I purchased a DNA used, and it came unlocked and rooted. The one thing I noticed was that it was not getting 4G. So I return to stock and I am still not getting 4G on my phone. I had a similar problem with my GNEX when I would put a 4.2 ROM on it, I wasn't receiving 4G, but I reverted back to 4.1.2 radios and started getting 4G again. Anybody have any reason why it would not receive 4G LTE?

Go to settings,mobile data,preferred network. mine was set to global by default and i was having the same issue (stock, unrooted). Switch it to LTE/CDMA and see if that helps.

Figured it out. The SIM card was damaged/corrupted when I switched it from my GNEX to the DNA. Went to a VZ, got a new SIM and everything works now. Guess I can't switch back and forth between my XOOM, GNEX, and DNA now...

Figured as much. Because I switch between my XOOM and GNEX constantly. The over-the-phone tech said the DNA could have corrupted the SIM card. I am going to switch the SIMs anyway, just to see what happens. They are free anyway.

My thunderbolt started off with das bamf 1.7 and I flashed the Ginger Alpha radio. It worked great for 4-5 days then I left my home area where I normally have 4G. When I got back no 4G i even checked my buddies phone and it has*4G*right next to mine.
I already tried flashing a*stock RUU and trying a bunch of different MR1 radios. It can connect to 3G but will drop the connection a lot no matter what radio I flash. And no 4G at all.

I am having the same issues with mr2 and the new ota radio. You don't happen to be on metro detroit are you? This has been going on for days now. I may have to flash the stock locked rom and return phone if out doesn't improve soon.

ive been loosing 4g as well here in west michigan over the weekend with the new OTA. ill see how the phone acts at work today.
I am actually have the opposite problem. I can lock into 4g fine, but I can not get a 3g signal. This is with the radio from the last ota

O good im not alone. Bowtie26 I had to reset to factory again and then let the OTA go through with S-on but I still cannot connect to 4G. So I dont think setting it back to factory settings helps. Im in Portland, OR.

maybe your sim card is on the fritz. I'd try to get another one.
Yeah I guess I never thought of that, do you think that my phone would still display the SIM ID if the card was bad though?

it could. Sim cards are notoriously unreliable, and can partially function. If you have gone back to stock already, wouldn't hurt to visit a verizon store and if not and you have a buddy with a thunderbolt, you could swap sims and see if that works.

Alright definitely not the SIM card. Tried it for a day and still no 4G.
I lost 4g today as well in NYC. as did three of my coworkers with thunderbolts.

I'm on MR2 official. Both of them are on MR1. i'm on cm7, another is on cm7, one is on stock MR1 OTA (rooted).
weird. This problem doesnt seem to specific. did you ever flash the Ginger Alpha radio?
Flashed the OTA (.627) yesterday and it was worse for me than the MR2.5 leak. Went back to the MR2 leak, everything is fine. In St. Louis - 4g pretty much everywhere. With the .627 the phone locked on 3g most of the time. Didn't swap for a new sim though - with MR2 stable for now.

can anyone confirm if you can switch sim cards between a G-Nex and the DNA? I would still love the option of running the newest build to see if I liked new features... I already preordered my DNA but am debating on Selling my nexus if I can still switch to it if I want to...
I know when i went from TB- G-Nex it was a different size... did they change the size again?

The DNA has a microSIM slot which is the same as the GNEX.

thats good news... will there be any issues with me switching back and forth if i need to... with the network? the vzw rep said i cant but i know i have done it before with 2 of the same phones the only issue was that apps were locked because the sim didnt match the gmail account

I lost 4g a few days ago but now have 3g. I flashed many different roms and still can't get 4g back. I downloaded an app to try to fix it (4g toggle). It made 4g reappear but can't do anything on it. I believe it's a rom that did that. I played around with the sense rom 5 roms that were available. It could be one of those that did it. Not sure. I flashed and unflashed many kernels but still nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix? Also, it's not the sim card because 4g appears in the Galaxy Nexus as my backup. Thank you.

You may need to flash RUU. I have had this issue before while testing different roms. Once on the ruu, you should get 4G back.

I tried that but no luck. I'm going to see if I can get a new sim card just to see if by some mystery this works. I can't see how it works on a Nexus with 4g but not the device. That sounds like something weird.
This happened to me on my old phone and I called verizon and asked them to do a dmu reset and then it came back.
Try that and hopefully it may work otherwise get a new sim card.

Remember that HSDPA is not 4G but a very accelerated 3G data network. That may be why your Nexus show's HSDPA but your DNA will not register 4G. LTE is 700 while HSDPA is a more broader spectrum. Are you using a TMO Sim or a Verizon Sim?

I'm using a Verizon Sim. I will call them first and have them do a DMU reset for me. If that doesn't work then I'll get a new sim card. Thank for all your help folks. I'll let you all know which one worked.

Make sure you aren't setting you preferred network with the 4G toggle to LTE only. It would need to be LTE/CDMA or LTE+cdma+evdo

Hey guys been having issues with 4g. It works only intermittently in my DNA (even though it shows the indicator in the status bar), but if I put my sim in my Galaxy Nexus it works flawlessly. I've tried flashing kernels, new roms, and even going back to stock with ruu, but no luck. I've even switched to a new sim card. Anyone else have this issue? Or know of a fix? I'm hesitant to do a warranty exchange because the phone has the "relocked" tag in the bootloader (but no tampered tag).
I saw this too starting last week. I thought it was because i got a new sim. But then i put the sim in a different phone and have noticed that it is doing the same thing. Only thing i can think of is it's aproblem with Verizon. And not localized since your not here in Ga.

Yeah it's driving me crazy. no one else here is having the issue and I've drove through the state recently without any change. 3G however works fine when it connects to that. I'm wondering if somehow I bricked the radio Flashing/Changing roms and kernels.
I've been experiencing this problem as well. It's so annoying. Using the app OpenSignal it's funny to see my status display 4G, but when I check with the app it always says no data.. It is very frustrating. Hopefully the SIM update dropping tomorrow will fix this.

I was thinking about giving my old rezound to my nephew since his old tmobile phone got messed up. I have never tried using one carrier phone on another but is there a way to get my old rezound working on tmobile? I think as long as he gets 3g he would be happy, his last phone was 3g anyways. The rezound is on neo's tron rom and is s-off so i can flash anything required,

You can't get 3G on T-Mobile with the Rezound. My friend gets 3G on his iPhone on T-Mobile but I only get Edge in the same area.

Ok thanks, I tried some of the gsm patches and none worked but guess that confirms it. Thanks!
I let him know that and guess he would still be happy, turns out his mother had data off anyways on his phone and he needed to be on wifi for data, he wont be missing out on anything and have a nice upgrade from the htc mytouch he had.
