[Q] Root for Jelly Bean? - Motorola Droid RAZR

I really miss root. I'm in Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Is there any root method yet? Thanks.

You didn't use OTA root keeper

Nope. Only way to keep root is if you backed it up when you were on ICS. Then restore after Jelly Bean. If you didn't do it, you're stuck with no root for now.

Does Vipermod PrimeTime work with Jelly Bean?

I just upgraded to Jelly and would like to unlock and root my tablet. This would be my first time tampering with my tablet. I only have experience rooting my EVO and Rezound following the instructions. So I was wondering if Vipermod works with Jelly bean. Thanks.

hey, unfortunatly neither vipermod nor debugfs is working in JB atm..
if you didnt protect your root with rootkeeper while on ics, youll have to wait for a new root method

[Q] Idea to Downgrade From Jelly Bean to ICS

Hey everyone. So I have installed the OTA Jelly Bean update (4.1.2) on my XT912 and I want to go to ICS so I can have root and maybe try OTA RootKeeper. I know it "can't be possible" to downgrade, but there's one idea I have. In ICS, **I created an "update.zip" file. This was basically a backup of all my things... Can I use "update.zip" to downgrade my phone from Jelly Bean to ICS?** Thanks.

Anyone?? I don't need a real answer. At least a prediction.
My prediction is that it won't work due to the locked bootloader hence the kernel will stay jellybean kernel

Yeah that sounds correct. I just need to wait for a root method I guess... thanks. Hurry up with that root method, ppl!

You can keep waiting. Ill see the s4 and s5 before i see an unlocked bootloader for the razr. By which ppl with razrs will move on to another phone

[Q] Root for JB 4.1.2 but not 4.2.2?

Have I understood everything right that there is a rooting method for Jelly Bean 4.1.2 but not 4.2.2?

I think ya wrong because till now root method is not avail for 4.1.2 (XT910 .eu leak)
Hit the thx button if i helped ya in anyways
If you make it to 4.2.2 it's clear you'll already have root

So this does not work?

As long as you have an xt912 cdma yes that will work
As for your first question if you're jb xt912 then yes root method is available, if you're on jb xt910 en then no there is not a root method available.
4.2.2 is only available if you're rooted
Hope this clears this matter up

Thank you but is that possible with a locked bootloader?
Sorry for the late response, haven't been paying attention to it lately.
