where to download xxlsj modem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I pretty much disliked xxlsj because of the lockscreen freeze and some other minor bugs. Thing is the xxlaj moden worked awesome, and i`d like like to keep that. Is there anywhere where i can download this modem so as to flash it on my current rom ?

The modem of the XXLSJ firmware is XXLS6. You can download the modem here

Okay then:
JB bugs & workarounds.
Screen Lock Solution.
Download the JB leak package so you can get the modem, or you might want to reconsider.
I've not personally experienced any of these bugs from JB. Am I not lucky now?

[Q] XXKH3 ICS Update?

I have the following Galaxy s2:
PDA: XXKH3| Modem/phone: XXKH3| CSC: OXAKH3
Rooted and Siyah Kernel.
I was wondering if there is a way to get ICS update through Samsung Kies (when I plug the phone in it keeps telling me it's up to date)?
I want to keep all my setting and data.
I know it's possible to do it through Odin but all my apps and data will be erased
If there is no way to update using Kies what is the best/latest stock ICS firmware available now? Which one will get the latest updates first?
you can backup your apps and data using Titanium backup and flash a Custom ICS rom from CWM
latest stock is XWLP9 and reported very stable...you can get it from here Rooted and CWM flashable : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292825
don't really want to keep backing up the app every time there is an update. I just want to go back to stock...

You answered it your self, custom ROM......
Stock is buggy. Dxlp9 is good
I kind of want to go completely stock as I mentioned so when new version of Android comes out I can just update using Kies. Don't really want to deal with all backup and restores.
FYI, there is no guarantee a Kies update won't screw up either though. Always a good idea to back up before an upgrade, be it a Kies update, or an Odin flash. And if you're going from stock to stock with an Odin flash, that won't wipe your phone anyways. (still a good idea to wipe anyways, though...)

no wifi since new JB leak

ever since i flashed the latest version of the Jb leak i have no wifi, any ideas on how to fix this?
It's impossible to fix I'm afraid. Your phone is now practically bricked.
Just kidding, flash a stock based sammy ics rom and you'll be good to go.

Me too, no WiFi in cm 9 or cm 10.
It works only in stock Rom. (4.0.4 or in leaked Rom)
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
i flashed cm10 from stock 4.0.4 and wifi is perfectly fine
Sent from my GT-I9300
I used cm 10 without problem.
It happened after flashed the leaked Rom

Yes its a known issue. Flashing the leaked sammy JB rom seems to kill wifi in a funny way. Flash a sammy stock ics rom (or custom rom eg. wanam or omega) and your wifi will be fixed. You can then proceed to install JB AOSP or CM10 or whatever.

[Q]About custom ROM's based in 4.1.2

Hello,
I've been frequently checking the web for the official JB update and everything i've always have read is that it will be released soon, not OTA yet so I'm going a bit desperated about having JB on my s2. I'm actually on 4.0.4 official (yeah, the brick evil kernel) and I'm pretty happy with it but I'm very curious about all those 4.1.2 custom ROM's roaming around the net.
What's your advice for this ROM's? Are they worthy to install them at this point in my device? Are they fully working with all the JB functions? Or at this point should I wait for the official ROM and give chance the community to work in ROM's based on it?
Greetings, any advice/hint will be much apprecciated.

Fully working now, yes.
Now go out and do some reading so you can take your pick.

Well regardless of what above poster says, no they are not fully working. However the bugs that are present are not serious and most people will not come across them.
However I would HIGHLY recommend that if you flash the leaked stock rom or a custom one based on it you will need to flash Joboo kernel as it fixes the most annoying bug which is the lock screen delay which is really bloody annoying. It also increases battery life as Philz kernel is bad for this. You can also freeze non-needed stock apps to increase life more.
By the way incase you didnt know, since you have 4.0.4 stock you dont need to worry about the brick bug if you simply flash a custom kernel like Siyah instead of keeping stock.
Okay, they are not fully working I guess. I can always be wrong.
Still, reading time.

Yeah, actually I did know that I could flash Siyah to avoid the brick risk but I just wanted to do it all at the same time, I mean, root -> flash Siyah ->jump to another custom ROM. That's why my question about waiting for stock 4.1.2 for more stable ROM's before flashing and rooting :victory:

You dont need to "root" and then flash Siyah, Siyah gives you root.
If coming from stock rom/kernel all you need to do is....
Flashing custom rom:
Flash Siyah kernel via ODIN
Reboot into custom recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Flash rom zip (and gapps if using CM based rom)
Reboot device.
Note that flashing a custom rom will come with its own kernel so it replaces Siyah.
Flashing Stock Rom:
Flash stock rom via ODIN
Flash compatible custom kernel
Note: If you using leaked JB you should use nothing but the Joboo kernel. If flashing GB or ICS rom you should use Siyah.

thank you shy
i got lost in searching ... so please could you help me out !!?
Just type for modems .......im on mobile and working so i can't link you at the moment .... Try looking for ucmb4 modem for our i717
my addiction:Flashing.
I know what they say about assuming, so hopefully it only takes place on your part here, but if you're assuming newer = better, you're very wrong. If you're on ICS, you aren't going to net any improvement by going to a JB modem. I know, without a doubt, ICS modems on stock JB cause major problems, so they really are software dependent. On top of that, if you're going it hoping to increase data with another (not AT&T) provider, you're picking a horrible modem to try that with. UCMB4 is the crowned ICS king of reception & data, and the blaze modems are a close second.
Modems are independent of versions so flash any modem you want.

Running a Bell JB modem file over JB Sandwich rom (ICS based) and it runs fine so far

Ril for 4.2.2

Hey guys.... I know that modem depends on which country/network you are etc.....
But for 4.2.2 (valilla rootbox) has anyone the ril files? Cause Probably I have messed it with not-so compatible and have large amount of battery drain if I have data on.... I saw somewhere something about openril etc but wasn't able to find anything more.....
Any help is acceptable
Thanks...
Open ril is what cm put into there rom so everyone followed. Don't change the ril as this will break calls/texs/data. I find that 4.1 has better battery on rootbox. Try that and see what you think
Look in the first few (say 5) posts of the unofficial slimbean thread by fusionjack. There you will find a link to a RIL /radio cleaner by codeworkx. That will clean any unwanted nasties and flash XXLS8 modem. Definitely worth flashing if you think your RIL is messed with.

thanks a lot guys... I will follow your hints
I know that probably 4.1 (if it is based on 4.1.2) should have better battery but I am not sure it will have all the toggles I amused to right now... We shall see
