tried installing flash player and nothing. Any ideas?. i will keep searching!, thanks for your time.
**Old and Desperated explain of my solved problem (Thanks to GSII_Repair and Patience)**
Here im going to try to explain my problem the best possible to try to find a solution without sending it to techincal service.
After reboot my device it stopped detecting SIM card, and the IMEI was null when typing *#06#. I never touched the android operating system even to update it, was the stock ROM. I entered this 'world' yesterday cause of need, so i might being telling you incoherent things, that and my english is bad, so sorry in advice.
Info about my device:
-Android Version: 2.3.5
-Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKJ3-CL647431 [email protected]#2
-Compilation Number: GINGERBREAD.BGKJ3
-Model Number: GT-I9100
What i have tried?:
-To root my device with this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...12-k-la-lp-t1103399/post14283342#post14283342.
Wanted to root to try to use GSII_Repair. Root worked but kept getting problem with GSII_Repair, the 3 steps: program kept telling me i needed to fix my BusyBox(Which is installed). Also wanted to try to flash with the oficial ROM 2.3.5 again but didnt find any link alive to download it.
- Factory data reset (Ended with worse situation, cause cant use google play or concnet to wifi)
-Tried with the 9 steps guide in this forum to recover the IMEI, but cant delete 'efs' folder cause 'the data system is only for reading', was using root explorer. (didnt check a lot in the comments cause no time)
Curious thing is my efs folder is there and i think it got all inside, i did a zip file (with root explorer) and saved it to my pc. All the apps im using on my device come from my pc cause i cant use wifi nor google play aka market.
I might be forgetting things, so i will try to update this post even if we find a solution. Thanks again for your time.
Hi Guys,
Maybe you will know how to sorted problem with my android.
I bought rear view mirror (model m-501gpsx-ly) from China with android on it for nav and camera recording. Mirror had very restricted (poor) settings and no google play store to take applications. Seller told me to take apk with play store for android 4.2.2. After installation mirror is dead.
Chinese dude([email protected]) disappear and no answering for emails at all. Mirror is only booting and booting and nothing happens. I can’t check anything with usb cable because usb debugger is not on. May is some program to run from ps and connect via usb to make factory reset or repair android? Or use some program on SD card (slot is available ) and do something like “update”? Of course original ROM is impossible to get from seller.
Thank you very much for help
Best Regards
Dan
Today I opened this mirror and looks like A20 getting over temp because off looping some commands. Is there any chance to do factory reset on A20? and more details about mirror:

Hi Guys and Oliver, partly I would say yes, a few days ago we got (two of us) a new firmware. I installed this and mirror come back to live. New firmware no make any changes only logo when booting is different
I'm still trying and trying install google play store to have some applications running. For me choice of this mirror was completely error/mistake.
Very poor restricted settings, you cant have normal apk, have to use what sss-car gave you in china language (useless for me), other gps apk doesn't work etc.
I found a few lies/fraud what seller did: check your ram memory is only 500Mb not 1Gb, inside is only one mic not two and camera resolution is far far from HD, angle of camera I will check later but on first view is less than 170, no movement detector for sure.
I was very desperate to fix camera when fail after google play store installation so I opened mirror. On board inside you have outputs ready for antyradar (future probably), and very bad quality soldering - my daughter can make better for sure.
May you have some more luck on this mirror and some ideas how to install good apk and remove chines? I have rooted already but that is not giving you much. Only 2 languages available, no proper settings options and worst: any apk with word google is banned strait away, same with nav/gps apk like GPS essential - no chance to install. Where and how this blocked ? Long digging front of me to fix it I see
BR
Thanks for help and your opinion.
i use amazon underground for install new program, and il work !
Hey guys, how are y'all doing?
Here's a little background on my problem:
A year ago bought a cheap-ass smartphone for my mom, from a big supermarket chain in my country that was selling french phones cheaply, it was only 60€ and my mom needed a phone, so there it is!
Anyway cut to the present, the phone is riddled of what I suspect is malware that installs itself as soon as I remove it such as Free Games, com.google.toolkit, MiniChrome, N62Androidpt, System Component, adservice, and a couple others.
It also keeps switching wi-fi off, and turning on that option that allows apps to be installed from unknown sources, and worst of all it keeps opening the phone in built browser with adds, and even porn sites on occasion, which is really not desirable as my very young aged nieces love stealing the phone and try to use it.
I installed malwarebytes, also did a factory reset to no avail it fixed nothing.
So I decided to flash a stock rom to see if I could get rid of it, searched around and found a repository of stock roms or firmwares or whatever it's called (I'm not too familiar with this side of smartphones), which I'd love to post, but apparently can't because I've last than 10 posts: doc-doapi.com/EM/selecline/smartphone/
It has a lot of roms for different models of my brand.
Used the UpgradeDownload - R2.9.2015 tool that was in that folder and flashed it successfully.
After I turned on the device it opened the new phone setup process, logged in to my google account, and restores my stuff like contacts, and a few trusted google apps from before the flash, but it soon started again to install those malware apps I stated up there on it's own, and it was soon in the same state as before...
Anyway here's some info about my phone that probably should've gone to the top.
It's a Selecline phone
Model S4S5in3g
Android version: 5.1
Kernel version: 3.10.65
Compilation number: S3S5in3g.V1.2_20160307
At the back it has a sticker and another model number 870712 which I used to find the folder on that repository of stock roms.
And that's all in a big nutshell, anyone has any tips?
Thanks.
lil' bump
Do you have login credentials for this Auchan website where you found the ROMs? It is asking for a login ID and password. I need ROM for Model S6S5IN3G.
Quick tip for getting rid of Malware even before they start. Go to Settings and check Data Usage. See which apps are using lots of data (downloading junk into your device). Note if there are any strange sounding apps that are downloading a lot of data, especially if it is not an app that you yourself were directly using.
Next, flash the stock ROM again. Once you flash the new ROM, you have to find a way to root the device. Try KingRoot. Then after the phone is rooted, go to Playstore and download SD Maid. Run SD Maid and give it root access. In the settings for AppControl of SD Maid, allow it to show system apps. Then run app control and freeze any strange-looking user apps (or anyone that was downloading a lot of data) and system app that are not required.
Please, let me know about the website and how to access the ROMs.
As mentioned before, install a clean room again. Copy virustotal app from the attachment of these post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77053739&postcount=11) to SD-card and install it. Turn wifi on and let it run. Control every app and the system-apps. Post a screenshot of the findings. If there are findings, then the room is infected. The only way to deal with this, is to root it, install rootexplorer an kill the infected app. This can be dangerous, if for example, the lauchner is infected, an alternative launcher must first be installed and set as default, before you can kill the infected one (otherwise you will own a useless phone until you flash it again ;o).
Hey guys, thanks for trying to help.
I tried literally everything before, I've even somehow got a kitchen up and running and I removed everything that looked suspicious and all those bran add-ons from the rom, but even then I'd still get infected.
I didn't really try the antivirus route though and to be honest I already shelved that phone, but I'm kinda bored, so I'll try y'all suggestions, an extra working phone can always come in handy.

I'd love to help you mate, I found that repository in a forum maybe forum.gsmhosting, and I've tried to access it earlier, and I'm also denied access.
