the root is S3V3N_Root ,b ut the flash tools recognizes the two as .599
tried, seemed to work but no root ...
I got root. what I did was the same procedure as rooting .54
I used "Root with Restore by Bin4ry v17".
after successfully rooting on .599, re-install the .75 kernel, check all exclude system, baseband, fota and partition. except for the kernel. then un-check wipe data, cache and apps log..
it worked for me so it should work on yours too.

I didn't uncheck wipe data cache and apps log, It says I got root and seems to work now, only problem I have is when I want to change permissions to files, chmod doesn't work, I can only change permissions to files 1 by 1 in root browser
When I put the 599 kernel on 75 firmware the phone doesn't work. I can only see de Xperia booting logo and then the notification bar.
staff was trying to help me root FlashTool by selecting the second option but when I run it restarts, and this reboot is not flash but some bug in my xperia P. Please help me out :crying::crying:

This is known possible side effect. You should proceed and everything should be ok at the end.
After repairing phone to 6.0.B.544 and then that crashed I flashed .75 and flashed the .599 kernel in flashtool and followed its instructions better. B1inary tool worked and then flashed the final part and now it works. lets see how long before I have to do the whole process again.
-- this happen because cwm corrupted the loadheader or watever.
There is already a root method included in the sticky and there is no link provided.

Sit down, take a deep breath, open google.com and ask it questions. You will be amazed what you can learn there. Some links will even bring you here, where all these have been explained, some time ago.
Having problems on the hassle of downgrading and upgrading just to root your phone that has a locked bootloader?
Here it is the solution for rooting without dowgrading
Requirement:
1. Flashtool - http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1349526467000
2. ST15i Latest ICS Firmware: (You can use your own FTF file of 4.1.B.0.587 of ST15i, the one below is PH Firmware)
ST15i 4.1.B.0.587 PH Firmware
3. ST15i Kernel for the latest Firmware:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?r11d989a42y1ozc
4. ST18i Rootable Kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?16uxddet7r0x8i0
5. SUS or PC Companion for Flash drivers
6. Rooting toolkit:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/mzM0gROA/DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-RO.html?refurl=d1url
Instruction:
1. Install flashtool
2. Extract the 3 zip files containing the latest PH firmware for ST15i on C:\Flashtool\Firmwares\
3. Copy ST18i kernel at ST15i kernel on C:\Flashtool\Firmwares
4. Flash the firmware using flashtool
5. Go through the initial setup process and turn on Debugging mode and Installation from Unknown resources. This is important.
Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"
Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging
Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode
Click to collapse
6. Now turn off the phone and this time flash ST18i kernel. Yes ST18i and not ST15i.
7. Now turn on the phone and wait for about 1-2minutes. Yes it will stay on black screen. That's normal.
8. Now connect your phone on PC. Turn off your antivirus temporarily and extract the rooting toolkit and run "runme.bat"(The phone is still black screen and that's normal )
9. Follow the onscreen instruction Allow the phone to reboot and when it is done, wait for 1 minute to be sure.
10. Disconnect the phone and remove the battery and reinsert it again.
11. Run flashtool and this tim flash the ST15i firmware.
12. Turn on the phone and enjoy your rooted ST15i.

You will loose all data on phone!
Okay here you go:
1. Unlock your bootloader. How yo do this is in my guide, but remember it will void your warranty
2. Install Flashtool and all the drivers from the flashtool installation folder for all devices and modes.
3. Download FXP cm10 (Android 4.1.2 - mostly working) or cm10.1 Alpha (4.2.1 - many things not working, for more details see the thread by shufuking) and copy the rom zip to the sdcard of your phone.
Download the Google apps (gapps) for jelly bean 4.1 or 4.2 (depending on which rom you choose) and copy it to sdcard too.
4. Extract the zip on your PC, copy the boot.img to a folder named "kernels" (that you have to create in the Flashtool folder).
Launch Flashtool, click on the flash -> fastboot mode.
5. Click "reboot into fastboot mode" or shut down the phone, wait 10 seconds, hold volume up and while holding volume up connect the usb to pc. Now the blue led lights up
6. "Select kernel to flash" and select the boot.img in kernels folder.
7. Wait until the image is flashed, now unplug you phone.
8. Power on phone and while it's powering on press volume down again and again to get in clockworkmod recovery (cwm)
9. Select wipe data/factory reset (you navigate with the volume keys and select with the home button) and wipe cache.
10. Go to advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
11. Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip -> choose the rom zip and install it
12. Install zip from sdcard -> choose the gapps
13. Now reboot the phone and enjoy
That's it, for any other questions just ask :good:

hi, a quick guide how to revert from kitkat on xperia ray, should be about the same for most xperia 2011 devices.
if you managed to get to kitkat you will manage to understand this quick guide
pre requirements
1) flashtool
2) original full ics tft file of .587
3) eroot
3) cm10.zip (this what i used to revert to)
1) go to fastboot mode
2) in flashtool select flashmode, select that tft file, and be sure to select no final verification!!!
* you can finish here if you want stock rom
3) let ics load, then enable:
a) develop option->usb debugging
b) xperia-> usb method->msc
c) security-> allow from unknown sources
4) run eroot (one click method) to root your device
5) install x-parts from google play and install cwm recovery
* you can finish here if you want stock rom+root+recovery
6) reboot to fastboot and instal boot.img from the custom rom!!!
7) reboot to recovery and install zip

It is not necessary to flash stock ftf file. Usually when I want to downgrade from cm11, I just flash the respective kernel and do the required wipes (system, data, cache and dalvik cache) and then flash the rom. This method certainly works for me and much easier than always flashing stock ftf.

hi, a quick guide how to revert from kitkat on xperia ray, should be about the same for most xperia 2011 devices.[...]

3)a) develop option->usb debugging
b) xperia-> usb method->msc
c) security-> allow from unknown sources
4) run eroot (one click method) to root your device
5) install x-parts from google play and install cwm recovery
those steps are really useless if u switch to a custom rom, bcuz
for a) b) c) u dont need this to enter fastboot. only usb debugging may should be needed for flashtool. but i use flashtool like this: prepare all files till it says ''connect device'' then i connect (powered off) device to flashtool AT LEAST. it works on stock ics without ticked usb debugging -for me-
4) & 5) really useless mostly any custom rom comes prerooted. just a waste of time but maybe u add it below ''*finish here if u want stock.ics'' then u can write it for those who want CWM & root on STOCK.ics
anyway thx for ur effort in making this, im sure it helps many , i just also wanna help so dont take this as a complainment
peace
i wrote this after trying to downgrade and failed with other methods.
flash rom from recovery needed older kernel
flashed kernel but than couldnt get to recovery (might flashed wrong kernel though) was stuck on bootloop.
so i wrote this as a fool proof method, would work for many other cases if you have software problems.
Nice guide yes you may add "*finish here if you want rooted stock ICS & cwm" between 5 & 6.

my phone is xperia z2 d6502 lollipop 23.1.A.0.726 Locked bootloader
i followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/stock-d6502-23-1-0-726-complete-guide-t3085893
to do rooting for the phone
but after i flashed the 5. 17.1.2.A.0.314 ftf firmware file for d6502
it can't open, just repeated boot loop
what can i do?
1. First we need to setup our computer with all the pre required tools and drivers.
So, install the adb-setup-1.4.2.exe
2. Install the flashtool
3. Go to the flashtool installation directory and, go to drivers folder (C:\Flashtool\drivers by default).
Double click on Flashtool-drivers.exe and install the required Z2 drivers.
4. Now, copy the 17.1.2.A.0.314 ftf file into, C:\Flashtool\firmwares folder
4.1 Enable debugging mode in mobile and enable unknown sources installation
4.1.1. To enable debugging mode in your phone, tap on build number ( Settings->About Phone-> Build number) continuously for 7 times
4.1.2. To enable unknown sources installation, go to Setting-> security and enable it
5. Copy the flashable.zip to your external sd card and remember the location, where its been copied. And, Switch off your phone
6. Open flashtools from Computer's menu
7. Now, click on the lightning symbol on top left of flashtool
7.1. Select flash mode
8. Now select the .314 firmware, and if u don't want your data are deleted, uncheck the APPSLOG, CACHE and DATA under wipe section
9. Click on flash (Bottom Right corner) and wait until it asks you to connect the phone.
10. Now, press the volume down button and connect the phone, the above dialog box disappears and, flashing will be started.
11. Once flash is done, switch on your phone. (Close the flashtool)

this is all what i did
and i put the flashable.zip in internal storage
