I would say take your DX to where you bought the device and show them whats happening. Or else go directly to HTC service center. They would replace the battery at most for now.
This issue cannot and should not be fixed on your own as it does not involve a software rectification unless you have installed a magic battery eater app.

I dont think

Install PowerTutor from the play store then press Start Profiler. Then wait for a while and check what app use the most energy the whole time even if you're not using it.
Hope I helped you.
Or just install better battery stats, can be found here on xda but need root.
Hope I helped you.

Another reason why i didnt unlock or root so soon. My phone is still 1 month old and i need to check the reliability atleast upto 3-4 months. Let this be a lesson ppl, dont unlock / root unless you own a secondary device etc.

So.. is this happened after you installed your recommended app ?

Download battery mix or go power master and check if the problem is caused by any app. I had similar problem on previous phone, after checking the apps consumption I saw that mclock app eats more than 70% battery...

I started having the same problem a couple of days ago too. I think it is one of the apps that I recently installed from the market (flight view). I did a hard reset (uninstalled the battery while phone is on) and everything was fine for a day or two. Then it started happening again, so I suspected it was that particular app since it was there in "Running Services" despite not starting it. So I just uninstalled it and will see how things go.

Go into settings and make sure all Auto-Sync options for updates and social web sites are not ticked, if they are ticked these run constantly to check status check them manually when you want to, also turn WiFi on and off manually don't leave it on all the time.
Had the same issure. Apparently the problem was 3G/EDGE data transfers. By disabling all data transfer battery life was improved a lot, but then i needed internet frequently so having to turn on and off data transfer wasn't the best idea. Flashed the phone with generic firmware, and so far battery life is decent.
i'm having crappy battery on the latest update 2.0.2.A.0.24
i'm using the rooted version and JIT v2 enabled.
lost 15% in 6 hours last night with the phone not being used at all.
cell standby is killing my battery (57%), but i have good signal strength.
phone idle is at 17%, display 15%, system 5% and acore 3%.
something is going on with the cell standby.
i can't figure out if it's because i'm using google voice or something else.
something else is that my phone is now listing it's model as x10i, when it's an x10a. i know this is because of the generic update firmware. but i wonder if that has something to do with the standby battery drain.

FYI - total battery use must always add up to be 100% - It may appear that the cell standby is using up the most resources.. that may not always be the case. Check your time without signal..
Hmm it seems happen to me too since I tried Jit v2. Will try to revert back to v1. Will report back when I tried it.

Alright, so to update you guys, it has been 2 days since I removed the "culprit" app called flight view and my battery life is back to normal. So, if you all of a sudden see that your battery life is reduced, then go back and check the latest apps you installed. It is probably one of them that is causing the problem. Hope this helps.
I agree with certain apps constantly running in the background draining the battery. One way I found to determine what's doing what, is by using Advanced Task Killer, and periodically checking to see what apps are running(without being opened by myself), then killing all apps, then check back in a minute for the culprits. If it started up again on it's own and uses a lot of resources but I don't use it every day, I disable or uninstall it. When I need it again, I enable or reinstall it.
Also, set advanced task killer to kill all apps on screen off. That will help your standby time. Set apps you need running in background, like messaging, to ignore.
Also, turn down the brightness of you screen, and shorten the screen timeout length. They all can add a few seconds and a few clicks to certain tasks, but I still have 30% battery the mornings after I forget to hook up my charger the night before.

The problem is I don't install new apps after applying Jit v2. And my battery works fine with Jit v1. Well today I tried to remark #dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit. Let's see how the battery performance today. ^_^
Btw the linpack score is still the same around 32.

Hey can u please explain about that 'line remark' code thingy?
I love xda app on my Xperia X10i phone =D
I've deleted some recent apps and my battery return to normal.
It might be because of apps running in the background. Things like moixer mail and track id is notorious for battery drain issues. Better get them removed via titanium backup

If you updated your X10a into X10i, and you are now experiencing battery or connection problems it could be due to the missing cell broadcast widget called Cell Information only found in the X10a firmware and possible other unknown differences.

Batteryife on MeanROM

I need some assistance, I just flashed MeanROM 5.7 this morning and seem to be experiencing the same issue, a draining battery. It's like 8:30am and I unplugged about 6:30am. I'm currently at 77% with very light usage. I've sent maybe 20 text messages and spent maybe 10 minutes in various apps. My on screen time is currently 29 minutes. I have email set to sync every 4 hours, weather syncs every three hours, I created the MeanRom.opt file and set parameters for battery. Is there anything I can do to increase my battery life as I hear about others getting at least a full day out of their battery.

I get 30+ hours with almost 4 hours of screen on try turning off auto sync and whatever else is not neccesary such as GPS and IMHO changing to battery I tried it once and got horrible battery life you can also check Better Battery Stats and see if some rouge programs are running I know GN is a big battery killer also I always heard having wifi on as much as possible was supposed to save battery but.. I had mine on and it kicked the crap out of my battery I saw in BBS that wifi had almost 6000 wakelocks so I turned it off until I needed it then back off when done no more battery problems.
It's not uncommon to have mediocre battery life immediately after flashing a ROM...give it a day or two to settle and it should improve. That's typically been the case for me.

Yeah, that would help...wifi uses less battery than 3g too, so use that whenever you can. Just make sure the "Best WiFi Performance" option is disabled in wifi settings (it drains battery pretty aggressively).
You really shouldn't have to disable your data connection to get decent battery life though. Have you let the battery run all the way down? How many hours do you get on a full charge? Do you have the same problem with other roms?

I never turn off my 3g. It seems that if it doesn't need data, that it isn't using the 3g. It's on but in a standby mode.
When I'm at home, it's connected to WiFi. Which will help some.
I do have my auto sync turned off too. If stops pinging for messages all the time.

Poor battery life thus far...

I left my phone on to charge overnight so it's 100% when I woke up. I turned it on to check the weather for the day and before I turned it off, it's down to 99%. When I got to work, I turned it back on and I'm at around 90%. I got home today and I'm at around 30-40% with just some light web browsing and video watching at work. I flashed my T-Mo HTC One with a custom rom that was supposed to help increase battery life.
I'm not blaming the phone yet though. I'm leaning on it being T-Mobile's fault. The data connection seems to be very unreliable, jumping from < 1MB to 10MB download while still supposedly being 4G (icon shows 4G). I read that this can be a constant strain on the battery? I plan to turn off the data and manually turn it on when I want to use it tomorrow to test out this theory.

Welcome to android Where your dreams must be tapered.

I'd recommend you get the advanced task killer and use it whenever you're done fiddling around for the time being.

Absolutely the wrong advice. Task killers NEVER need to be used for anything.
If your battery life is poor, it's one of a couple things:
1) an app is keeping your device from going into deep sleep. I'm going to bet it might be maps. Go into the settings on the maps app and make sure it's not updating your location for latitude.
Failing that, search for betterbatterystats on XDA, install that program, and look for wakelocks. Read the main thread on XDA to learn about what wakelock is what. Maps is a big one, so is facebook.
2) if your signal borderlines on 0 signal and 2g/edge. If your signal is low, then fire up wifi to get it to connect to wifi calling. It'll disable the 2g/3g radios and rely on wifi only, which will be a huge save in terms of battery.
NEVER EVER use task killers. It's a myth that's been debunked years ago by the android engineers.

Find Better Battery Stats. It's paid on the market (which I recommend) but he has it free in the apps section on here. Also find GSam battery. Use those two apps to find your wakelock. Use the partial wakelock setting in BBS to find what it is exactly.
Between those two apps you can find any leaks. I would say that it is either the location reporting being on in Maps or a nasty wakelock caused by the ipservice app which is a backbone of WiFi calling.

I recommand Greenify app. Rather than killing app it hibernate until you manualy open any app and give info about wakelock by individual apps.

Thanks. I will give it a try. So does Greenify work much in the same way as iOS multitasking? I came from iOS, and when you switch apps, the app that is in the background gets put into a stasis until you switch back to it.
I've been doing it the old fashioned way as of recently and it's helped tremendously. I have different little widgets (the HTC ones) to turn off certain functions, like GPS (Google Now and other geo-location apps still work, they just don't pinpoint you EXACTLY to a coordinate), WiFi, Bluetooth, brightness, sync, etc.
Additionally, I also have power saver turned on to lower the screen brightness a bit and keep the clock speed of the device lower. Lol it sounds like I'm limiting the hell out of the device, when in reality there's no difference other than the upkeep of having to turn certain things on when you want to use them.

I thought about doing all of that too, but when you think about it, it seems pretty silly to go through all that just to be able to get some usage out of your device.
I've turned off a lot of things that were hogging my battery and am using Greenify. Battery life is a lot better at the moment, but it's still nowhere as efficient as my iPhone 5.

[Q] Battery Drain

Hey guys I just bought the phone used about a couple days ago and I was wondering if this was normal. The battery percentage seems to drain in ttwos most of the time and it does so pretty fast. Pretty much being on instagram for 7 minutes took down 10%. I'm on the new dark glass cm10 ROM right now. Is this a hardware issue or does my battery need replacing? Thanks.
1st you haven't give full info like which softwares you are using, what type of usage you do, etc...
And ya many of people have this problem.
But if it software problem then you can use these softwares:
1) Greenify
2) Clean master
And ya also turn of your GPS, DATA services when it is not in use.
These may help you and after doing this if your problem remains then we can say that it must be fault in your battery.

All I used was camera. For about an hour and music for about 2-3 hours and played dead trigger for 20 min approximately
And after this I get this kind of battery life
Andyou expect me to be happy about it?
P.S. I've been on airplane mode all the time and barely used WiFi for about half an hour.
That's it.

That's probably a wakelock or bad battery issue, try to cablirate your battery or search for the wakelock

What ROM? I had similar bad experience with mySENSE. Changing to myONE doubled my battery-life.
My phone is on for the past 2 days and its still on 60% battery.
