mate at least go some research before making tutorials. CM9 recommends baseband .72 they even uploaded small .ftf file on FXP's server for easy download.
altho, .64 baseband will work. i am not specialist to know whats different between .72 and .64

Xperia P windows dirvers along with ones for fastboot and flashtool are included in the Flashtool instalation package (try 0.9.10.1 version or higher). After installing flashtool, go to the flashtool/driver directory, run flashtool-drivers.exe and when prompted, check Xperia P, Xperia U, and Xperia sola drivers, Fastboot drivers and Flashtool drivers (last two are all the way down in the list)
Dwnload links are dead update it asap

[GUIDE][JAN-22-2013] Rooting 4.1.B.0.587 ICS ST15i without downgrade for Stock kernel

Having problems on the hassle of downgrading and upgrading just to root your phone that has a locked bootloader?
Here it is the solution for rooting without dowgrading
Requirement:
1. Flashtool - http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1349526467000
2. ST15i Latest ICS Firmware: (You can use your own FTF file of 4.1.B.0.587 of ST15i, the one below is PH Firmware)
ST15i 4.1.B.0.587 PH Firmware
3. ST15i Kernel for the latest Firmware:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?r11d989a42y1ozc
4. ST18i Rootable Kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?16uxddet7r0x8i0
5. SUS or PC Companion for Flash drivers
6. Rooting toolkit:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/mzM0gROA/DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-RO.html?refurl=d1url
Instruction:
1. Install flashtool
2. Extract the 3 zip files containing the latest PH firmware for ST15i on C:\Flashtool\Firmwares\
3. Copy ST18i kernel at ST15i kernel on C:\Flashtool\Firmwares
4. Flash the firmware using flashtool
5. Go through the initial setup process and turn on Debugging mode and Installation from Unknown resources. This is important.
Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"
Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging
Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode
Click to collapse
6. Now turn off the phone and this time flash ST18i kernel. Yes ST18i and not ST15i.
7. Now turn on the phone and wait for about 1-2minutes. Yes it will stay on black screen. That's normal.
8. Now connect your phone on PC. Turn off your antivirus temporarily and extract the rooting toolkit and run "runme.bat"(The phone is still black screen and that's normal )
9. Follow the onscreen instruction Allow the phone to reboot and when it is done, wait for 1 minute to be sure.
10. Disconnect the phone and remove the battery and reinsert it again.
11. Run flashtool and this tim flash the ST15i firmware.
12. Turn on the phone and enjoy your rooted ST15i.

You will loose all data on phone!
Okay here you go:
1. Unlock your bootloader. How yo do this is in my guide, but remember it will void your warranty
2. Install Flashtool and all the drivers from the flashtool installation folder for all devices and modes.
3. Download FXP cm10 (Android 4.1.2 - mostly working) or cm10.1 Alpha (4.2.1 - many things not working, for more details see the thread by shufuking) and copy the rom zip to the sdcard of your phone.
Download the Google apps (gapps) for jelly bean 4.1 or 4.2 (depending on which rom you choose) and copy it to sdcard too.
4. Extract the zip on your PC, copy the boot.img to a folder named "kernels" (that you have to create in the Flashtool folder).
Launch Flashtool, click on the flash -> fastboot mode.
5. Click "reboot into fastboot mode" or shut down the phone, wait 10 seconds, hold volume up and while holding volume up connect the usb to pc. Now the blue led lights up
6. "Select kernel to flash" and select the boot.img in kernels folder.
7. Wait until the image is flashed, now unplug you phone.
8. Power on phone and while it's powering on press volume down again and again to get in clockworkmod recovery (cwm)
9. Select wipe data/factory reset (you navigate with the volume keys and select with the home button) and wipe cache.
10. Go to advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
11. Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip -> choose the rom zip and install it
12. Install zip from sdcard -> choose the gapps
13. Now reboot the phone and enjoy
That's it, for any other questions just ask :good:
Thanks Worked Perfectly

Xperia U bootloop when trying to install CM9

Hi,
after reading for a few weeks I decided to unlock the bootloader of my st25i, flash CWM and afterwards CM 9.1 (FXP 149).
1) I successfully unlocked the bootloader
2) I used fastboot to flash boot.img from CM9 ZIP (FXP 149 kumquat)
3) Unfortunately I forgot to copy the ROM zip-file to the flash memory of my phone.
4) At first I was still able to start the phone with ICS stock rom, but no WiFi was working and no SIM was found anymore and no USB-Masstorage nor PC-Companion regognized phone = no possibility to get zip-file with rom on phone
5) I reflashed boot.img via fastboot and now I am stuck in a boot-loop.
6) current status: When starting the phone it hangs at Xperia-logo; before comes the free xperia logo; I can enter fastboot-mode and I can enter CWM; I cannot get into flashmode (green light goes of after a few seconds)
How can I get my phone working again?
Download official ics ftf from development section of ur xperia
Download flashtool
Install flashtool
Go to c/flashtool/drivers
Install drivers for ur xperia
Now switch of ur phone keep it aside
Go to flashtool
Click thunder icon
Select flashmode
Select ftf
Check no final verification
Check exclude ta
Click flash\start
Now it will ask u to connect ur phone in flashmode
Press the volume down button, keep it pressed and connect to usb
U r done wait for flashing
Reinstall fxp149 properly
Sent from my ST25i using Tapatalk 2
Thank you, I tried that before without checking the two additions you wrote in the flashtool. Now the flash worked and I could flash gingerbread and go then to CM9.
Thank you!

tried, seemed to work but no root ...
I got root. what I did was the same procedure as rooting .54
I used "Root with Restore by Bin4ry v17".
after successfully rooting on .599, re-install the .75 kernel, check all exclude system, baseband, fota and partition. except for the kernel. then un-check wipe data, cache and apps log..
it worked for me so it should work on yours too.

Yea but you don't use .75 kernel so... The point is to root and use 75 kernel which is better than 559

This is known possible side effect. You should proceed and everything should be ok at the end.
After repairing phone to 6.0.B.544 and then that crashed I flashed .75 and flashed the .599 kernel in flashtool and followed its instructions better. B1inary tool worked and then flashed the final part and now it works. lets see how long before I have to do the whole process again.

There is already a root method included in the sticky and there is no link provided.

[How-To] Fix Broken Touchscreen of xperia 2011 mdpi devices [UPDATED-18.07.13]

This tutorial is on how to recover the touch screen of your sony xperia 2011 mdpi device. I didn't find out any of these methods, I've just included all links and methods here to have one thread with everything in, because in Q&A are so many threads on this topic and all the people asking the same questions!
First of all:
You need Flashtool installed and you should have installed all the drivers from flashtool folder -> drivers. For all methods where you have to flash a custom kernel you need an unlocked bootloader. Just remember that
Fix 1: By Flashing Xperia Active Rom: (Credits: xshanep19; here; discussing thread by officiallysonyrebel here)
Steps:
1. Download xperia active stock rom for gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.42-(CE)
2. Place it in flashtool folder -> firmwares
3. Lauch flashtool
4. Click the flash -> flashmode -> select the active ftf -> click okay
5. Shut down phone -> wait 15 seconds -> hold volume down -> while holding volume down connect it to your pc
6. Wait until flashing has ended
7. Unplug phone an start it (hope it starts)
8. Turn phone off -> connect in flashmode like before -> flash the firmware for your device
9. Boot up and hope the touch will work again
Fix 2: By Installing Hybrom: (Credits: n_tienloi ; here)
Steps:
1. Download CM10 kernel or rage kernel
2. Flash the kernel
3. Flash Ultimate HD 2.0.2 rom and choose the one for active
4. Turn phone on and wait 5 minutes (phone won't boot up because it's in a bootloop)
5. Flash Ultimate HD 2.0.2 again, but choose YOUR device
6. Don't turn your phone on, just pull the battery
7. Flash the stock rom for your device using flashtool
Fix 3: By Installing wrong rom again and flash stock rom: (Credits: scorpion 13; here)
Steps:
1. Flash your devices gb 4.0.2.A.0.62 rom
2. Flash rage kernel -> boot in cwm
3. Flash the wrong rom again
4. Reboot -> if it's not booting or in a bootloop pull battery
5. Flash your device's stock rom with flashtool again
Fix 4: By Flashing Hybrom_v10: (Credits: javad01; here)
Steps:
1. Flash your device's stock gingerbread rom (4.0.2.A.0.62) with flashtool
2. Flash a custom kernel with cwm you like (e.g. rage kernel)
3. Flash Hybrom v10 for mini pro
4. Boot the rom
5. If it's not booting and having a bootloop pull battery
6. Flash stock rom again with flashtool
Fix 5: By Installing Cyanogenmod 9/10: (Credits: chotu222 ; here)
Steps:
1. Download Cyanogenmod 9 or Cyanogenmod 10
2. Put it on your sdcard
3. wipe everything in cwm
4. Flash Cyanogenmod

7. Reboot and touchscreen should work
(8. Flash stock sony rom using flashtool)
Fix 7: By flashing Ultimate HD 2.0.2 rom: (Credits: dhallbhoo ; here)
Steps:

4. Reboot (don't pull the battery, boot it. If it's no booting for nearly 3 minutes, pull battery and go on)
5. Flash the stock firmware for your device
6. Touch should work now!
Fix 10: By modifying the touchscreen files: (Credits: bangladeshi ; here)
Steps:
Please follow the steps in the guide. It's best to use the tutorial here. It's better reading it there and using the screenshots for more help instead of just reading the steps here

Then I tried a third fix

I flashed ROM ultimate hd xperia 2.0.2, during installation I chose xperia active. Phone turned on, but it did not work and the home button qwerty keyboard. Then I have uploaded ultimate hd, I chose xperia mini pro, then I flashed using flashtool stock 4.0.4, but touch did not work. What can you do to get the phone working?

Re: [How-To] Fix Broken Touchscreen of xperia 2011 mdpi devices
I managed to fix my touchscreen like two weeks back after playing flash rom flash rom for half the day and now I see this thread lol.....
Device: WT19i
Rom: Zelly Cream 2.0 [MDPI]
Kernel : Lupas v3
Found a "workaround" for sk17i devices
Hi all,
After trying every provided solution on this board without any real progress or even success, i found a little trick to get both touchscreen and h/w keyboard working on my SK17i.
You need for that any custom rom with a aroma installer, and the corresponding file provided from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690889 thanks to ameer1234567890 for sharing those files, and kernel according to the firmware you want to install
1. Install Kernel (for me it was rage kernel)
2. Install via CWM the firmware you want (has to be with an aroma installer) (for me it was Zelly Cream)
3. Choose in aroma st17i instead of sk17i
4. Reboot after installation completed..
5. Wait until phone is fully present. touchscreen should now work but h/w keyboard not
5. Reboot again into CWM install "keymap_for_pro_XXXX.zip
6. Reboot phone again.. Now keyboard an touchscreen should be working. Also options for h/w keyboard should appear now.
Good luck,
I had this "bricked" touch for 6 weeks..
But now..
After trying all day this is my conclusion that ROM with aroma have come drivers in Active ROM that fixes this problem. anyone developer wanna look into it?
Fixed it
this one worked on mine
