I had a DNA demo unit for about two weeks. I was able to add my Live Hotmail and Yahoo! accounts through their respective account types under Accounts & Sync. I liked the DNA, so I went ahead and ordered one. I received it today, but it's not letting me set up my Live Hotmail or Yahoo! accounts. I keep getting a message saying "503 80383: Pin expired." I've read the workaround where you add them using the regular Mail account type, but then you don't get the Live Hotmail or Yahoo! notification icon when you get new mail. You just get the regular Mail icon. I have no idea why it worked on the demo unit, but won't work on mine. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
Don't set them up three "yahoo" or "hotmail" . Use other

I always recommend getting the specific yahoo or Hotmail apps from the play store, they seem to work much better than using the stock mail app.

Hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll give it a try.
I had same issue, but it is possible. Set up like this:
Select as an Exchange account
Server: "m.hotmail.com"
Username: your email address
Make sure box is checked for encrypted SSL
There is a lot about this on the hotmail/outlook help site. Good luck.

Anyone recommend a "one size fit all email app" like the iphone, for Att S2?
I'm using Exchange, yahoo, gmail. I have lots of folder in my exchange mail and the stock Mail is sux.
Moxier mail is good but only have 1 email acc. I need an app that can put all mails in one place and showing folders instead of coupel apps for emails.
Thanks
I use Gmail for all of my accounts. I set Gmail up to retrieve (pop) mail from my Yahoo account and my other email address forwards to Gmail. I have labels set up, which allows me to organize it. I've been doing this for a while and it works really well.
What about Exchange, all folder will show or i have to go settings and choose specific folder to view? it's a pain in the bu.. . I really like the way iphone's emails handle.

I've never used Exchange, but if you were able to successfully configure it for pop retrieval, it'd work just as your other email addresses, in terms of how you view them (outlined below). Otherwise, perhaps forwarding is an option. For the email address I have forwarding, I set up filters (scans incoming emails for defined rules) to apply labels (e.g., when the sender or recipient is ______, apply this label). It's something you'd have to toy around with, but I've gotten mine set up pretty well.
All emails would show in your Gmail account inbox (with labels on each one, if you've done this) and you have the ability to specifically select a label to only see mail with that label. This is something you can do online or on your device via the Gmail app (viewing individual labels). I've tried just about every email client and I've found that this method is what works best for me.
Good luck.

I was set up like this as well for quite some time - and it worked well. Recently switched to using maildroid, which I like, but haven't customized to get more functionality than I had with gMail yet...
What's wrong with the stock mail client? Seems really nice to me. Should support all of those account types and you can switch folders very easily.

The problem is with stock email. My folders didn't go in order some + subfolders.... Moxier mail gives exactly the folder in order like the outlook also display the number for new email....like the MS Outlook in computer.
I just reinstalled Moxier mail and use stock mail for yahoo, gmail also. Oh well, no choice

Touchdown is a pretty good one, but you have to pay for it.

The stock email client is very nice and seems to work very well with Exchange. From what I've seen so far:
1) Tasks will sync
2) Folders are supported, much nicer and easier than with the Captivate
3) Flags are supported
4) Various display options such as first line preview, threaded emails, etc
5) Out of Office settings can be made from phone.
6) You can search emails on the server, not just those on your phone
7) In landscape it'll do a preview pane on the right-hand side. Not bad.
Try it, you've got nothing to lose. Seems pretty nice so far. The only thing I am missing is the ability to "check" multiple emails and take an action on a group of them (e.g., delete them all). You need to do it one-by-one. But so far it works well.
Anybody know if the stock email client can be set up for "push only" so it doesn't poll every x minutes for new mail?
Another vote for enhanced email. You can bypass exchange security rules

Enhanced Email is what youre looking for. I'm a huge Exchange user and this program easily integrates and works just like it does on iphone. You can choose which folders to keep in sync and it will notify you whenever a new message arrives in sub-folders.
The only problem I have with the stock email app is that you can't "Select All" and delete. That capability, and the ability to forward emails by clicking on several contacts and adding them , as the stock program does, are two features I really like; however, I can't find an email program that has both capabilities.

I installed Enhance email. However, it looks alike stock mail (may be I haven't explorer it much). I do like Moxier mail because it's giving me the interface just like Outlook (folder is in order same as my work laptop). Unfortunately, Moxier mail only have 1 account. Wish i can add other acc then it should be PERFECT
Started to see that my Amaze stopped syncing the inbox folders of my MS exchange account last week. I could still send e-mails, but no new e-mails were showing up in the inbox or subfolders. I deleted the account and re-created it with success, but sure enough 5 days later it stopped again. No errors. Any ideas?
Thanks
I had the same issues on all of the Android devices that I've owned (g1 > myTouch 3g slide > myTouch 4g > myTouch 4g slide > Sensation). Including my current phone, the Amaze. Either the email or calendar would stop syncing after about a week. What solved it for me was to delete the Exchange account and re-add it every time it stopped syncing.
After a while I got tired of it. So my current solution is that I use the free version of Touchdown from the Market. It comes with a 30 day trial. It works great. I figure that having to setup once a month is better than once a week.
What version of Exchange, I sync against a 2010 server and have had no issues with my amaze or the optimus-t i had before.

I'm connecting to Hotmail using the exchange service. I did find an error however in the accounts and sync menu, under Exchange ActiveSync, there is an exclamation point by MAIL, and at the bottom of the page, it states: "Source and destination collection IDs are identical". I googled this and looks like a bunch of people are having this issue, but I couldn't find a resolution.

if you have not, make sure your exchange admin looks into the logs on the server.
I use NitroDesk Touchdown Pro and it is the best Exchange client I've found so far. Handles email, contacts, calendar, and tasks. Worth the money IMO.
Having hotmail as my primary email, every time I send an email from the phone it shows up as my hotmail username and NOT my display name. For example, instead of showing up as from "John Smith" it shows up as "jsmith". I have not had this issue on any other phone including Galaxy Nexus, S2, Note, One X and the iPhone.
Would really love any kind of assistance to get this fixed!
Thanks!
well when you set up your email through the phones application for it you had a choice of what you could have you name as if you delete the email account and do it again look out for the white bar where you can change your name.

I cannot find a spot to do this as I'm setting the hotmail account as exchange for syncing / push purposes.
can you not just delete the email account you have set up on your phone and type it all in again it should come up with a space where you can pick what you qant your name to come up as when people recieve emails off you and things like that

You could've put hotmail in the title so I would know in advance that I don't care. Not that I didn't love the suspense
This seriously doesn't seem like a big deal, especially since others claim its because you haven't configured it right. None of my contacts (professional or personal) would give a **** if it only showed my email address.

I'd be okay if it showed my email address but it only shows what precedes the @hotmail.com - looks cheap. I've deleted and configured the account multiple times to no avail. Works with the same settings on a variety of phones.. Just a piss off.

Has anyone worked this out?
It's been an issue with Samsung stock email since day 0. Generally I try to use ROMs with AOSP email, but I really like my current ROM except for that!
Probably a repost, but I didn't see it here. Anyone have the email app connected to Google apps working? Mine keeps saying cannot connect to server. I don't want to just use gmail app because its for my work email and I want to use the peak/off peak settings so I don't get notified of every work email while sitting at my work computer.

If you mean a using a gmail account in the stock email app yes i do because the stock email app allows you to embed images and no other client or app does. I have no issues with this account in stock email app.

I have the exact same issue as the OP and there are a couple of threads (somewhere?) with no resolution.
Before everyone chimes in with "My Gmail works fine" the problem is with google apps accounts. That is a google email account with your own domain that you most likely pay for or use with business accounts.
It is a really frustrating bug. You put in the correct credentials and setup works fine but upon returning to the mail screen the app just says 'Cannot connect to ACCOUNT"
One possible workaround is to use the mail app from the galaxy note or similar devices as described in a thread in the themes/apps section but you loose the peak/offpeak settings.
If anyone has any more info please chime in!

Right now I'm using IMAP and it works....but the whole point of exchange active sync was to utilize the peak and off peak settings while I'm at my desk so I don't get duplicate emails and it saves battery as well.

My wife has an exchange account on her S4, as do I.
She is running stock/unrooted ME7 (took the OTA, could care less about rooting).
When she creates an exchange calendar event on her PC in Outlook, it syncs to the phone normally.
However, she can't edit any exchange calendar entries on her phone that she creates on her PC. She can edit exchange events she creates on the phone after she creates them.
When we look at the event on her phone, the "organizer" of the meeting is her, but the Edit options are missing from the Menu options when viewing the event - all she has on the Menu options for the event is Copy, Delete, and Share Via.
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Her company enables using active sync to allow employees to put there exchange accounts on their phone, but don't really provide any support options for their employees, so there isn't anyone she can ask at work about this, and I'm flummoxed.
EDIT: Solved...such a dumb thing Google did. The email address you use when setting up an exchange account is case sensitive! I removed and re-set up her account following the case exactly and she can edit events on her phone that were created on her PC.
Details here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13779
Hope this helps someone else...
This is more of a band-aid but has she tried Google Calendar from the Play Store? Maybe its an issue with s-planner. The other possibility is some obscure setting on her exchange server or an IT policy in place.
