Droid DNA no longer connecting to home wifi - HTC Droid DNA

Today out of nowhere I began getting webpages not available on my DNA. I am connected to my home wifi which I had been using for a week prior without a single problem. I changed by wifi band to 2.4 ghz only, nothing. Soft reset, nothing. Messed with some settings on my browser, nothing. Changed my wifi channel from my router and changed the wpa key and reconnected, nothing. I have no idea why it just decided to stop working. I was connected to my school wifi earlier without a problem. I'd appreciate any help

Try using a different type of WPA. One of them doesn't play nicely on my DNA.

Which WPA encryption type did you use? Maybe if one of us can recreate your problem, we can figure something out.

i have tried using the static ip address method- doesnt work
i have tried hard reset - doesent work
i have updated to 2.1 (about 3 times)- doesnt work
so any ideas?
i will also add that sony erricson support claim that this is not possible
Have you tried another network? Or reboot your router?

works well on one other network (and used to on this network!) - and yes rebooted but still not worked!
If it works on another network, i dont think its something wrong with your phone.
Try a few other hotspots
If you are using WPA then switch to WPA2 on your router!
I had a simular problem after going to 2.1 both on my mini pro and the ex's lg gt540, not sure what caused it, but reseting the router to factory and re entering all my settings fixed it for some reason
Use wep

I'm having a similar problem with my wife's x10mini. She has it for the past 6 months and has always been able to connect to our home router. Since 2 days ago she has been unable to see the router in her wifi settings and so unable to connect to it. The strange thing is that she can still see all of our neighbors wifi routers, just not ours, that is just 1m away.... I tried manually adding it but it says that the router is out of range.
I have gone through all router settings I can access and the phone still cannot see the router. I've even left the router wide open, without any protection whatsoever and the phone still couldn't see the router, despite seeing all other routers around.
Please give me some ideas to try. I've also formatted the phone and re-installed everything to no avail. I'm getting a bit lost now.
Maybe this can help someone else, my problem was solved by changing the router channel from Auto to Channel 10.
Maybe the router started using a channel that the phone couldn't see/use.

Maybe an complete reinstall of the base system would help also try simply turning on and off your wireless and see if it works
I also experience almost all of these bugs but turnin on and off my wireless fixed my problems

Another wifi "fix"

Or "work around" rather.
I've found that if I assign a static IP to my Touchpad via MAC reservations, the disconnect issue seems to go away. Just some food for thought.

really ?
have to try it (desper) ... but dont understand why
Just assign your router to search on Ch 4. This fix has been talked about several times on rootzwiki. Ive tried it and it works. Don't even bother with a static IP.

My router is set to Channel 4 and that made it stable for the most part, I still had disconnects on rare occasion. Assigning a MAC reservation seemed to stop it altogether.
out of curiosity...when people says they have wifi issues? What kind of issues are these? I am using TP for some time now...i never had any issue...only issue i have is that it doesnt connect to google server on Android very well....but i can surf internet and stream radio continuously
Reboot router fixed the wifi problem
Found this by luck.
Reboot router actually fixed the wifi problem and i am not sure why.
When problem with occur for the wifi, rebooting on touchpad or reflash, it did not work. It seems like router actually locked out the mac address. I am using linksys router but unable to find anything from the log or something. Only rebooting router will fix this issue. Very strange.
I am actually having the strangest problem with my wifi.
Down on the status bar, the wifi indicator is gone. I have tried toggling it. I reinstalled 2.1 from A3. I have cleared cache and dalvik
Yesterday, I did switch from Comcast to UVerse, but I was able to connect my Touchpad just fine. Today I simply rebooted my Touchpad to try to fix the haptic feedback (something I have done numerous times). And now there is no icon and I can't connect to my wifi. Anyone else had these problems?

Obtaining ip address....never connects

So my WiFi has been working fine on my prime connecting to any network till yesterday. I went to work, connected to the WiFi network, everything working fine. Then I disconnected from the network and tried to reconnect and it wouldnt connect. All I get is it saying obtaining ip address. I went to my girls after work, same issue there, sees the network but all I get it obtaining ip address and it never goes past that. It does connect to my sensation hotspot though. I hard reset it, even factory reset it and still have the issue...any ideas?

Ever try resetting the router?
I would never have reset over it.. not without rebooting routers/modems first and it sounds like you didnt try this. I get this issue now and then - rare - and a router reboot always fixes it. I never have to resort to drastic stuff like phone or tablet resets. The fact it can talk to your phones hotspot - not router related - even more signals to the router as first place to look.

I agree....this will work for when he's at his "girl's", but the bigger problem is the office network. That can't be rebooted at will.
Best suggestion I have is to go into the Adanced mode, and where an option "modify Network"...choose that....sometimes just hitting SAVE works, sometimes I re-enter the WEP key and hit save.
In worst case, you could say "forget network" and try starting from scratch....
Good luck,
Bob
You sure your work doesn't do any sort of MAC filtering? Maybe something adaptive?

Help! My wifi keeps disconnecting!

I just upgraded my firmware. And I have problem with Wi-fi.. it keeps connecting, then disconnected over and over.. its never get connected! I tried tp use Fix My Wifi apk, and Wifi Fixer but that doesn't work :'( can't you help me?

I had this problem once before IIRC. Do you have any apps or settings enabled that automatically turn the WiFi off when you're not in range? Something like Y5 Battery Saver or anything of the sort? If you have any apps like that, uninstall them or force close them then try and connect.
I don't have any app. But my wifi automaticaly turn off whenever my screen off. I can't connect any wifi :sly:

Wifi problems
Try this - Blade WiFi Fix
Its for the Blade but works on other phones, it keeps the WiFi alive when the screen turns off.
Hope this helps
Also if it works please post here and comment on the app so other people know if they get the same problem as you

Do you have access to the router you are trying to connect to?
If so try changing the channel its on.
Apparently (from reading on another forum) if there is another router in range that's on the same channel it can cause android phones to struggle with connecting.
You could also try - Spare Parts Plus which allows you to change the sleep status
And - Blade Buddy which lets you change your phones WiFi scan interval

Older thread but doesn't seem solved...
Looking at the above, have you checked your wifi sleep policy? It may be set to disconnect when the screen turns off instead of persisting in the background.
This worked for me
I had a similar problem and found it was DHCP. I have 2 iPads, 1 Droid pad, 2 Droid phones, and an iPod in the house. The Apple devices were attempting to seize IP addresses held by the Droid devices.
The Apple devices were trying to get the last IP they were issued and were ignoring the DHCP deny messages coming from the router and mindlessly retrying the request until eventually they either managed to get the IP they wanted or they just took it. (the latter, I think) When that happened, the Apple device would appear in my list of connected devices, the Droid would be out, and it would lose its connection.
After I entered static DCHP reservations for all the wireless devices in the house, my constant disconnects went away.
I would try setting a reservation for your Droid outside the DHCP range configured on your router.
The fix
Im not trying to revive a dead thread but im just trying to help. If you are having the constant disconnect and reconnect wifi problem , it's because your android phone sucks and cannot take the automatic wifi N. Go to your router settings and set to "Use G only". It will work.
Worked perfectly on my parents LG L7 (free phones from fido) I guess it didnt support N at all. My router was on "Mixed A/B/G/N" settings.
Hope this helps.

Prime won't connect to Wifi at work (fine at home)

I decided to bring my prime to work today and can’t seem to connect to the wifi here. My Thunderbolt and ipod connect to it just fine, but when I put the password in and press connect on my tablet, essentially nothing happens. It just goes back to the main wifi screen where I can choose it again and can select either Connect, Forget or Cancel. I tried forgetting and re-entering the pw. I did a soft reboot and it still doesn’t do anything when trying to connect.
I am running on AndroWookie, and have had this problem in the past but it would eventually connect on the 2nd or 3rd try.
What I find strange is that it still seems to remember my old SSID’s I’ve connected to in the past even though I did a full wipe of all data and formatted.
I can connect at home without issue, so I was wondering if there are any tricks I can use to make my prime connect to wifi here.
Thanks!
I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago, my Prime would not connect to 2 different wifi networks even when I typed in the SSID & password manually. Very discouraging!

Have you tried to add network manually in wifi settings.

I will try this tomorrow. It seems strange that it can't or has trouble connecting to certain public wifi networks. My phone doesn't have this problem and they both have the same signal (checking in wifi testing app).
What is the strength of the networks? I often get this when the network is (very) weak...
