Before you flash new rom you should wipe data/factory reset (But only if you have custom kernel) then flash your rom.
If you have issues with new rom, do above again and/or try re-flashing.
Also you should give it about 10 mins after system has booted before you attempt to use device, this gives it time for things in background to settle. After 10 mins give it a reboot. This isnt always necessary however its good practice to do so to avoid some issues on some types of roms.

Your sign says sent from LG-p500 blah blah...
Did you did it when it still crashed??
What did you flashed recently? A2SD, new frameworks etc, tell me..
Just reflash CM without wipe.
If it still persists, go here and tell everything about what you did.
And, press thanks to me

Well then, first make a backup
then reflash.
With flash of CM you won't lose data.
But if you deleted apps (wich werent usefull for you) they will come back ofcourse..
I had that too once on OpenOptimus, then 1 or 2 apps got deleted and apps wich should be installed by the update werent...
But do as i say:
1) backup
2) reflash
3) works fine. (apps lost -> go to 4)
If it doesn't work fine, go to 5
4) reboot in recovery -> restore -> advanced restore -> restore data
5) Reboot in recovery, wipe everything / factory reset and reflash
Press thanks again
Hope i helped

Then I would reccommend to flash OpenOptimus GB version.
It's new baseband, but it'll be worth it! thats because of the baseband...
Use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16446575&postcount=4
Read the whole post before posting!
And if you don't want to go to new baseband, flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325386
And maybe I got a fix for your CM problem: flash http://www.multiupload.com/4HS29F5HPX before leaving.
Think of wipe dalvik and cache every time you flash!
You have to wipe everything, cache, data and dalvik cache. If you wipe everything and install the rom (after wiping everything) it will work fine.
Hey guys first of all I have to say that thanks to the good people that are on this forum I flashed my first Custom Rom!
But I'm kinda having some problems on my SGA :/ sometimes my phone just won't receive calls or messages D: I don't know what's wrong :/ everything was fine before I flashed Gingerbread and the Custom Rom, What can I do to solve this?
What I currently do to solve it:
Turn off & on the phone a hundred times (sometimes works)
After that remove battery (sometimes works)
And also I try turning Airplane mode on & off (never works D: )
Any idea about what's happening?
Anyone? D:

Well actually when I was on Froyo I had no problems. This all happened after the whole flashing thing. I'm using WP7 rom by Jinavs.

Did it and re-flashed the rom and everything went fine today in college.
Hi there first thread for me
I was just wondering, I am on stock Samsung ROM but am thinking of installing either Foxhound or Paranoid Android (possibly CM10 when stable supported version is out)
do I need to do a full wipe or can I just wipe cache partition, dalvik cache and fix permissions?
Also out of Foxhound and Paranoid, which would you guys recommend and why? or would you recommend I wait for CM10?
Thanks for all the help guys, this is a great community!
To each his own. Try both and decide yourself. Always recommended to do a full wipe.

thanks very much for your help, I might just try both as you said and then I can make a decision from there
What actually happens if I didnt do a full wipe and just wiped the caches and fixed the permissions?
Full wipe is recommended but always not necessary. Try installing the Rom without a wipe and if you didn't get any fc then leave it as it is, else wipe it. Also fix permission is not required every time.

If you lucky (occasionally), nothing happens.
If you unlucky (most probably) , unpredictable bugs will annoy you to death

thanks guys for all the help I think I have just got to go for it and flash a new rom, just hope it works these things always seem to go wrong for me lol
After flashing a couple of Roms I found my recovery i made of the stock Rom now says android is updating everytime i turn it on.
are using TWRP and wiped Davlec cashe but now restart and upgrading again..
started with about 43 updates and this time after davlesc reset is 80 updates..
Ive only ever seen this when installing Gapps to a new build it does it once..
This recovery never had Gapps on it and shouldnt be doing this?
Ive searched but cant find specific advice on the S3..
Anybody can help?
Thanks..

This is because your cache is being rebuilt on every reboot. Most likely from restoring a stock rom after using custom roms. This is never a good idea. If you need to return to stock you should do it by Odin. Stock roms do not back up/restore properly.
so this only happens after you wipe Dalvik? That's what's supposed to happen
No its been doing it every time i turn phone on for ages.
Just i read somewhere to wipe davlec should fix it.but then doubled the amount of updates after...
anyway i think will re flash rom from odin again should be better.
was just wondering if there was something simple i didnt do..but i guess its cause i came from non stock rom before..
Thanks for answers..
Are you sure that somewhere in twrp settings or anywhere else that you haven't set the device to wipe dalvik on each boot?
Did you delete some odex files from your system/app

This has nothing to do with the issue. The issue is that the delvic cache is being deleted on reboot. A full wipe and reflash should fix him/her right up.

I have had that problem a few times in the past and solved it by doing a mega wipe and then reinstalling rom take a look at this thread >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/tool-mega-wipesuper-wipefactory-t1832326 << (i am not talking about a normal factory reset and wipe it must be a mega wipe ) remember backup everything you need this will totally wipe your phone.
thank you im testing it right now hope it works....
