i was not able to flash any custom rom on my friend's Spice mi280
procedure was correct as it was same i do on my sgy
so i tried to flash its stock rom via SP Flash Tool exe v3.1145.05 using stock rom zip from dropbox to start afresh
but everytime i attaches phone through usb it gives this error

No nothing,neither in wall with charger , Nothing --unresponsive.
Only sing is when i connect him with pc is in device manager MTK USB PORT(36). But few second is availabe then it turn of. And so on all the time. Turn on and turn of in device manager.
Please if you or someone know how to repair I'd be very grateful .

I've seen the other thread in xda forum that solved this problem and it's because of the preloader file but thing is which preloader file that solved this DRAM failed problem. Anyone? Please.. share the link or files included the steps?
Solution that I've already try and end up error.
- try other S820 Stock ROM , load up in SP Flash tool and end up with same error "DRAM Failed"
- take out the batt. plug in back after hit the "download" button from SP Flash tool and at the same time plug onto usb while pressing power + vol. down @ both vol. button and end up with the same error.
p/s : in my case, the usb drive is well connected and recognize by my laptop/pc desktop and I'm pretty sure that this has nothing to do with the usb driver cause my laptops still can detect my phones (com port).
Problem Solved.
I've download several files and my phone turn on back. Follows below step if you're having same problem as mine.
Problem :
Phone is already update to a new version 4.4.2 Kitkat (don't know which or what rom since this phone is not belong to me) and from what owner tell me is that this rom that installed has no gapps and he tried to install the gapps.
after flashing it, phone become dead and won't boot even can't see the bootloader. Just nothing if you hold up the power + vol. down / up or power + vol. up and down.
When plug in phone to pc / laptop, phone is detected by Lenovo usb port or MTK usb port.
Solution :
*IMPORTANT* make sure you came from what version. (mine is 4.4.2 kitkat)
Things that you need -
sd card (just enough to put the required files), usb cable, SP Flash tool v3.1328.0.183, preloader.bin file, S820_ROW_S119_130922 files and S820 Multi language files.
1. Download all the requirement files.
S820 Custom Multi language and pre_install_rom v9 here
preloader.bin file here
S820_ROW_S119_130922 here (login and passwd can be found here)
2. Extract the S820_ROW_S119_130922 files and extract the target_bin.zip files.
Then extract the Pre_install_rom v9 and rename the folder as target_bins. After that,
extract the preloader.bin files and put it on the target_bin folder. (Don't worry as in target_bin folder already has the preloader_S820_ROW.bin (119kb) ). Done extract the files, check your phone either your machine detect it by name MTK usb port or Lenovo usb port. If it is MTK then we're good to go. ( If other than that, please uninstall any other lenovo driver that you already installed in your machine. Restart machine and check again whether your machine recognize it as MTK port or Lenovo usb port. ) When you done with this, unplug your phone from your machines and leave it aside.
3. Run the SP flash tool (admin rights) and select the MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc files that located in target_bin folder. Tick the DA DL with all checksum. Then copy Checksum files in folder target_bins and paste it on target_bin folder and on SP flash tool click download. Let it load for a moment until at the bottom of it (EMMC) you see "searching".
4. take out your batt. and plug in back then plug the usb cable to your machine and wait for the sp flash tool detect your phone and start the flashing process. After done flashing, now your phone has the CWM recovery. Unplug the phone from machine and leave it aside.
5. Copy the yaaki_v9_lenovo_S820_KITKAT_4.4.2_rooted files into your sd card and plug into your phone. Press and hold the power + vol. down + vol. up and wait until you see the Lenovo logo then you can see the CWM recovery. Go to install from sd card and select the yaaki_v9_lenovo_S820_KITKAT_4.4.2_rooted files and flash it. Wait until the process finished and after it finish installed, go back and reboot system now and choose NO for disable the CWM recovery flash.
6. Wait for around 2 - 3 mins. for the updated apps. Phone rooted + gapps + custom CWM recovery.

I can't describe how much i appreciate your post. I had the exact same problems as you did, I even used the some first rom to flash which made me problems. 3 days the phone was dead. Then I tried and did the exact from how you wrote in the last post and my s820 is live again.

It has been asked to extract S820_ROW_S119_130922 and extract the target_bin.zip. Further you are asking to extract Pre_install_rom v9 and the rename the folder to target bin. And again you are asked to put the extracted preloader.bin to the target bin.
I’m quite confuse over this and so I would like to raise few questions.
1) To which target bin you are asking to put the preloader.bin file? ROM’s target bin or renamed (Pre_install_rom v9) target bin?
2) And in step 3 you are asking to choose MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc from target bin. Now please tell me which target bin I have to choose? If it’s from the renamed target bin (Pre_install_rom v9) then what is the use of extracting S820_ROW_S119_130922 and again the target_bin.zip? Or if it’s from ROM’s then what is the purpose of extracting Pre_install_rom v9?
Unsuccessful !! Not working.
Flashing was completed successfully. But unfortunately ended with just a flash in the screen. It doesn't start at all.
For device produce in 2014 you must download a new preloader 2014, extract it to ROM folder and remove the checksum.ini file, and flash using SP tool.

I flashed a ROM with sp-tool but the phone does not open. I power it on but nothing happens, no vibration, no screen flashing nothing.
Now I try to reflash the stock ROM but:
If I connect it it to PC it is recognized as MTK USB Port instead of MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM and SPTools returns DRAM failed error.
I tried removing the battery and connecting it, pressing VOL+ etc but the same happens.
I read this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943442 but I could not do something. I found in the guide a link in a Russian forum where they talked about flashing the preloader using the board's PINs, but the translate does not give me quality information on how to do this
Any ideas?

Hi. What you did is to brick your preloader. It seems to me that your phone is made after 03.2014.
What you have to do is:
1. reinstall the driver. Follow the tutorial from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/lenovo-p780-mt6589-device-hard-bricked-t2890675
2. download the good preloader from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/len...cked-flashing-wrong-rom-doesnt-t2749683/page4
3. replace the preloader from your downloaded ROM with the one from step 2.
4. Start SP FLASH TOOL and load scatter file
5. Check DA/DL WITH CHECKSUM
6. Flash it normaly now.
7. Good Luck

I think that the only option is to hard-flash it using the pins from the board

Try this: READ THIS TWICE TILL YOU UNDERSTAND :
1. Download SP FLASH 5
2. Download you ROM from here(not optional): http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/p780-row-s226-flash-flashtool-t2909202
3. Open Flash Tool 5 load scatter file from the ROM you downloaded.
4. Select only the preloader.
5. Under the big Download button select firmware upgrade
6. Now press BIG DOWNLOAD BUTTON.
7. The preeloader should flash.
8. Now after flashing the preloader you must check all others except preloader.
9. Under the big Download button select just download only.
10. Press BIG DOWNLOAD BUTTON.
11. Now your ROM should start downloading in your phone.
12. After downloading is completed your ROM should start .
13. Good Luck

Just flash stock firmware with Sp-flashtools Download
1- Install mt65xx adb drivers
2- Connect your device to your pc
3- Load scatter file and click download in sp-flashtools
4- Remove battery then insert it again
Wait until it's done and turn in your phone (the first boot will be slow 2-5 min)

I downloaded what was stated on needrom.com I made sure MTK vcom was installed properly and had the correct rom from needrom.com but I still got Brom Error: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL in SP flash when using MTK_AllInOne_da.bin.
I then tried DA_PL.bin and got another error. I tried to uncheck preloader and run Download through SP flash with DA_PL.bin which worked just fine. However now I'm stuck at the Bluboo logo screen and phone does not load into android.
I still get Brom Error: STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL in SP Flash if I use MTK_AllInOne_da.bin but if I use DA_PL.bin now I get this error:

Thanks!!! It works!!!!
Just be very careful. The USB C connector port in the phone is very loose... so make sure you can hold the cable tight other wiser it will lose the connection and brick your phone. For me, I had to remove the Plastic cover to be able to hold the power cable tight!
Hi, could you help me please? I did your steps, but it is not working. Sp flash does all its job, shows the green sign, but the phone stills dead. What I noticed the usb connects with the phone, then it disconnects. I tried to install the drivers as the tutorials say like deactivating the driver signature enforcement, but nothig happens well.

Yes i tryed that too diffrent sp flash tools and driver signature disabled and runs as administrator i reinstalled drivers multiple times abd they all are working i tried everything i could imagine

2. Lunch SP Flash again as admin.
3. Try another PC.
4. Check that the battery in the device is charged.
5. Try with diferent usb cable

also i bricked my phone when i flashed u-boot.img as boot in twrp does that has to do something about sp flash tool or enything?

Try again to flash latest stock firmware but not just keep holding Power button during flashing with SP flash tool , you can try also Beta Version of SP Flash tool .

Well i found only one firmware for my phone with proper scatter and i am using that and beta versions is not working too

nvm i fixed it i dissasmbled phone and removed battary wire then it installed
