hi everybody. unfortunately yesterday the internal sd has stopped working. when i turn on the phone it stays on dell logo and then it reboots. trying to reinstall the rom streakmod recovery says that there are nomore the partitions on the sd.
i've tried to reimage it following this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405920) but i'm a noob and i wasn't able to do it.
can everybody show me a different/easier/more complete guide to reformat the internal sd, because i would prefer not to get the phone in assistance. thanks everybody
Put a different SD card in the phone and try a factory reset.

What marvin02 said and that is the most complete guide
Hi everyone!
I have (what I think is) a huge problem on my phone and after looking in tons of forums for solutions I found that the people here seem to really be able to help me.
I'm new to android phones... So please bare with me...
So I bought this phone in second hand from a friend who was in need of some cash for college (I don't really like to buy used stuff but...), and it came rooted with cyanogenMod7 but I was having trouble cause the phone wouldn't recognize my sd card and I couldn't connect it to my pc so I tryed to change it back to its original settings...
Its a vodafone 845 (huawei U8120)..
A friend of mine tried to help and we found this recovery menu (Clockwork recovery v3) and he chose some format options (format boot, system and data) and now the phone is useless! It still doesn't recognize my SD card or my pc, I can get into this recovery menu again but cant seem to fix the problem!
Other than that all the phone does is show the initial hourglass forever...
I would be so gratefull if someone could help! Thank you in advance!

Well you wiped the phone, so there's nothing to boot into.
You need to put a rom on the root of the SD card (not in any folders). Make sure the rom is made for your device. Boot into recovery and flash the rom, you should have a working phone after that.
Thank you for you help!
Now the only problem that stands is that the phone doesn't mount my sd card... Its an 8gb kingston, maybe I should get one with less capacity? The previous owner used a 4gb card and she said she never had any trouble regarding that...
Although the phone specifications on the net say it can handle cards up to 16gb :S
Have you tried mounting the SD card in clockwork mod as the usb disk drive?
Its found under mounts/storage.
sent from my legend, currently using extream legend fuse™
Ok guys, I've gotten as far as flashing the rom!!
Made huge progress in exchange for several hours of sleep xD
Now the only problem that stands is that when I choose the option "flash zip from sd card" I get this:
"E: No signature (242 files)
E: verification failed
Installation aborted"
And I'm lost again, yet soooo close to fixing my phone! :/

There should be an option somewhere to turn off signature verification. If you can find that option, toggle it off and try again.
You should try installing the original Firmware.Or Reinstall CM7
I got very similar problem. Have u tried to install different sd card. Maybe current one is broken like in my case?
Note: I do not have this device
See [GUIDE]All Huawei new&old phones-Install Stock Rom-Full Reset
Procedure:
1) Download stock ROM from HERE (im guessing you want Vodaphone UK)
2) Format your SD card to FAT32 (plug it into computer, right click on device, format, follow instructions)
3) Create the folder "dload" (without the quotes of course) on to the root (top level) of your SD card.
3) Extract the UPDATE.APP from the stock ROM and place it in "dload"
4) Power off your phone and put sd card in.
5) Power on by pressing POWER+RED_BUTTON+VOLUME_UP
If done correctly you will see a progress bar saying "UPDATING!"
Edit: this will reset the device to normal, however it will of course require a working SD Card. Try using a friends, try using your card in other devices (other phones, computers, etc).
To test SD Cards in your phone:
1) Insert Card
2) Boot into recovery
3) Go to Mounts & Storage menu
4) Plug device into computer
5) Choose "Mount sdcard over USB" (or similar)
6) If it shows up on the computer it is working, and you may as well use it to carry out the steps above
Note, if you are still checking for sdcard after resetting the phone, you will need to devise another method as the recovery will be replaced. For example use the storage menu in system settings, as this will show stats on the sdcard if it is readable.
My phone is working!
The problem with the SD card was that it was password protected, so I used another phone to disable the password, about the ROM, i just picked another one, I actually found it here on XDA! The celestial teapot, I really like it
Now all I want to know is if its possible to have multitouch on my phone?
And by the way, THANK YOU ALL for your help guys! You're awsome!

No problem, glad to help. Glad you got everything up and running too Multitouch is included in the kernel (at least on my device). If you can find a custom kernel for your phone, make sure it's compatible with your rom. I'm not familiar with your phone, so you'll need to do some checking on kernels. I'm not sure if multitouch is also a hardware limitation or not, so if you don't have multitouch at all it may not be possible. Kernels determine the number of touch points on my phone, if you don't have it at all then it may not be possible or there may be another mod for it.
If you can flash a custom kernel to achieve this, remember to do a nandroid backup first. Always do a backup when flashing anything. If they start to take up too much space, delete the old ones and just keep the most recent. Also remember to only wipe dalvik and cache when flashing a kernel.
Again, since I'm not familiar with your phone you'll need to do some research on these things first. The best thing you can do is read, read, and read some more. If you get stuck again, the good people here will always be able to help you out.
Ok so before you all try to get on my case I know now I am suppose to install these roms from the internal sd.
problem is I tried to installed CM7 because I hate stock roms. I am not new to flashing since I have done it on the g2x, milestone 2, x8, transformer prime but this is the first to only allow me to install from internal sd
so anwyays I tried with no success. I wiped all and left my phone on over night maybe thinking it will take some time.
So at this moment I am charging the battery using the macguver method and also I think i need clockwork recovery 5 something something
right now I have version 4.0.14
So my main question is how do i send the rom i want to the internal sd and or is there a rom that I can install from any sd card?
just want to boot up, get my paid version of cwm, get cm7 on and have a wonderful time playing with this phone!
thanks!

Flash recovery-atrix5.img, clear davlik-cache, cleardata/factory reset, then reboot system
Hey I fixed it! I let the battery charge for like 30 min on the macguver way and then I used the auto unlocked v4.2 and then, I downloaded cwm 5.020 and renamed the same as what the auto unlocker had which was like 4.9 something, open auto unlocker and selected flash cwm.
Then I wiped data and cache. Installed cm7 from ext sd. Wiped cache again. Rebooted and now it's perfect.
Would have wrote and Better response but I am on a phone!
I was using ics passion and one day i got the error of encryption unsuccessful...i clicked on reset phone it went into CWM and start doing something i saw a message /data failed (like that)...then i thought to use Odin it flashed successfully but went into a bootloop...as soon as i inserted my external sd card( when the phone was ON) it went into the installation place where it use to go after we flash the stock rom...but it said data wipe failed i followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8698655&postcount=150 but it aint helped...i am screwed please help me....i need your help guys ~!
Sorry for your loss, but you have fallen victim to the Encryption Error Bug that is hitting ICS ROMs in the Vibrant, Captivate, Transformer, SGSII,...devices.
Your internal SD is there but it locked up and you cannot access it anymore. There have been reports that some phone have come back from the coma, however at this time there is no solution.
You need to go here and use this workaround for setting up your external SD to run your phone/ROM from.
Hi guys,
I can't work out why but when I go to wipe all settings then install custom rom from zip file in cmw recovery, it completes normally but after the reboot it just stays on the android bot. I went back into recovery and managed the phone through usb to my PC & saw that in the phone storage there was nothing where there is obviously supposed to be boot files. I have installed this custom rom before & it has been no problem. I also have tried a few other roms (all that i've tried before & they all work) and the same thing happens. I have found one rom that worked strangley and when I manged the phone on my PC i saw that it has placed the boot files on the sd card (not the phone storage).
how can i fix this.
i am very new to rooting so please no complicated talk
can someone not help? this is a big issue.
ill try and explain the problem in more detail below...
i have been messing with my phone lately using CMW TOUCH to wipe my data then install rom from zip. everything was going great until now.
i want to install a rom (that i have installed before.so i know its compatible with my phone), i go through tge same procedure of wiping data then installing from zip.all goes the way it should with it telling me its installing from zip, after a while it tells me to reboot the phone. when i do all that happens is it stay on the green android bot for 1 min then reboots. i went into CMW TOUCH to connect phone to pc & found out that it installed nothing, nothing on the phone storage and on the sd card except the custom rom.
i have tried this with few other roms all with the same results.
NOW...
ive managed to find a rom that will install so it is functional all except recently after a reboot it has stopped detecting the sim, weird.
i connected the phone to my pc to find that all boot files are stored on the sd card not phone storage like it used to.
i had an idea that i will try later today and that is to move the custom rom over to the phone storage from the sd card. remove the sd card during install. maybe that will force the install to use the phone storage for the boot files
will let you know the outcome
jamos
i have just tried to install the rom with the sdcard removed from phone & the same thing happened. even though during the installation it tells me that it is formatting system then installing it installs nothing to the phone storage.
