[Q] CSC problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed in the leaked jellybean rom in two galaxy i9100 phones after which one phone was getting network service and the other was not. After i dialed *#1234# on the working one and it showed:
PDA: I9100XXLSJ
PHONE: I9100XXLS6
CSC: I9100XXLSI
Build Info: Tue Nov 6 02:17:01 KST 2012
When i did the same in the phone that was not receiving network signal i got this:
PDA: I9100XXLSJ
PHONE: I9100XXLS6
CSC: Unknown
Build Info: Tue Nov 6 02:17:01 KST 2012
Why didn't the CSC file flash into the phone?

.
You can flash that modem via odin, or any other modem.
You could also flash it via CWM.
You can also try re-flashing the whole jb package again.

[Q] How do I know what stock rom I had?

Sorry if this is an obvious subject, but I'm kind of in doubt.
I was wondering how I could check what the stock firmware was that came with the phone. I'd like to re-flash it back to stock so I could get the stock updates again.
Right now when I enter *#1234# it says;
PDA: I9100XXKH3
PHONE: I9100XXKH3
CSC: I9100OXAKH3
Build Info: Fri Aug 12 11:20:51 KST 2011
Is the "KH3" part also the stock version? Because that's the version of the custom ROM I flashed.
What region are you in? Did you buy it of a specific carrier?

Look for KPN in first post and flash one of those.
Thanks a lot, I didn't find that post yet! And if I reset the custom binary count with a jig it'll be under warranty again after this flash right?
Stock rom no root and custom rom counter zero = Samsung Warranty valid .

[Q] How to update Galaxy SII?

I have a Galaxy SII and I want to update it to ICS. I Live in New Zealand on the vodafone network.
I have tried using Kies except it doesn't support updating and I don't know why!
Please help!
doed ur coutry has ics upgrade via kies....
check *#1234# and post...
Well, you can always go down the other road and skip Kies, flashing an ICS rom from the forums, of which are a lot good available, I'm very happy with one as well.
That is, if you're happy to leave the Samsung stock rom path.
You'll find all the info in the development section for the SGSII.

kies is sh*t only use it to install usb drivers then remove from desktop use odin 1.85 to flash or mobile odin app on play store
you can update to ics simply via odin. its the easiest method. just goto intratech's thread of official ics roms and choose the one you want + the same thread also has a good tutorial on how to use odin.

Do I have the latest software?

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if I have the latest software, because I think my software might be causing the problem that my phone reboots after any installation of any ROM. I"m rooted with CF-root, CWM, SU, CWM Recovery, etc.
My baseband = I9300XXLFB
Kernel =
3.0.15-983563-user
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Jul 31 19:37:49 KST

Build: IMM76D.I9300XXBLH1
is everything updated?
The latest version is LIB official jelly bean, if you haven't yet, you should receive a software update in the next few days

For this problem
If you can't, remove the battery to turn it off, pop the battery back in, then hold Volume Up, Home, and Power to boot into the recovery.
Once in the recovery do a full wipe.
If you are flashing a ROM it's always suggested to do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
If wiping doesn't work then restore for a previous backup (I hope you did a backup before you did whatever you did since you weren't being detailed in what you were doing at the time).
For update read here. http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
Here some more information on my phone:
says my AP: I9300XXBLH1, CP: I9300XXLFB, and CSC: I9300ODDBLG2
What do I need to do in order to get the 4.1.1 update? How can I flash the baseband to the JB one?
Product Code: GT-I9300RWDINU
PDA: I9300XXBLH1
Phone: I9300XXLFB
CSC: I9300ODDBLG2
They're all completely different, none have the same endings, how do I update them so it shows up on Kies? or so I can get OTA updates?

Is that safe to flash with Odin from my current firmware? Or will it brick me?
Check the latest firmware available for your region on www.Sammobile.com.
If you are having latest firmware then wait for updates and if not then flash the latest firmware via odin after downloading from www.Sammobile.com for your region.

Doesn't really matter what your kernel version is. It doesn't stop you from doing anything especially when its going to be replaced with CWM or Siyah

Thanks man , so do u have any suggestions ? And any idea why I'm getting these issues ??
Never tick the re-partition option, it can brick your phone.
For your issues I would first recommend a factory reset from inside rom - settings, accounts. This will format internal sd card so backup your data to external sd.
If still the same then download the full GML2 rom from sammobile, check md5 then flash using odin. Follow the instructions in the official rom thread (general forum) exactly.
In each case test before you restore/install any apps or mods.
