Hello everyone.
A question has arised, I was wondering if it would be possible to use a USB DAC device on our RAZR. Is this possible in any way? Can the RAZR output digital audio via the micro USB?
Thanks everyone beforehand, this is a great community, which has been of great support ever since I got my first HTC Hero.
Best regards.

I bought the HTC Headset SC 200, and connected it to my lovely HTC HD. Sadly, my HTC HD don't want it (error message).
I searched on Web after an USB driver for the HTC HD but didn't found it.
Is there a solution ? Could you help me please ?
Thanks
There's no solution as of yet, as far as I know. The driver you are talking about won't help.
headsets
I use a
Motorola H700 for phone function and
Motorola S9 for music and video
without any problem until today.
Best regards

I agree. My understanding is there is no possible audio out of the USB connector for the HD.
I was curious as I have the "old" HTC cradles for the Touch Pro in use with my HD. I wanted to use the audio out on the cradle to feed my hifi but after checking in XDA and elsewhere it seems the HD has no audio out in the USB (and no TV out).

Hi,
I am new to the forum as well as i am new to HTC. i bought the USB wired headset and the conveter and it didn't work however; one of my friend has the HTC touch HD and the same headset i bought and the converter and they are working perfectly. Once he upgraded the ROM with a cooked one, the headset stopped working and he started receiving the same error message "the device doesn't support USB headset".
it seems that the original ROM contains a certain driver for the USB headsets.

I have a cooked rom and it doesn't work.
My HD has to get a cooked ROM because I need sim unlock.
what a shame!
Hmm...i have also bought usb headset.
With the same message "the device doesn't support USB headset"
And i have google it but no answear
it's extUSB not usb
extusb == usb with extra htc audio connectors
usb is a digital serial interface which does not support audio
and a real usb headset would be an usb soundcard which would require
usbHost on the devices part something which precious few pda's support
blackstone not being one of those
BUMP
Anyone has solution for this? Is it a software problem, rom problem, or hardware problem?
I'm facing this thus if nothing helps I'll havta send the thing back.

short answer: No it won't work.
as far as I know from google, HD doesn't send audio to extusb, but just to 3.5 mm jack.
I bought an usb adapter from ebay and i made a complain to get full refund.

Hello everybody,
I know that the scene is working really hard making and porting ROMS for the NT, now that CM7 (ALPHA) is out... I'm curious if is a CHANCE or light in the future to use a micro USB/HDMI output to be able to connect the tablet to a HD TV using MHL.
PS: Is the CM7 KERNEL capable of mounting or recognize keyboards, gamepads etc etc with micro USB port.

I'm pretty sure that video output would require some hardware support, soas far as I know that won't be possible.
I don't know about using the USB for external devices, but if they ever figure out the "magic number" it should be possible via Bluetooth.

MHL is pretty cool .But AFAIK Nook does not have a HDMI out function. B&N would've advertised the **** out of this feature , coz it would have been a great advertising feature .IIRC most 7" tabs lack video output .
USB OTG has not been described as a feature and seems very unlikely .
If the bluetooth module (present but disabled) is unlocked and drivers installed , then BT keyboards, gamepads possible in the distant future .
Hav fun

It is possible to pipe the display signal with software plugin and rebuild in PC via normal USB connector. It works in PSP.
Can someone send me the internal zip for cm7 please

This would be awesome.
I've read the thread about enabling USB Host through a hardware mod of a powered USB hub, but I am hoping the Atrix is able to accomplish USB host mode via software hack? From what I understand, it is an ICS feature but requires kernel level support, so am I stuck without it before Motorola releases official ICS for Atrix? It hasn't worked with CM9 or 2.3.6 Blur ROMs.
Separately, I am looking for any webtop installs that have worked with this...stock webtop didn't enable digital audio out via USB.
FYI, I am looking forward to this to use my USB-powered Digital-to-Analog Converter and headphone amplifier (Fiio e7) with my Audio Technica ATH-M50 studio monitors. The audio signal out of the analog jack is not quite sufficient.
Any help my Atrix brethren?
Any help?

The atrix supports USB host even with the stock kernel. There are 2 things you should consider though.
1. The ARM devices need a charge on the USB line to go into host mode, so a software solution is highly improbable
2. You need a kernel or kernel modules for your USB audio stick to work properly in addition to some also, or any other mixer that supports picking the output.
Wow, so not even with an OTG cable? It doesn't even need to install drivers, was hoping this would be workable. Thanks for your insight.

The drivers are there, but you need the signal on the usb which you can get through an otg +powered usb hub. It works fine than. You can use the hd dock instead of this though, its way less messy that way.
Thank you for your explanation, looks like I will need to wait to see what motorola puts out with the ics update.

Hi everybody, I wanted to ask which method had less power-consuption. E.G. for a keyboard..is for the battery better to buy the one that connects via usb otg or the one via bluetooth?
Hello,
First off, I hope that this is in the correct forum. If not, I apologize in advance.
I am looking to buy an Xperia Z2 tablet today. I want to use the PS4 remote play feature, but I want to hook the tablet up to me HDTV via HDMI. I also would like to use an ethernet adapter, so I can get smoother gameplay when on a network.
Am I able to use an OTG Y cable to achieve this? I have a mini-USB to HDMI adapter and I have a USB 3.0 x 3 + Gigiabyte etherent hub. Is there anyone that has any experience with this or, perhaps, point me in the right direction?
Thank you in advance for all of your help, advice and suggestions.
