If you need help pm me and I will walk you through. Oh and I think you posted in the wrong forum.

Oh sorry I didn't was to crowd the forum.
To fix this problem you have to do the following:
1) Download 4EXT Recovery (my choice): http://www.4ext.net/ddl/pyramid/recovery.zip
2) Unzip the file, and copy the recovery.img into you ADB/Fastboot or Android SDK folder.
3) Put the phone into bootloader mode, put in the following command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Click to collapse
4) Reboot phone into recovery, and you should have 4EXT Recovery running.
5) Flash SuperSU, and you will be rooted

follow the guide !

Hi,
My vibrant is on official 2.2. I hate it because it lags too much.....so i want to try some roms out here.....but the problem is i cant seem to gain confidence in doing so.
So request you guys to please provide me a step by step guide what i am required to do in order to make this hw perform as it should. I dont have root also in my phone.
Lucky for you, multiple step by step guides exist. Search for the vibrant bible. Everything you could need to know.

5. power off your phone , hold vol up vol down and power boot the phone once you see blue stuff press install packages this will take u in clock work
5.once in new menu click advance and nandroid backuip !
7. from there go to install zip
7. click
8.patience its whiping your data hope you backed up everything at this point !

10. give 10 min at first boot once you restart your phone .
enjoy your phone
Im new to all this myself but I think you skipped the gain root access step. To the op...look in the Vibrant Q+A forums which this thread now resides in and one of the sticky threads at the top should say something like "Noob guide to flashing roms, gaining root .....etc". This is the step by step guide I think you are looking for.
This should get you started. It did me and my next step is to actually flash the rom....once I get the confidence.

[Q] CWM signature verification failure

Hi, I am obviously very new considering this is my first post. I have done many searches to try to fix this as well. I have a gs2 with kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100UHKG7. Build # is GINGERBREAD.UHKG7. I rooted my phone via ODIN and corresponding cf-root. I am simply trying to install cm7 or another custom ROM but when i boot into CWM i get the signature verfication failure. I have now learned i should not use ROM manger to install roms apprently but i wasnt sure how to push them to the sd card or if it is already there since i downloaded via ROM manager. If someone could tell me how to fix signature issue since it seems easier to intall via ROM manger or just tell me how to go about it another way (CWM manually)
Thanks for putting up with my noobness
q/a section is here
Connect the phone to a usb cable and copy the rom onto the phone, boot into cwm recovery by pressing vol+up/home/power button when its off and select install zip from sd card and look for the rom that you copied over.
Under the recovery menu, go to advanced, and turn signature verification off. Is easy...

Moving to Q&A

Hanson2000 Toolkit help

To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.
I apologize in advance but I've had my Amaze for about a year now and finally decided to root. I've been to hanson2000's page and tried to follow the directions but i'm a little confused. When I get to the point on the toolkit where it tells me to get a token ID, I click on the button and I get the same information on the command line that is shown on his video ending with "device not found."
Stupid question time: How do I get this token ID? My assumption was from HTV Dev, but I didn't want to do anything out of sequence (like unlocking my bootloader). Also, if I have placed this question in the wrong forum....again my apologies. I tried to post in the developers forum but the not above prevented me from doing so.
Also, in reading through the Amaze Q&A (as directed) I saw this posted dated January 2012;
Q - How do I root my device / install clockworkmod recovery / install a custom ROM?
A - Follow Binary's thread and make sure you READ IT. If you don't, Binary will put you on his sh*t list! http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1426377
Is this root still an option? If so, which would be easier for a n00b? This is only my second time rooting and my previous phone was a EVO.
Thanks in advance.

I'll try that. Other tips? I need to save everything to my SD before unlocking bootloader correct?
save/backup your important info like contacts, sms, etc. to your sd, it'll erase everything. The procedure on htcdev is pretty straightforward, and once you have your bootloader unlocked, the rest should be easy. You can flash a recovery through rom manager if you like clockworkmod, or through the app with my personal favourite 4ext.

Thanks. Thought I read somewhere that I don't need to install clockworkmod. Do I need to install a rom manager?
clockworkmod is the recovery, and 'rom manager' is the app that installs it. Or, if you're familiar with flashing through command prompt you can flash a recovery image through that.
4ext is better though, just download the app and it will flash your recovery
I got my token ID. The video tells me to DL the file (which I've done) and then save to a file that reads unlock code.txt (i've found that folder)....problem is, when I DL, windows 7 is can't open the file because it is looking for a program to use it with.
Again, sorry for the seemingly simple questions...I'm just trying to do the right the first time.
thanks in advance.
error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin'
Figured out the previous, but i'm not sure why i am experiencing the above....
Any suggestions?

[Flashing][recovery] 4ext recovery + instructions

this guide is for peole who jus cant get s-off or just need the 4ext recovery but cant get it because of bootloops etc
this gude also assumes u have installed have android sdk to the root of your computers C: driv
1. Head to http://www.htcdev.com/ruu/PG8610000_...2fs_unlock.exe
2. Follow the steps to unlock your device. Then, reboot into Fastboot.
(by pressing the power button on your phone and you should see Fastboot USB. If you don't, just press the power button when Fastboot is highlighted.)
it's time to push a recovery.img.
1. Download http://animeondroid.host22.com/recovery.img = Thanks 4ext team.
2. Once that is downloaded, place the recovery.img into your adb location (at C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools).
Now if you're not using a 64-bit OS then you won't need the ' (x86).'
3. Okay. once the .img is in there then use the command prompt.
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
4. Press Enter. This will change the directory to your adb location.
5. Now power your phone into fastboot in the bootloader once again. Just hook your phone up to the usb and then go into the bootloader and press power after it loads. You should see Fastboot USB.
6. Type in:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If you're recovery img isn't named this, then rename it to recovery.img, it's easiest ^>^
7. Then hit enter and the phone will be flashed with the recovery.
8.Boot into recovery and enable smartflash so tht even though youre s-on you can flash any rom/kernal
EDIT: tell the recovery that your device is actually s-on by turning smart flash on
This is done when you install recovery and answer the question that you are s-on with "yes"
You can also change that setting later on via RecoveryControl -> Recovery settings, or by editing 4ext.prop manually
Recovery will autodetect any changes done to "boot" and only attempt to flash your boot partition if it was really changed
for me incase of updates or broken inks
Also rawr im a dinosaur tht is all XD
I just bought the app lol

This thread belongs over in the E3D General Forum along with mpgrimm2's guide that includes the same information and more in this post.
Also note that he links directly to th 4EXT website for the download of that recovery instead of some third party site. The recovery.img file for 4EXT is also available in the OP of the thread for that recovery here on the E3D Development Forum.

No, there is a reason for the sticky that says to read first before posting in the development thread. This is just a guide that belongs in "general" unless you add something that you developed yourself. No one is trying to flame you, its just crazy how many people post here and they did not dev anything.

Hi,
I tried to flash your 4ext file over my cwm but now neither works. If I choose RECOVERY in the fastboot I only get the greenHTC onwhite.
HOW CAN I REPAIR MY RECOVERY to either of the two?
Is there some way to download a whole ics stock rom that I could either run from bootloader or from cmd?
Thank you all.

You can get the recovery.img version of 4EXT Recovery in the downloads section of the OP for the CDMA thread, but it should work on GSM models as well.

If your computer can recognize it, run the RUU from the HTC site, there are plenty of threads on it, I think you should be okay. Other than that without a nandroid, not sure what else you can do.

Heyo, good luck with your phone! It's not bricked, just flash the RUU and you'll be good to go. But, remember this is the Development section, so before someone else lays into you for it, remember questions go in the Q/A section. Good luck!
Always make a back up bro, rule of thumb

Why is this here Lol
From my One while peeking in your window
wrong section. but try to get twrp flashed on it and see if it flashes. Always keep a backup incase something like this or at least another rom to flash
