I, U, H & B keys unresponsive on TF101 dock? - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Hello!
I have had my TF101 for little over a year and have it rooted and running Revolution.
However, I have recently began to use the pad for more work and noticed that the i, u, h & b keys are not working.
I have had a look about and think this is probably a hardware problem that I have spotted ridiculously late and need to send off to ASUS?
However, when rooting I did not have the dock connected. Would this have any influence? Does anyone have any suggestions or is it as I fear a hardware issue?
Thanks in advance!

The only thing I could suggest is to try to run a key test in recovery. If other keys work but those still don't appear then its a hardware problem.

Logitech bluetooth keyboard

this thing has so many problems that it's completely unusable! It times out its connection to my tablet after a few seconds. when I wake it back up it force closes whatever app I happen to be in. half the time it wont even wake up at all. It randomly repeats a typed letter, ad nauseum, during the brief intervals of "functionality."
I'm starting to get very skeptical about android. This is as bad as gtalk failing to send messages, which is another widespread fatal flaw that has gone completely unaddressed by Google.
The bluetooth implementation in android is BROKEN. SHATTERED. Extremely disappointing.
I've done a million searches seeking solutions to this problem and the internet is stone dumb on this issue. I want a workaround and I want it yesterday.
I'm using a Transformer tablet, but the same crappy issues are being had by my Xoom as well.
Unacceptable. Period.

I'm sorry to hear that, I've used bluetooth mice, keyboards and stereo headsets from the TF101 (not sure about other androids) and they work a treat! They pair like a dream and allow you to rename them (which is great as my headsets name is KC302).
If you want a device with a poor bluetooth implementation I'd look at iOS. Does logitech assert Android as an OS it supports? Have you even spoken to them or are you just ranting? Bluetooth is a pretty solid standard these days, usually its when devices try to implement stuff beyond the standard that things get buggy.
Have you tried other roms? Kernels? (using the same devices)
I have in fact spoken to logitech and they want to send me a replacement (which wont help anyone.) The device has android printed on it's backside so it should work without a hint of trouble. Not.
I have rooted a few devices in my time, but not the transformer. Is it easy yet?

Or.. It might help? I agree though, doesn't sound all that promising.
I believe that depending on your firmware, its easier than turning it on.
The Razorclaw method requires installing an app from a link, then clicking one button. Make sure you have a compatible system first, but then it takes about 38.4 seconds from downloading to being rooted.

Bluetooth Keyboard/HID Device Latency

Can anybody confirm that they are having the same problem on their Galaxy Tab 7.7? If I use a bluetooth keyboard, it pairs and sets up and works fine, but if I don't press any keys for exactly one second, then press a key, there is a latency of about 0.5 seconds for the key press to register. I don't have this problem on my Galaxy Nexus, and I can recreate it with both a bluetooth keyboard and a wiimote connected through bluez ime. However, if I connect the wiimote as a non-hid device through wiimote controller, there is no latency after however many seconds. I believe there must be some latency setting to save power, but am not sure. Can anyone advise? I play games with an external keyboard, and it really messes me up. Thanks!
I haven't timed it, but I haven't noticed any latency or issue with my Bluetooth keyboard.

Could you perhaps let me know which model you have (3g or wifi) and which firmware you're running? If you could just test to make sure that the keyboard responds instantly after not being used for about five seconds, I'll flash mine to whatever you have and be forever grateful.
i am also experiencing this, but i am using like a $12 bluetooth keyboard so i just shrug it off since im not bothered by the lag anyway

Good to know that I'm not alone. Hopefully ICS will fix it. I know my galaxy nexus doesn't have this problem so I can only keep my fingers crossed. It wouldn't bother me for text input, but it bothers me hugely when trying to play games, so we'll see if anyone knows how to fix this. Thanks a lot for confirming though.
I'm using a Logitech bluetooth mouse V470 and it's really fast, yes there's a little lag when I stop using it for a few minutes but it's so little that doesn't really bother me. I cant tell you right now about a keyboard, I'll test one tomorrow with and without the mouse and we'll see what happens... I'll get back to you...
Thanks. That's the only real problem with mine right now. I've tried only the Hong Kong firmware, but I don't see there being a difference in the other ones. I imagine that if it's possible to disassemble one of the APKs related to bluetooth and change a timeout value it will work, but I have no idea where to look for such a file.
I connected the bluetooth mouse and a keyboard and they both work great simultaneously, and yes, there's always a delay after you stop using then for a moment but doesn't really bother me...

I'm using a Hong Kong one, and also experience the lag after I stopped using it for awhile. This also affects my Phonejoy game controller at times unfortunately.
Really hope, ICS will fix this.

Same here, it bothers me, but seems it's some general bluetooth go to sleep or whatever issue, after not typing for a couple of seconds, the first keystrokes fail to register for a second or so.
I noticed identical behavior with the Samsung Note.
Glad I found this thread, because I couldn't find anything else anywhere with Google. There's a similar thread in the 7.0 Plus Accessories forum. I can confirm that I'm having the same issue, only with the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Same exact issue. I'm using both the iControlPad and a keyboard, and the issue manifests itself with both devices, so it's got to be the tablet.
I also noticed that, if a key is held down for too long (I think 3+ seconds), the corresponding action or letter will repeat for a second or two (very noticeable when playing platformer games). If that same key is held down for a shorter period (say, only 1, maybe 2 seconds), then the action or letter will cease repeating immediately after I let go of the key.
Submitted a request to Samsung to fix this, and you may want to do the same (not sure if it will help, but doesn't hurt to try).
Mobile gaming was one of the reasons I got this tablet, and games are nearly unplayable with this delay that is introduced. I'm using the same bluetooth devices with the Motorola Razr Maxx, and these delay issues are not present at all (in fact, the response with using a controller is near perfect). Hate to say it, but I will be forced to look to other tablets if this doesn't get resolved with the ICS update (and I won't get my hopes up).
I can confirm that with the vanilla ICS bluetooth implementation in the Galaxy Nexus, this problem isn't present. I actually sold my Tab 7.7 because of this problem, among other various small bugs, like programs randomly disappearing (of course it's rooted, and I can't say if this happens when not rooted).
Hopefully when ICS is released, if it does have the problem, there will be an AOKP or Cyanogenmod port which will resolve it. Sadly, I don't want to wait for that. Perhaps anyone with an SGS 2 can confirm if this problem is present in Gingerbread and in ICS, or only in gingerbread. Someone with a note could do the same.
Posted this in the 7.0 Plus thread as well. Called Samsung's support line after reporting this by email. I would normally think that this would lead nowhere, but their support line seems to lead to knowledgeable people who at least understood what I was saying (and this seems to be a very specific issue). The number is 1-800-726-7864.
I reported the issue, and I also mentioned the 7.7 tab and the Note. Not sure if that will lead anywhere, but it doesn't hurt for more people to report this.
Also asked about ICS... crickets of course
So my hope to c0nnect keyboard n mouse. Hdmi output and charging at the same time is gone.

[Q] Display errors: Bars across screen? (with pic)

Hi guys hoping someone has any help to offer.
Been searching but not found anything relevant.
My TF201 has display error where bars appear all over the screen (as in the attached pic) which disappear if I interact with the device or screen.
It happens very frequently and totally ruins the experience.
I'm not sure if it is a software or hardware issue but I know it has continued to happen even after upgrading from CM9 to CM10, the problem remains.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone have any tips for sending my TF201 off under warranty now that is is unlocked and hacked?
Any tips at all would be kindly appreciated!
Thanks!
P.S. It's a Japanese TF201 and I live in Japan.

That looks like a hardware failure of the LCD to me. I've never seen that on my tablet. You're going to have to send it to Asus or your can try to replace it on your own.
This is happening to me too! It started last night when I flashed an aokp rom. I was upgrading from an older version to a newer version. T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3. Don't know what to do?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
It's a known issue on CM ROMs that seem to affect only a small number of Primes, but seemingly not any devs, thus it doesn't look like it'll be fixed any time soon.
Switch to EOS or Hairybean 1.2. I have this on any rom with a CM base, but it's fine on anything else. (Although interesting to hear it happens on AOKP too)
Your device is fine (or fine at least from the manufacturer's point of view)

Bluetooth keyboard WiFi dropping issue

Hey guys.
I love the tablet z untill today. I have connected a Bluetooth keyboard to the tablet. Every few min or so the WiFi connection drops while Bluetooth and the keyboard are connected. When Bluetooth is switched off there are no drop offs. Any ideas ? I switched off smart connect thinking it may be that?
I am not rooted in anyway (well not yet)
Sent from my SGP321 using Tapatalk HD
wow this is so disappointing... i've had the tablet for a week and am loving it, but had seen your post and just received my bluetooth keyboard in the mail (a motorola) and sure enough, wifi is like dead when it's connected... i don't think it actually dropped the wifi... it shows i have a signal with my wifi router, but nothing is loading at all...
anyone else noticing this issue?
I noticed this same thing today. I didn't notice this before my update to .370 (Wi-Fi only model); although I don't know if there is actually a correlation.

I am havig the same Issue. Using either a Bluetooth Keyboard, Mouse, or sixaixis Gamepad.
Is this just happening to some (broken) tablets or is everyone having this problem?
If someone is NOT having this issue using Bluetooth and Wifi at the same time, could they please post here, to confirm that this acctually can work properly?
This thread mentions the same problem for the tablet z but no solution either: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339032

Where can I buy a GPS Dongle?

I got a used TF201 on 4.1.1 a few days back, I've already unlocked and rooted it following the great guides here,
but now I need a dongle for it, does anyone know where I could get one?
Thanks in advance.
PS. Sorry for the double post, I thought, I'd ask here after seeing some other posts like this..
Update ****
I got one from dpwhitty11, thanks for all the responses
I would also like to know where I could get one at as well. Thank you

Hi,
I have got a Asus TF 201 GPS dongle.
But even with Asus stock rom I prefered a GPS-Mouse (Nokia Bluetooth) because it worked much better.
Using a BT-GPS-Mouse:
Install e.g. "bluetooth gps provider" from play store and check your setting for wrong position in developer settings.

I just got mine from the class action law suit against them for the GPS issues. Got the dongle and the $17 (even though my TF201 came from Ebay)
